    Hello from NZ

Welcome to the group take your time and cruise thur the forum sections for a lot of great advise and some bad as well....LOL
  2. mine wasnt factory but you use a spring the screws onto the bolt thread then pulled thur the hole by a string or wire ;like shown in the video,,are using the oem wires for power i used the wiring kit and went to the battery up front ,,,if you use the factory oem wiring you will have to get the sales code authorized thur the local dealership before it will work
  3. well it also could be your heater core, but unlikely since they are a 2 zone core... start with the easier and cheaper blend door actuator first
  4. buy oem off internet or go aftermarket option, unless he can add the sales code you will still have to pay the dealership to ad the code as well
  5. google ac actuator blend doors, and or search thur the forum under Climate Control
  6. easy way to remove fluid is thur the dipstick tube harbor freight has a cheap pump to remove oil and such, i used one on my daughter's mail vehicle i would remove the fluid into a plastic coke bottle that way i always knew how much i removed then to re add the new fluid
  7. .actually i just went out and checked mine second time since i had had my trans serviced at the dealership, once at 60 k and then again at 100k and the fluid was right in the middle after i took it for a drive to heat the trans up
  8. i just edited my post recheck it for the video
  9. All my past experience with trans slippage means you will need a new trans in your future, no amount of fluid or magic trans fluids will help, but my 2001 dodge truck went a long time before i bothered to get it fixed ,of course i was going easy on it and not racing it... maybe someone else can pipe in with a better idea........just curious but how many miles on it and have you had the trans serviced before all this happening,,,,,also there is a youtube video on how to mark your oil dipstick so you can check your trans fluid i did mine yrs ago just so i could check it every once in a while......watch this guys videos also at the 10;00 mark he shows how to mark your dipstick........
  10. larry gave you some good advise on the belt, dont put it off
  11. which bolt you are talking about ,and if you cut it off how will you use a new bolt
  12. when my camera started doing that they ended up replacing the actual camera at the rear hatch, left drivers door at the rubber boot is a know wire spot for breaking or shorting out there, this has been covered in the forum check it out
  13. your choice of OEM, which the dealership can install or buy the OEM unit yourself and installed it but then you will still have to go to the dealership to have them enable it for it to work,or go aftermarket which will be cheapest ,,your choice,,, welcome to the group,,,take some time and read thur the forum of a lot of info you might have on your journey
  14. well at least you will have no problems with your knowledge on what maintenance and how to do them.i still think our Journeys are a good looking and great value vehicle for the price they cost ,wont ever be able to replace them for what they cost us.....I have been waiting on ordering a new Ford maverick hybrid truck, I didnt really want a first yr one, they open up the order book in july this yr, just wait and see if i can get in the book this yr....LOL
  15. well my tpms giving me the service tpm light so went to Discount tire shop in Madison Al and they checked them and said yep 2 out of 4 were bad on my 2014 Dodge Journey so i had them replace all 4 of them and they come with a 6 yr/72 k warranty and since they do all my tire purchases i am back on the road and happy camper, since the wife is happy everyone is happy
  16. Have never heard of this problem,,, I am assuming you have the 3.6 eng with the 6 sd trans? what mileage on the journey? have you had the trans fluids changed out, as it is due around 100 K ? and also i have to ask did they/you check the fluid level.?
  17. well i dont have any scanners or alfaobd,,,was hoping the glitch will clear by itself, but no such luck guess ill just go with the black tape over the light till i have to put it in the dealership under something else for warranty
  18. well the tpms worked great for a couple of days but the light came back on again and was a different position as well, weather is nice here and we really dont have no rust or corrosion build up on the journey like most northern states, thinking of buying a can of contact cleaner /electrical cleaner and unplug the tpms module and check/spray it out and then see if that helps. cant hurt it i guess, will report back if it get it done this weekend
  19. well, how would we know what needs to be replaced after an accident that is causing your ac to turn on by itself? not being rude but they might have put in a def part or maybe and a strong possibility short in the connector that connects to the ac compressor , it can happens after a repair of any vehicles,I would rest assured that they will fix your vehicle with no problem.. yrs ago i had a bad accident and the truck had to go back to the shop several times to fix things they had missed during the int repair and they were supposed to be the best shop in town...LOL to be honest i have never used them ever again but they did finally get everything fixed to my satisfaction
  20. update on my tpm,:::::::::,I went to the local discount tire shop and they checked with their scanner and all 4 tpms read good.so he then hooked up his other scanner and said what he was going to do was to force the tpms readings into the computer, and he tried 2 times but the dash tpm info didnt change, so he thinks its a module problem,so he says no charge and i told them thank you Discount tire shops are great to do business with...i dont even get out of the parking lot and the tpm light goes away and everything is working again even the abs light and traction control light and brake light are off....i drive the 20 miles home and stop for gas shut the car off and then start back up to leave and the abs and other lights come back on but the tpm light is still off,and everything is still okay with the tpms readings interesting on the tpm problem but i dont believe it is connected to the abs problem as that has been going on for over 6-7 months
  21. i was thinking of unhooking the connector and check it out but was watching a video on it and they mentioned you might have to relearn the module after doing that so not sure if i want to try unhooking it ...seems simple enough and not hard to get to tho...as ai said i have 3 of the tires reading okay just the one with the 3 dots inop but then i moved that tire to the other side and the bad reading still stayed in the same spot and it should have moved if it was the sensor so that makes me believe it might be the module gone bad
  22. i have never replace a cv axle on our journey but have on caravan and yes the trans fluid is what you have lost .. i would assume you couldn't have lost much as i never worried about it before on our caravan, hard to tell you how much to replace since we dont have dip sticks no more ,you can buy a test dip stick from the part stores or go on you tube and there are videos on how to mark your oil dipstick to match up to where the trans oil level should be i marked mine like the video said to do and then i checked the level in my trans and it was exactly where i marked it to be
  23. any solutions to the tpms problem....my left rear is showing the three dots and says service, and was going to have discount tire replace all 4 since the journey is going on 9 yrs pld but after reading this post i decided to switch the right to the left and them took it for a drive and also aired them both up to almost 40 pi and expedited the bad 3 dot reading to jump to the other side but it didnt even after a 20 mile drive so makes me wonder if it is the tpm module in the left rear wheel well? i do have the max warranty with dodge so i could take it in to them which would be more expensive on replacing all 4 tpms but id its the module then would be cheaper than aftermarket service and parts... I am not in a big hurry as since its the psi info isn't the biggest worry i have just an aggravation .........................strange thing tho my abs module is on backorder thur the dodge dealership for around 6 months now ( internal fault is what they say) but every time ( three times so far) i have the wheels rotated or the journey lifted right after doing that my abs lights and traction control and brake lights have went off and the cruise would start working again for around 1 day then they all come back on....makes me wonder if lifting the journey or whatever is maybe uncovering a wire shorted out or whatever causing the abs to work again but then after a short time back down on the ground it shorts out again or makes the abs inop??????doesn't seem like if it was the abs module that is supposedly bad would be on again off again simply by lifting the frame and setting it back down again
  24. ell you asked over the internet for a guess on what the problem could be, a solid connection of electrical connections could cause your problem as i said it is just an idea to have it checked after all its over 20 yrs old... loose wires or CLEAN GROUND connections could be another possible cause as well, so many possibility for your problems, even a bad battery or alt NOT suppling the correct voltage to the cluster.....By the way welcome to the group
