  1. how much did that lifetime warrenty cost. i waws asking a salesman about it while i was picking up some oil filters the last time at the dealership and he acted like their was no such thing and then finnally said his dealership didnt offer it at this time, which i thought was b/s but didnt push it as i dont like that dealer any way. thanks for any info
  2. looks cold , we are down to 50 degrees here in al. looks great
  3. yrs ago i bought a product that covered just your lights it was cut to exact size and shape and it was opital grade plastic and it was guaranted not to turn yellow. it worked great and also it protected the light against stones. remember the plastic lens use to fogg up and or turn hazy, any way I tried to find it for my journey but guess they quit making it . i remember it cost about$50. back then, i remember catching a big stone on the light and it made a big mark in the plastic but saved the lens from cracking. it was well worth the cost just for that reason alone.......................... P.S. the stuff i used was kind of thick it wasnt a thick plastic sheet.
  4. i have a 2011 mainstreet 3.6 and my gas mileage can be as low as 18mpg in my small town with some country driving but on the avg i get around 20 to 21 mpg. now on trips to the beach in gulf shores al. i will avg 22-25 on the interstate driving at 75- 80 mph. gas mileage always dependends on your speed, stops, and elavation of the road. going out to vegas i got 22-25 going out against the wind and going up with elavations of new mexico but coming back i was getting 30-31mpg elavation going down so that makes a huge difference. overall i love my 2011 and i am happy with the mpg for such a big suv. only problems i had with mine were the front brake rotors and the dealer changed them and put on new pads at 28k and i have 64k on it now with no more problems with the front rotors.i am putting rear pads on the next week so 64k on them and about 36k on the front pads and they look great. hope you decided on what to buy and will be happy with it.. p.s. most drivers use the mpg reading that the car tells you as you are driving down the road but that is NOT a true reading of what you get most of the time. i always check my gallons of gas used aginst the miles i have drove and that is the most relible way to get your true mpg.
  5. i went to leeparts.com then clicked dodge then clicked yr then journey then clicked interior then scrolled down to the elec. heat.. as i said these were for 2009 -2010 yrs. they go under the seat cloth and then wires run to the dash switches as i also said you need to go to dealer to see if they have them for your 2011. this is the same site that they odered my backup camera for my 2011. the dealer didnt even know that the back up cam was alavaible till i brought this to his attention.. good luck
  6. i just looked for them and they have a kit but its for 2009 to 2010 journeys it was a mopar site but check your dealership parts store to see if they have more detailed info the kit listed for $260. plus labor.. good luck my 2011 has the heated seats and my wife loves them as she has a bad back....... p.s. as the were options on 2011 they should be able to add them to yours as they have to stock the parts for repair.
  7. alot of new vec. have a decoupler(spelling is wrong) that that is bloted onto the alt that the belt rides on. my daughter just had one go bad on her 2007 van. the decoupler cost about $45. most mech. usually just changes out the alt as they make more money on that then just fixing the decoupler check it out on u tube. could just be that good luck
  8. could be a tire try rotating your fronts to the rear if goes away then it was a tire, how are the tires wearing even or wearing on the inside or outside edge, had my 2011 aligned at about 60k miles they were wearing on both the inside and outside but good tread in middle always kept them rotated and aired up correctly. mech said it was actually one of the rear tires that was out of aligment. but hey i got 60k out of my kumos so not really complaining about them... P.S. my journey wasnt pulling either way
  9. go to leeparts.com then click on journey parts then typ in 82212533 in search box this is a mopar part. msrp price is $305.00 but his price is $262. plus shipping and tax and then my dealer charged $90. for install and code added to car if your dealer is charging more try a different dealer they all charge different amounts on labor and parts discounts... good luck my dealer charged me $220. for the cam but i get a retiree discount from chrysler but you should get it for about 370 to 400 for the parts and labor...
  10. just had the back up cam installed on mine couple of months ago it will cost about $260 for the cam and about 90.to install it and to add the code to your computer. really like mine good luck
  11. well then go back to the dealer they will show you exactly where they are.......
  12. true the battery is not a warrenty item but if the key fob has went bad it would be covered under the warrenty.
  13. i would take it back to your dealership and show them what its doing as i have never had any problem with mine good luck
  14. just google ( vin on dodge journey) i just did and it should about 5 places on ther car most under the hood goog luck
  15. have not tried with a dead battery, and yes i would think it would be covered if your within your 3yr-36 k time limit, but let me ask why are you busting our chops. call the dealership if you dont like our answers or our help. sorry if i am taking your post wrong but as far as i am concerned try to find out yourself with your good key fob take out the battery and then try to start your car then YOU can then report back to us if it is poss. to do ,as i am not worried about it.....
  16. try putting a new battery in the key fob you can buy them from walmart.
  17. in the U.S. at all the dodge dealers you can buy a 2 yr or (4 oil changes) for about $65. and can get it changed at any dodge or chrysler dealership and they service all makes of cars chevy. ford ,for the same price.my daughter takes her chevy tahoe to our local dodge dealer for oil changes . dont know if they offer that up in canada but worth asking about guess it would be for a higher price but that is still a great deal about 16.25 per oil and filter change of course syn oil is extra

    Did it again!!!

kind of off the subject but did i miss something on the electric seat warmers when remotely started they dont kick on till you get in and touch the start button. dont use it much as weather in alabama is not as tough as you all get up north. seems like the drivers seat should start getting warm as soon as you hit the remote start. thanks for any help
  19. well the wife said our car wouldnt start,so went out and jumped it with my truck car started up and had the engine light on so took it down to advance auto and they said it was real low but read good to recharge but they rec. for me to change it, which i was wondering how much longer it was going to last as all my dodge vech. battery seam to die after 3yrs. so i went home jacked it up and removed the left tire and removed the plastic rivits with a screwdriver and pliers no problem then started (cussing dodge out)oh well then you loosen the battery tie down and then the pos. battery cable not to bad to get to,then the neg you have a elctric wire snap to undo and tuck out of the way, then the neg bolt to loosen is not the one you think it is, it is actual the little silver nut that is angling off to the right side of the connection, then tuck all your wires out of your way and i used a small flat bar to lift the battery up and out of the tray then pulled it out. then went inside my houseand to the computer and went to retailmenot.com and clicked on advance auto web site and got a $40. off code the went to advance auto web site and got their best batt $144.99 so tax and all about $110. paid for it then went and picked it up and put back into the car. one other note is the connection on the neg cable make sure you connect back up the connetor before tighting down you neg cable as it will turn tight agaisnt the battery box . also i noticed when i loosened the nuts on my cables they really almost loose and their was a little rust on the postive cable connector so as usual do i cleaned both the post and connectors real good and bought the corrension felt tabs that go on the battery post.also the engine light was gone after i started the car up. Maybe could have got away from changing tha battery after noticing the not real tight connetion but after this far decided to relpace the battery anyway. Not to bad on replacement of battery like any thing else kind of hard the first time 2nd time would be a breeze. sorry about no pics. as i i dont have a smart phone...good luck to others..........
  20. i would assume this repair would be covered under the 5yr 100k powertrain warrenty, not sure but worth asking about...
  21. i would not turn any rotor that you have been having problems wit warpage or shudder, you would only be wasting your time and money by making a bad rotor even thinner. that said had my first brake problem at about 10 k and the dealer turned them and then about 28k started having more shuddering so was able to talk dealer into replaceing fronts pads and rotors as a goodwill gesture. now about 30 k later( 63k usa) not having no shudder or any problems with my brakes also i dont do much in town driving i am thinking i will do my rears pads and fronts again in about march or april waiting on wagner to run their rebate offer about this time of year. since not having any problems front or rear with shudder or any rotor problems will just replace the pads. i know most people say you should turn the rotors when doing a brake job but have done this many times before with no problems.also if you use ceramic pads they WILL cause more heat and makes the rotors heat up alot more and i will not use them i always stick with wagner thermo-quite pads and they last forever for me.
  22. seems like it would make using the remote a little harder to use or might make it go off alot more often, dont really see the need for it , but to each their own. try going to some leather craft shows and get your one of a kind made, good luck,,,
  23. why do people post problems and or questions and never post back what happened or if they got it fixed? guess its easier to complain about something than share what they did to fix their problem or what they found out and how to resolve the problem......
  24. take it to auto zone or advance auto for a free scan
