1. he might be talking about the kind where they replace your rear driving mirror with a bigger one that on one end of it will show the view from the rear of your journey. i have the 8.4 without a camera and they said that was all they could add and couldnt add the one that goes thur my screen. they wanted about $550. at the time. but i didnt have it done. still thinking about doing the lockpik camera but havent pulled the trigger yet...
2. check different dealerships on the price of the part.. years ago had to have some carpet in a van replaced so i had to get 3 different quotes for insurance work and expected different $$ on the labor but figured the carpet would be the same price, boy was i wrong got 3 estimates with 3 different prices on carpet and also on the labor
3. dealership or maybee a junk yard, i still cant get an air filter at auto zone yet for my 2011 guess ill pick one up at the dealer next oil change
4. i have a 2011 mainstreet with 3.6.last year i was driving from alabama to las vegas and avg about 24-25 straight freeway driving about 75mph thur oaklahoma, texas, new mexico coming back the same way i avg about 30-32 mpg for 3 tanks of gas.only on the way back the elavation on the road is downhill. i was happy with the mph but that doesnt mean my car gets 30 all the time, its what you get over the long haul not what a silly gage on the cars says. average mph in the city is 19- 20mph and about 24-25 on the road straight driving at about 75mph.also check out on google about K-N airfilters compared to OME paper filters done on lab testers. the K-N filters let more dust thur the filter than the OME filters did. JUST might want to check this out brfore buying one.
5. you are right if you changed the oil every 3k, but if you use syn. oil and change it every 8 -10 k then you are not wasting money.plus you WILL get better mpg by using syn oil, and not having to change it so often ,saving money and useing less oil . you are right as i never said i did leak down test or other procedures like i guess you did. my vans were used by my kids after i put 120k on them till they sold them with no engine problems.oh well keep changing your oil every 3k and good luck
6. the contaminants are caught in the oil filter and NOT sent back thur the enging as you are stating. that is the reason of the filter. yes you would be running the oil thur a slightly dirty filter but that is the job of the filter. and i have went 8 to 10k on my last 4 vans and my curent truck which s a 2001 dodge and they all never had any problems with the engines. but to each their own to what they like to do. i like to be able to go longer between oil changes as i put alot of miles on my cars while i was working. thank god that is history now. LOL
7. do you always change every 3 k i do mine every 8 to 10k when using synthetic oil.
8. ive done all my own brake jobs and have never turned new rotors and never have read that you should. oh well never had problems either guess ive been lucky
9.

check out this review ...ebay.com/Performance-quot-chips-quot-Do-they-re... if it was this easy to increase MPG and or H. P. the car compines would have put them on the cars from the factory. as they always want their cars to have more horse power and great gas mileage to help sell them and to meet goverment requirements on MPG. now it is possible to tune to get more power out of engines but that will not get you better MPG and you will have to run premium gas.if you to an engine to get better MPG you will lose HP. it is that simple to understand. also why is it the posters on here telling us about great gas mileage and or other gadgets that can be bought and put on your car with hardly any trouble have only just 2 or real low postings. they may be real but i suspect they are just spreading false or misleading info.... just be carefull before doing any thing to your new cars that might void your warrenty or damage your eng... IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE,well you know the rest. just my 2 cents worth. that saying has served me well for 59 years so far...........

10. dolphinsrule.. dodge care was just trying to explain the problem. and was offering to help if he could as was others, but as you said dont buy nothing online without seeing it before signing the paper work.i have never ordered a car i always buy off the lot that way i KNOW what i am getting. that way if there is any thing to be fixed on it it gets done BEFORE i sign the final paperwork. learned that a long time ago about the sales man promises are made to be broken.
11. you need to think out what you are saying or trying to type. most of your post doesnt make sense. If your order calls for a 22 f package and that includes the roof rack then contact the numbers in your manual to call the main office for help and tell them your dealer is not helping to correct the problem . make sure you keep copies of all paperwork and who you talk to names, dates, times. be nice and dont rant or rave ,keep your complaint short and to the point. hope every thing works out for you.
12. are you going to add the back up camera or did yours come with it?
13. my 2011 mainstreet does not have auto lights but my drls worked after i activaited them thur the radio..
14. i was checking the internet on the k-n airfilter and seen a story on how an independent lab did a test comparing regular paper filters and k-n filters and the reg filters act came out better than the k-n did.the k-n let more small particals of grit thur than the reg filters did and they also didnt improve performance amd mpg enough that a you would notice in real life trials. as i have had one experince with k-n in my 2001 dodge truck that i didnt notice any improvment in horse power or mpg,but at least i didnt have to clean it that often either, < which by the way is a pain as you have to wash them out and then let them dry anf then buy the special oil to reoil them with which isnt cheap, whole process takes a couple of hours to get it dry and put back in> so i paid about $35. for the filter and about $10. for the oil and i have 90k miles on the truck so i probaly could have bought reg air filters cheaper than the k-n... LOL oh well in hind sight . i wont be trying any k-n filter in my journey after all if it really helped out with better mpg or power dont you think chrysler would have put them in to help on their mandated mpg average.www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html
15. we had a minn-van all the gages started going crazy and the next day the van wouldnt start it was the battery going bad, replaced it and no more problems. hope that is all it is with your journey ,mopar batteries only last 2 or 3 yrs. max with all my cars. have the shop check your charging system also to make sure it is produceing enough current to charge the battery. good luck
16. think i would have waited another year or two before updating unless you do a lot of driving and using it for your job as wouldnt think that many new roads or other things that would need updating this soon after buying you 2011, i have been using my portable garmin for about 3yrs now and havent had any problems with roads and or finding my places that i have wanted to vist.. good luck on your update
17. no a cold engine gives a more accurate reading,a engine that has been running needs to sit for a few minutes before checking the oil but it will still have some oil that has not drained back into the pan for it to be the same as a cold engine , but not far off enought to be a concern JUST check your oil and coolant once a week or every other week .you never will know when you could have a problem or leaks that you dont know.after all you spent over 20k for the car only takes a few minutes time........
18. by the time the low oil light comes on you are in trouble, it is not a replacement method of not checking your oil or coolant. as low as you were was about 2 and half quarts low. any lower and damage could have been real bad. better keep an eye on your dipstick at least once every 2 weeks. only takes a few minutes and well worth the time. in case who ever changed your oil maybee doesnt tighen the oil plug tight or any other problem that comes up.........
19. from the factory they come in pre painted not sure about from repair places,
20.
good luck on your journey.sounds like you move alot . by the way how do you like the diesel engine in that size car and also how much does the diesel cost, and mpg. have always wanted one over in in the U.S. but chrysler never would use them in their vans or cars and since i worked for them that is what i have always bought. take care

21. have 15k on my 2011 with 17 inch kumo tires and dont have no problems. do you have 19 inch? sounds like most prople with the larger tires have alot of trouble with them. my son has a gmc truck with large tires 20inch i think has had all sorts of problems with them <goodyears> dealer never could get them balanced right he finnally went to walmart of all places and they got them balanced okay till they wore out early. he replaced them with michalins for a cost of about 1100. <U.S.> from cosco so far he likes them.
22. i called and talked to them and asked if it didnt work as promised or i didnt like them quality of the camera vidio could i return it . they said no but would help out to try and make any problem workable.
23. its not the 250 for the lockpik it is 338. total for both the unit and camera.. But it is the info that i have heard from a person on this blog that he cant get the lockpik unit and camera to work right and has been trying to get them to help him or return the unit. Would spend the money with no problems if i knew that the camera and unit sold by them worked great with clear vidio.Since he is the only one that i have heard from and hes not happy with them not sure i want to take a chance on a no return policey thur the mail
24. i have a 2011 with the 8 inch screen and have been wanting to add the back up camera as well, dealers cant do it,and i found a custom audio store that my son has used and they are top notch that said they can add it using my 8 inch screen and it would be just like factory installed.750. <U.S.>and gives a 1yr warranty. i asked him if he used costal techs lockpic and he said no,because he has too much problems with their product.i dont want to spend 750. to have it done but that has been the lowest bid i have found that uses the the radio that comes with our built in screens. i havent found anyone on this blog that has installed one that has like the add cameras. the one guy i talked to said his lockpic was interferring with his factory installed back up camera. also there is no return on the lockpic if you cant get it to work right at least that is what they told me when i called coastal about 3 months ago.
