  1. probally the 2.4 eng , and to be honest lauriezi63 you need to find a different mechanic other than pep boys as i have know 3 different people i know that use them and they all had bad repair luck when using them...other than that without knowing which eng and part you are talking about it is hard to answer correctly
  2. just type in torque specs for 2012 inner and outer tie rods on google.......................... 2012 Dodge Journey 2.4L Front End Torque Specs dodge-specs.com https://dodge-specs.com › cars › 2012 › journey2.4 This inner tie rod screws into the power steering rack and can be torqued down to 55 ft-lbs. The outer part of the tie rod (tie rod end nut) is torqued between 31 to 42 foot pounds.Feb 13, 2017
  3. i dont believe the add on wireless camera will work with the 8.4 screen, even with the oem camera you would still have to have the dealership add the sale code to the journeys computer to make it work
  4. well on 25 yr old cars sometimes replacement parts can be difficult to find, as of now my 2014 journey is drivable but i am waiting on an ABS module for my journey it has been on backorder for about 1.5 yr as of now thur the dealership, and to be honest ITS not just dodge its all Manufactures that are having this parts problem
  5. 6. did you check the wiring real good at the upper hatch in the rubber boot that wiring is really easy to break or short out there,,,,just a thought......Welcome to the group
  7. the blend doors will reset after the engine is shut off takes about 20-40 seconds the sound comes from under the glove box, if you have the rear air as well i am sure there are blend doors back there as well will sound like a dull clicking noise, other than that might be something under the car but if you are not moving and also when shut off that shouldn't be the case.....Welcome to the group and please report back on what you find out to be your problem
  8. Just got a letter from chrysler waning me to send them my info if i wanted to get rid of my lifetime warranty on my 2014 crossroad that they would give me a $5000 rebate on certain vehicles if i acted quick and take delivery in the next few months, no mention if it was on top of other rebates they are offering or if it could be used with my employee discount that i get as well,,,, just deposited it into the round file cabinet,
  9. mine did this occasionally when i first bought it,but hasn't done it for yrs.... you have different ( 3 ) blend doors and one of them is stuck or quit working,,, this has been discussed quite a bit look under forum and then click interior to read about it also many videos can be found on youtube on locations and how to fix them, it has been mentioned to buy oem blend door replacement yes more costly but better made ........Welcome to the group as well
  10. also you may have a water leak coming into the journey from the front body seams, this was discussed in the forum a while ago, is it leaking from the seals on BOTH sides?
  11. just an update , the ABS unit is still on backorder at the dealership, But around 3-4 weeks ago all three lights are staying off ( abs, and brake and traction control) quit coming on and the cruise is working again, I have been waiting on my stepson to bring his scanner over to see if the code (c2200-49) is stilled stored, doing the ign check just shows everything is okay..oh well will update again after he scans it and see if anything stored in the computer. oh well just another day in a dodge journey owners life....LOL
  12. I was just watching this video on a different vehicle but half way ( at 13;41 mark) thur he shows replacing the pulleys and they are to tight to get the belt on and he shows removing the bearing and threading the belt onto all the pulleys and then installing the last new pulley..... might need to try this to see if it works for you....................
  13. i would take both belts to wherever you bought them and compare it with another NEW belt, something sounds wrong as the old belt should NOT be stretched that much over what a new one is
  14. if you bought from a local part store they should have a diagram or be able to tell you which goes where ....or just goole the part number and i am sure that will show where it goes

  16. hard to tell over the internet, but if you can get it going then it drives fine, sounds more like engine problems as well as mentioned above replace your plugs, before doing anything else .
  17. as he said search the forum it has been done and discussed here quite a bit for thoes interested in it
  18. that bolt could have been a bit longer, hopefully the rust will bond it on there....LOL
  19. if you used you oil dip stick it should bottom out as it cant be put in to far,if your not sure if you marked the dip dtick right them you can buy a test stick from a part store............
  20. lol I was ready just to put a piece of black tape over the light BUT the wife didnt like that idea i told her hell i am 70 yrs old and drove cars for 40 yrs without all this fancy crap that is always messing up but as usual she won the argument and it only cost me around $ 300 to get some peace and quiet LOL
  21. after they did mine ( all 4 of them) they hooked up a different scanner and said they reset them all, but for around 2-3 days after they did that sometimes the light would still come on and then after that they light went off and stayed off i tried to unhook the module in the rear left upper wheel well but it didnt want to come undone for me so i left it and as i said then the light went off and no more problems,,,,,they did tell me that it was best to replace all 4 of the tpms as he said if you just replace the bad ones then sometimes it messes with the computers logic on the psi, dont know if that was true but decided to replace all 4 instead of just the bad ones....
  22. if you mark your dip stick like in the video OR go by a test dip stick that the part stores sell for our journeys when you add the fluid you go by the dip stick,,,i marked mine before i had the dealership change it and it came out right in the middle where it should be......and NO you will never remove the same amount of fluid every time, you could catch it all in a pan then measure it minus what you cant get out off the pan, and always use the correct trans fluid, not sure of what you are asking about cheap trans fluid if it is the correct type....as i said before fix your eng mounts BEFORE you mess with the trans just to see if it helps but you are coming due for the trans service.... JUST wondering have you had the journey checked for any set codes that might be in the memory? also why not have the trans looked at by your after market warranty for any info they may give you as well
