  2. better have it checked , or your tiers will prob be wore down soon. not normal.........
  3. dealer or junk yard maybee e bay
  4. i would have the trans fuild changed and nothing else unless you are having problems, just turned 58k miles on my 2011 and i had the trans fuild done ( i believe in changing trans fuilds) still have my orignal kumo tires with great tread on them. 3yr 36k for bumper to bumper 5yr 100k on engine and power train ps my fuild change was not a flush but a reg fuild and filter change ...know i did it early but believe in doing not
  5. found a product that really works great and thought id pass it on. my wife has been being bothered with a skin problem and is going to a dr. about it and it has spread to her bottom of her foot and it causes extreamly dry patches of skin that forms above the new skin and looks terrible and the dermtolgist says to keep it lubed with lotion. well we tried most all lotions and 1 day i am in the plumbing store and see a small round green container about the size of a hockey puck called( O'Keeffes working hands) hand cream and i ask the owner about it and he swears that every one that has tried it loves it, for $6.99 i say what the hell and man does it work great it has really helped my wifes foot( it hasent stopped her problem, but we are still going to the dr about) but it has slowed down the itching and flakeing of the dying skin. i have always had a problem with 1 of my heels cracking open and i started using it and man it has really helped it after just a few days. this stuff works so good just thought id pass on the info as so many products claim releaf but doesnt work. it is sold at lowes and auto zone and alot of different places and you can order it over the internet and they have a cream just for feet, but havent tried it as you have to get it thur the internet and the hand cream works great so we havent bothered with it.
  6. well ive got 58k on my 17 kumos and keep telling my wife that i want to get new tires before winter but when i get ready to do it i look at my tires and they still look good and above the tread wear ridges. i know alot of readers have had bad luck with their kumos but ive kept mine rotated and havent had any problems to complain about. of course we dont get alot of snow in al just a few storms but do seem to get alot of ice.
  7. i would also like to hear from adudinsk also. as important it is to warn others about bad venders it is also good to give a report back about your complaint and how it was taken care of. i thought he would have commented after reading toms post. well he might be on vacation..
  8. have had problems in past vans with noise and whines from power steering and started using lucas power steering oil and it has always fixed the problem it is really great oil seems thick as hell but but works. i would use a turkey baster( the kind with a bulb so you can suck up liquid) to remove as much power steering fuild and then just refill to proper level. cost about $7-9 a bottle at auto store or wally mart. as far as checking your engine mounts have someone sit in car with car in gear and foot on the brake real hard with the hood open and you stand by the side of car and have them rev the engine, if the engine raises up a couple of inches then you have some bad mounts. ps on one of the vans the dealer was telling me it was the power steering arm unit (not the pump) that was making the noise and it would cost about $3 - $400 to replace the unit and i was googling it and it was suggested to try lucas oil and it did fix the noise and problem for as long as i owned the van and was sold to my daughters aunt and she still has the van 4 yrs now and still no problems with the steering unit worth the try
  9. after hearing about the problems the other member had why would you order from this vender . as they were trying to sell him something he didnt order and now the same thing has happened to you.... WARNING,WARNING do not buy anything from this vender period......
  10. why black out your lic plate in the firstpic and not in the 3rd pic ?
  11. was out looking at my journey and looks like only about one half inch space between the wheel weights that are guled on and the caliper and i have 17 inch rims. would be afraid the bigger rotor and bigger caliper might hit the weights and if you lived up north with the ice build ups you might have an even bigger problems. still thinking about it tho...
  12. also , have never had to use 2 wrenches to remove calper bolts. somthing new here?
  13. sounds great and great write-up wonder how much room between 17 inch rims and the new rotor and calper. since i have 17 rims really dont want to go to bigger rims and tires because i am cheap. LOL
  14. hate to say but if you had your old rotors turned all you did was make them thinner and they are now ready to warp even faster, you should have paid a little more for the wagner rotors that come with a unlimted warrenty against warping. if they did go bad later take them back and they will exchange them for free. i was just talking to a guy at advance auto on how they determine if the rotors are bad and he said just bring them in and they would replace them since they have no machine to check them for warpaged. that is what i plan to do next time my brakes start giving me problems
  15. well just got the back up cam installed at my local dealership took about 3 hrs was only supposed to take 1.5 hr but their computers had crashed and had to wait for them to come back up so they could do the sales code update. then they said it was ready and i checked it out or thought i had and got almost home when i noticed my manual buttons belowthe radio only half of them were working so i called the dealer and they said to come back so i went and picked my wife up and went back to the dealer and while they worked on it i borrowed a car from them and took the wife out for lunch and just as we were finnishing up lunch they called and said every thing was working that the mech hadnt pushed the connectors tight the first time. so everything working just great and my total cost was $218 for the cam ( with my 25 percent off for being a chry. ret) $20 tax and $90 labor charge for a total of $328. and it comes with a 12 month/12k warrenty. so far i am happy with it and i thing that was a great deal for it and the install
  16. are you talking about the sticker price on the window of the car ?as that is not the invoice price of that the dealer uses to adjust the discount off of. the friends discount should have saved you at least 1500 off of the window sticker price plus the rebates.the paperwork they use is never put on the window
  17. sorry but you are wrong it is NOT off the sticker price it is 1 precent off of the invoice price and emp. price is about 5 percent off of invoice price plus a $75. processing fee. any one can google this using chrysler freinds and family discount.
  18. the second price you got was the friends and relatives price discount the employee and retiree discount is a bigger discount that is for the employee and his / her family only. both are a set price that cannot be haggled with and all rebates are subtracted after the discount price is told to you and then tax and all the other little add ons. NOW if you are trading in a car and using the discount they WILL rape you on the trade in price. and dont try to haggle the trade in with out telling them you are using a discount as they will go back to the beginning and tell you are getting such a great deal that they cant give you more for your trade in. read my above post as with new modles coming out you could get a better deal if you have your cash or financeing all set and do some wheeling and dealing and play hard ball, but it wont be much more.. GOOD LUCK ALL
  19. E-85 ethanol, is a pipe dream started up by our goverment to help solve our fuel problems, the big problem with it that they are using corn to make it and that is not the best plant to use but suger cane and other plants dont grow here like they do in other parts of the world. ethanol gas needs to be one third of the cost of a gallon of reg gas to make up for the loss of performance and mpg to make it the same cost, only problem is they only discount it about 50 to 60 cents cheaper than reg gas. CNG is they way for us to get away from being dependent on gas and that wont happen for at least a couple of yrs. because they have to get enought fueling stations for it around the country enought so people will feel ok with it.to buy the cars that run on it. it is a cleaner and better way to power our future untill they get electric cars with a longer range of miles . also do not use ethanol in you car if it is NOT made to run on it, your car should say on the yellow gas cap that it is okay to use it. If it is not a flex fuel vec YOU WILL DAMAGE you engine no additive will prevent any damage to the engine not made to run it.....
  20. no and did notice any real improvement to mpg or performance but at least ill save on buying new air filters.monitor
  21. the point is we want to use the 8.4 screen and not to have to use another monitor. hanging from the dash or windshield. monitor
  22. i just called my local dealer and he wasnt aware of this part so i gave him the part number and my vin# and he called me back and said yes he wasnt aware of this,But yes it can be done and he said he would charge me 305 for the system and 90 for the install and since i am a chry. retiree i get 25% off of parts total cost should be about $365. so i told him to order it and will be about one week till i can have it in.. i told him that since most of the journeys on his lot didnt have the backup cam but had the 8.4 screen it should be a great upsell for his service dept, and he needs to adv. to his custermers. i have been trying since 2011 to get a rear cam back up sys. for this vec and the cheapset i had ever found was after market for 700 installed at a classic car store. but wanted a oem sys... this blog is really great for sharing ideas and for help... thanks for the tip spl147 i fgured for less than 90 id let the dealer do it you might want to price it with your local dealer also since you will have to pay him $50. to add the sales code ALOT EASIER and then comes with12/12k warrenty
  23. have you checked with your local dealer to find out if and how much for them to add the code to your computer for it to work?
