  1. i am having a back up cam installed today on my 2014 crossroad had to have them order the unit 305 is the list price thur mopar and got them to install it for 90 they wanted 170 but i got a little loud with them since i just bought the car from them and also had a back up cam installed on my last journey about 4 months ago. also i have the 8.4 screen. have the dealer run your vin # to make sure your radio is compatable with the back up cam. also my parts dealer was a new guy and at first said it couldnt be done but he finally got the right parts list up and said hey we can do it. go to the mopar partsweb site and it will show you the cars that the back up cam fits and with what radios.. good luck
  2. well alot has happened but i did trade in for the 2014 crossroad. they cleared the code on my 2011 and said give it a week to see if there really was a problem. got the crossroad for 9k out the door plus my 2011. drives real good guess i will be complaing when i need to replace the 19 tires. oh well. got home yesterday and was getting ready to post update and a bad storm came thur and a limb tore my electrical wire and weatherhead from the hiuse so was able to get that fixed today and with getting the wiring updated and up to code will cost me alottt $$$ but had to do it..
  3. well dropped off the journey and will hear back later, looked at a 14 crossroad journey and really liked it, a little upgrade from my mainstreet it has the 19 rims not to sure if i want them. they are wanting my car and 10,676. for the crossroad. it list out for 27.5 k and with my chrysler discount and 4k rebate it is about 20834. which is a better deal than i got on my 11 mainstreet. trying to get them trade with 9 cash instead of the 10676. they want. dealer just called and said they cleared the codes on my mainstreet and engine light did not come back on and for me to drive it and if it happens again they would have to check the trans or what ever..LOL so any way i can upgrade to a new journey for about 9k or 10,6k and start over with a new car and full warrenty? what do you all think?
  4. well coming home from the movies stopped at local drug store then was taking off and the engine light came on, car driving okay but stopped at next parking lot turned car off and also opened gas cap then tightened it good and started car back up and light still on so went to the local auto zone and they pulled codes with their meter messagess on the inboard computer so the codes mean poss. trans slipping and or speed sensor is out of range. pulled codes up on google and not much info one said probaly have serious trans repair. oh well i have 69k on the speedo well see if the 5yr/100,00 warrenty is any good. also have had dealer service change trans oil and filter at 45k .also no codes are showing up on the cars message center . well take it into dealer thur morning if poss. hope all goes well
  5. stop by any dealership and let them enter your vin # will tell you everthing about your car.
  6. well i will use advance auto rotors when i do mine in a couple of months already got the wagner thermoquiets pads with the discount and rebate they cost me 62- 20 coupon code and then the 15 rebate for around 25 plus tax and then when the wear out will turn the pads in for a free replacement from advance so that dropps the cost to about 13 plus tax for the pads and the rotors run 51 each so 102- 40 coupon code from retailmenot.com drops the rotors cost to 62 plus tax. so total cost for first brake job would be about 87 plus tax for the fronts and will be even cheaper on the next brake job. plus i have always used advance auto rotors with no problems on all my cars and my daughter does a postal route with her own dodge caravan and about 3 brake jobs ago i had to replace her rotors and used advance on hers and they are still going strong and believe me she is real hard on her brakes. hope you have a good experince with the callahans brakes let us know how they turn out...
  7. passenger side broke once during warrenty, dealer replaced then broke again after warrenty was expired so i tried glueing the hook back on but didnt hold so i held the part in place and drilled a hole then used a small black screw thur the plastic into the metal base no more problems and looks okay.
  8. looked at auto anything and they had the class 3 curt hitch for 130. plus free shipping and they wanted 54. for the wire kit is that all is needed to install this hitch.did you have to get the dealer to flash the computer or since you hooked up to the battery and not using the journey existing wires that you didnt have to go back to the dealer...
  9. have had the issue with the trans bump and have had all the updates but it still does it sometimes oh well about 68k and still going strong....
  10. well been a little over a month an about 3k miles later I have noticed alot less brake dust on my rear wheels i used wagner thermoQuite ceramic pads and i am very satisfied with them would recommend them to everyone, but i am staying with the reg thermoQuite pads for the front which i have already bought and will put them on later this year with new rotors at the same time.....
  11. so they are giving up the lower end of the market minn-van and only going to produce the more lux and expensive town and country. oh well so some other car manufacture will pick up new cust. remember most of the people buying minn-vans are are couples with kids that might or cant buy 35-40k vech. 20-25k is more in their wheel house i think this will end up being a mistake for fiat.....
  12. thanks have been looking at the A1cardone axles, i called raxles 800 # the only do rice rocket axles but they are located in the USA and so out of luck with them, he wouldnt rec. anyone other than OME dealers he kept saying all the other part suppliers get all the parts from china. my daughter wants to go with the less expensive ones and hope they last if they dont guess it will be the dodge dealer as a last resort, also hate to ortder any thing off internet in case the new part doesnt match up with the ones we pull out will prob. go with the advance auto axles will let everyone know if they hold up....
  13. kind of was thinking the same thing Journey_SeXT
  14. fuild should be clear or dirty brownish if old, power steering fuild is pinkish as is the trans. fuild
  15. so many poss. problems, master brake cly could be leaking a little which could be going under your carpet. also when front pads are wore out you get more travel on your pedal. check your front and rear pads also but if your fuild is staying full or losing a little. sounds like you have a leak somewhere and have air in the system. get it checked out somewhere right away if you cant find it yourself.. stay safe
  16. wanting to ask for recomadations on what part brand have you used for a cv axle total replacement . my daughters 2007 sxt caravan is knocking on both sides when turning. was going to use advance auto parts but then got checking on internet and it seems like A1cardone select joints seem alot better they can be bought from napa or over the internet a little cheaper since they give free shipping and no sales tax if bought thur auto parts warehouse .com, was going to use mopar joints but they are so expensive about $600. compared with about $160. with the cardone joints and advance auto joints were about $80 if you order online and use their $50. off coupon code thur retailmenot .com.. since she is hard on her van i want to try and get the best quality for the best value.. thanks in advance for your imput......n
  17. NEVER depend on the display to check your tire psi. always check them by gage at least once a month and i run 37 to 38 psi in my tires and have never had any problem at all..
  18. look in your manual under warrenty and see what it says and or get the custermer ser. phone # and call them to see if they can help you......... i just googled chrysler 5yr or 100k warranty and it brought up the dodge warranty group and it plainly says left over IS transferable over to the next owner for a small fee. i would check it out then go talk to the dealer and if he is not answering your questions ask him to call the custermer help # listed in your manual. good luck be nice but take the bull by the horns. let us know what happens....
  19. well dont laugh to hard BUT i did my rear brakes a couple of weeks ago and about a week later started hearing an occ, bump or clunk noise not always but enough to make me wonder what the hell then i asked the wife if she has been hearing it and she said yes every once in a while. well finaly tracked it down. it was my big chrome flashlight in the right side cubby hole under the floor mat had come unwraped from the rags that i had put around it so it wouldnt roll around. fixed that back right and no more bumps in the night.....LOL
  20. ok did you buy from a chrysler dealer or a used car lot? i belive if you had checked you would have found out you were already covered for the bal of the orig.5yr 100k i think there is a small fee to transfer into your name. we need alot more info for us to help...
  21. well i learned somthing today. always thought it covered any tow just like my car ins covers. of course i never read my owners manual just thought common sense covered towing meant any reason. glad ive seen this

    love tap

well just got the journey back from the dealer, they said no damage to anything except the mark on the wheel and they did a front end aligment so total cost $59.25 alls well thats ends well......
  23. just a note using reg e85 gas will not hurt your flex fuel vech. because it has been built to withstand the amount allowed by law. but using methanol which i dont know if your talking about ethynol or something different . at the mixture you are talking about will almost ruin your engine i would think.but i am not a chemist. but iam sure it will eat up the gaskets and seals and cause corrosion in your fuel lines and engine parts. good luck and keep us informed
