  1. all doors have holes in the bottom somewhere to let water drain out . look to see if they are closed off or plug up. also look at the rubber seal at the window sill where water might be coming in. good luck p.s. you could always drill some small holes on the bottom if you cant find out how to drain it.
  2. you need to take them to the dodge dealership to get the correct advice before laying out the $$$$, better to be safe than sorry..
  3. how did you remove the 2nd row head rest, went to remove mine in a 2011 main street raised them up as far as they would go but it stopped when fully up postion didnt try to force it up to hard .maybee needed to get more rough with it but thought id ask before i break it LOL
  4. P.S. if you have had to add air already to one of your tire better keep an eye on it as you might have picked up a small air leak or nail. shouldnt have to add that much unless you have a problem some where, better safe than sorry
  5. i run 36 to 38 also use reg air. it does help get better mpg. soft tires will give a softer ride but not better mpg. nitrogen in your tires is supposed to not leak out or have a tighter range of air pressure from cold to hot. yes you can add reg air but then you start to defeat the reasoning of using nitrogen. for me it is a waste of money but everyone has a different view of using it.as i always check my oil, water, and tire pressure about once a week. do not depend on the tpms to alert you to low air pressure as it isnt that reliable till it might be too low.
  6. just got back from a trip of about 1000 miles round trip with 2011 main street 3.6 engine with a k-n air filter and using reg oil, mostly interstate miles and some city driving bumper to bumper traffic jam on the way home. after pushing the reset on the evic it said i was getting 26 mpg while driving on the interstate going about 70 mph but i always use the old method of checking mpg by the miles divided by gallons of gas used and it figured out to 23 mpg. which i feel is pretty good considering the 45 min traffic jam,hat we got caught in. hoping when i switch over to syn oil i will get better mileage and from past cars that is usally about 1 mpg better, have 1 more free oil changefrom the dealer and then ill change over.
  7. just called the dealership about the eye bolt that screws into the front bumper and was i supposed to have one in my car somewhere , they didnt have no idea or have never heard about one being supplied with new cars in U.S. they said the tow truck drivers are supposed to have them. i told her that i had just seen a flat bed tow truck driver this morning and asked if he had such bolts and he replied NO that different cars had different size bolts and that they didnt supply the bolts that they were supposed to come with the cars.( which does make sence) checked my spare tire area real good and no such bolt.also looked in my manual and there is no mention about this eye bolt and or the place in the front bumper where it screws in.
  8. dont know they sent it off to a body shop and paid for a rental car for me. they did the left side not long after i bought it and then about 3 months later the right side started poping out and they provided a rental car for 3 days each time while it was getting fixed.NO NEED TRYING TO FIX IT YOURSELF. just take it back to the dealer that way if you ever have more problems down the line you can go back to the dealer.. what ever they did it is fixed right..
  9. just check my 2011 mainstreet and the rear has a very large vertically mounted eyelet underneath the bumper but it lookss like if they tried to use that it would scrape the plastic cover also checked for the eye bolt for the front where the jack was but there wasent one, there was a eye bolt attached to the top of the jack but it didnt screw off so dont know if they come with U.S. version or mine got left out .oh well worry about that when and if it evers needs to be towed..
  10. me too please let us know about the miliage and the power and performance of you freemont
  11. take it back to the dealer as it is covered under warrenty had mine fixed 10 months ago and still holding tight
  12. well ive had my 2011 mainstreet with the 3.6 pentastar engine for almost a year now with about 19000 miles on it. great car so far ,great mpg on the highway. Have never pushed the car i uasually dont speed or drive too aggressive, but i got a call that my daughter had passed out at the dr. office and was taken to the emg.hospital. So i take off for the 20 minute drive to get there and still trying to be safe and not drive crazy. Worked okay till i got stuck behind a car poking along and then a garbage truck pulled out in front of them so when the truck made their next right turn on a side road i pulled out to pass the car and put the pedal to the metal and boy did the journey take off couldnt belive the power that this car has before i knew it i had to back off the gas since i was on a country 2 lane rd.all in all i have to say i really like this car. and also my daughter turned out was having a procedure done and had worked her self up too much i guess like a panic attack, but she turned out okay but will have to have some surgery in the next month but other wise okay
  13. thanks might be, but I dont have the auto lights either so i guess its still the 3rd tit that doesnt do nothing.. has any one had to replace the wiper blade on the hatch back yet, looks like a dealer replacment only blade?
  14. i asked the dealer he told me it was for when your journey needs to be towed the tow truck driver removes the plug and connects the cable to winch the car onto the flat bed to prevent any damage. at least thats what he told me.But i also asked him what that 3rd tit on top of the dash in the center by the windshield was for and he just looked at me and said he thought it was for the security like some other cars have. i said it doesnt blink but i have a light in the cluster that blinks which i thought was the security light. Was wondering if it was for the gps that i dont have on my journey. oh well i havent lost no sleep over that one .LOL
  15. well to some it may be real important and to others it may not be, but if you have to tear the car apart or put your head under the dash, i myself think you are going a little over the line.I can only suggest that you dont go into the kitchen while they are cooking your food at your favorite resturant other wise you might not go back.Just trying to say ALL cars are built the same way using most of the same suppliers. the rust you are seeing would take 20 years or more to ever become a problem if ever.If it was rust in the paint or on the chrome or where it could be seen then it would be a quality problem that you could get taken care of.
  16. yes stay away from the black plastic...at least from my experince.. LOL
  17. have been told that using ceramic pads will reduce the dust problems, but they also are tougher on the rotors, i talked to 3 different parts store and they all said the same thing about the pads wearing out the rotors because they build up more heat when stopping. havent ever tried ceramic pads. wonder if this is true?
  18. how did it get cracked? assuming its your fault since you wanting to replace it yourself, having the air conditions controls on there does give me worries about it going bad after warrenty going out.
  19. forgot to add that didnt notice any added noise from engine after adding the K N airfilter
  20. just got back from a trip went 488 miles round trip some city driving and rest highway used 20 gals avg. 24.4 mpg. i had just put in a K N air filter .seems it might have helped a little as i usaully get around 22 -23 on this stretch of road. going on a longer trip next month will check it again. this is going about 65-75 mph. i re-set the computer while driving and car said i was getting 26 -27 mpg so anyone who does that is not getting a true sample. always use miles divided by gallons to get a true mpg.and best to use 3 to 4 tanks to get a good avg.
  21. well at least you got good mileage out of them and yes you can go to different size tires that are close to your size go to a good tire store to check what they would suggest and then check with a different store to see what the suggest just to be sure
  22. the oil light only tells you when the oil PRESSURE is low . it does NOT tell you when you are getting low on oil, that is what the oil dip stick is there for. the same for your TEMP. light tells you when the engine is getting to hot, but it doesnt tell you when your low on coolant untill its to late.always look at the reservoir jug to make sure you have coolant.
  23. just found the cabin air filter on 2011 mainstreet. open the glove box and then push in on the tabs at each side so the box opens all the way and spill the contents on the floor. then look straight in at the long cover that says air flow this way, push on on tabs at each end. then pull out filter and replace with new one, put every thing back and then keep blood from dripping on carpet as there are some REAL SHARP edges in there so be carefull learn from my experince LOL just 2 small cuts. also advance auto does have these in stock for about $16.00.... if you are fat and old like me you might just want to pay someone or maybee the auto parts store might put it in for you.
  24. just got back from dealer from having my oil changed and they said my cabin air filter was real dirty and showed it to me and i said go ahead and change it. ouch $23. with my company discount ( $26. RETAIL)no charge to put it in,they said it was under the glove box looked but didnt see where it went have to look again. checked on a air filter for the engine and it was about $26. also and cant find any at local auto parts so i broke down and ordered one off auto anything they matched advance auto got it for $43. should be in come monday or tue. have one on my 2001 truck thought it might help gas mileage but it never did.will see if it does any thing on the journey at least will save some money on replacement filters cost.so far still loveing my journey gas mileage about 19- 20 in town and 23-25 on the road. also picked up one oil filter cost me about $7.. with my discount retailed for $8.25 will do a syn oil change next oil change was going to let the dealer do it this time and pay the difference in price from the reg oil but they didnt have any in stock and they would have to had sent someone down the street to get the oil(what the hell) told them to skip it and just do the reg oil change for now. and this is a huge dealership and they dont keep no syn oil on hand had to laugh about that one. oh well
