  1. thank you for taking the time to reply on your fix, for others that may need to know
  2. Our journeys love a strong battery and will act crazy with a weak or bad battery, just charging it is not enough ,take it to be load tested at your local part store and also have them check the alt to make sure it is charging enough...also have them scan it for any codes that might have been stored as well Welcome to the group as well
  3. do a reverse flush to break it all loose
  4. i believe it just slides on BUT not for sure, maybe John who would know for sure will see this today he comes on here quite a bit...good luck
  5. my father had a rear side window in his caravan blow out yrs ago he thought someone had shot it with a bb gun,but the glas place said when a window is under stress and explodes the glass will always be thrown outwards unlike when hit from something then it goes inward as well,,,,LOL i have no idea on that but that is what he was told and it made him feel better that it wasnt done on purpose
  6. Separator - Mopar (05184144AC) 5184144ac MSRP:$22.80 Discount:$6.56 (28.8% off) Sale Price:$16.24 why take a chance ,not expensive, but it should still be okay...your choice or chance
  7. sounds like your heater core is plugging up for the right side, ( it is a 2 zone core) you could try to reverse flush the core, or just replace it but if you do replace it make sure you flush your system first and also did you USE the correct antifreeze when topping it off...check youtube for the quick way to replace the heater core
  8. same as mine i replaced thar part of the hose with the reg rubber hose didnt need any connectors
  9. i would first disconnect the line going to the front washers to see if you have weak pressure there if not then the washer nozzles are pluging up, if the flow is weak then i would try flushing out the washer bottle itself either by removing it or buy you a cheap fluid pump from harbor freight and remove the fluid and then refill the bottle several times to see if that helps with the pressure.. plenty of videos on youtube on how to remove the washer bottle if you go that route...also make sure you dont have any leaks in the washer hoses that might have went unnoticed thus causing weak pressure, from my experience the washer pumps are either good or bad at least on other older cars....good luck
  10. actually the old fill it till it runs out the top hole MIGHT not be the right advise...MY daughters 2016 jeep i seen the right front axle seal was leaking at the outer edge so i cleaned it up the best i could and then refilled the front differential and since it was still covered under warranty we took it too the dealership, and they at first said it wasnt leaking as there was no grease being sung into the wheel well but i corrected the service adviser to go look at the wheel well and look real close, as i had wrote down on the drop off form that i had cleaned it up but they could easily see a lot of grease was still left there,so they went ahead and repaired the seal and then they said well you over filled the difff and i could have damaged it by doing that so i told them well i just had to put almost a whole bottle of lube in there since it was almost dry and that i just filled it till it ran out the top hole and they said well that is the old advise but they said there is supposed to be just a certain amount and then some room for expansion as the diff were not built like the older models and didnt leave room if filled to the top....oh well at least that was there stance
  11. amazon has mopar ready mix coolant for around 14. and concentrate for 26. i just ordered a gallon of the ready mix to have on hand as the local part stores only sell the aftermarket coolant and i have heard to only use the mopar oat brand
  12. well i put 70 k on my 2011 with no problems on the rear struts and now have a 2014 with 138k with no problems on the struts, mostly would depend on road conditions and how you drive it i guess, struts havent been a big problem discussed on this blog,,,also by the way on my 2014 i carry my wifes 3 wheel scooter which weighs around 250 lbs and havent had problems with the rear struts but I did have the upper rear links changed out with adjustable ones...welcome to the group by the way
  13. i just had my 2014 oil cooler replaced last week at thye dodge dealership here in al. i have 138 k on it as well and like you a person could eat off my engine its that clean, i noticed it at my last oil change but just kept a close eye on it till i decided at this oil change to have it fixed, i was holding off due to my ABS module that went bad about 6 months ago and that part is on backorder as well, since i had the max mopar warranty it was covered with just a 100,ded but was hoping to get them both dones under the same ded but decided i didnt want to chance it on the oil leak the OEM oil cooler thur the dodge place is around 245 i believe and plus the install which John said around 2 hrs labor... BUT the part here in the U.S. is still available in stock, you might want to check on ordering one thur the U.S. dodge dealership and has been mentioned that t it would be a great time to replace the plugs as well since they should be done around the 100 k mark here is some from mopar discounted parts online........$174.plus tax and shipping https://www.mopardiscountedparts.com/oem Home 2016 Dodge Journey Engine Oiling, Oil Pan and Indicator (Dipstick) 68596317AA Engine Oil Filter Housing - Mopar (68596317AA) 2014-2022 Mopar MSRP:$250.00 Discount:$76.00 (30.4% off) Sale Price:$174.00
  14. did you bleed the air out of the system ? if not then that is what you need to do,,, plenty of videos on youtube that will show you the proper way if you are not sure on how to do it
  15. i used an after market wire kit,,,real easy and quick as well like you said under $50 and half an hour of install as well
  16. check rock auto for cheapest price found this on ebay,,,,,,,,you will also need the wiring to attach to the wiring harness,,,,,i believe it goes on the front passenger side just behind the light,,,,,your best bet is to go to a dodge dealership to get more info and price on the part and THEY will be able to give the exact location of the installed part and what other parts you will need as well...please report back on what you find For 2009-2018 Dodge Journey Hood Ajar Indicator Switch SMP 33696KV 2010 2011 (For: 2013 Dodge Journey) Opens in a new window or tab Brand New $34.34 autopartsgeek (227,636) 95.9% Buy It Now Free shipping
  17. well i went ahead and had the oil cooler unit fixed at the dealership as it seemed to be leaking a bit more and I didnt want to wait till i was on a trip and it goes out completely, new unit and gaskets and the threw in a free oil change as well and was covered under my max warranty with a $100 ded. no mention of the hours to replace it on the bill and also no mention of price on the parts but i would assume at least a $ 5-600 bill at least,,,,BAD thing is the said they have NO update on my abs unit that is on backorder oh well wait and see, i guess
  18. when posting please inform us of what engine and mileage for your vehicle.. you need to have it scanned for codes that have been created to know what seems to be the problem, any local part stores can scan it for free as well, with out the codes we would just be guessing...welcome to the group as well
  19. since it isn't in stock anymore guess your best bet would be a part salvage yard like lkq or such, can the top part removed and then and resealed with thread sealant or such? have you checked with the dealership if they have a exploded diagram of this unit???
  20. trq repair videos dodge journey is a link for all the different videos...this one is for upper rear lateral links.........
  21. your manual will tell you this info, or you can download a manual for free off the internet as well, since you dont say what the actual mileage on your journey as of now, it is a 3 yr 36 k bumper to bumper and 5 yr 60k on the powertrain warranty, also welcome to the group
  22. start by first making sure all the underneath plastic parts are secured tight
  23. well i am still waiting on my abs module from the dealership that was supposed to be on backorder till the first of the year, and since it will be covered under my ext. warranty that is why i am on the waitlist, but at my last oil change i noticed some oil collecting at the base of the oil cooler unit so i cleaned it out the best i could and there wasnt a lot just hard to get to and have been keeping an eye on how much it is leaking which isn't much ( i use about 2 cotton balls taped to a skinny stick it and it soaks it up real good so its not leaking bad) i plan on getting it replaced as well when they do the abs unit...that way i will only have to pay one deductible have 138 k on the journey and i do my own oil changes
  24. welcome to the group i also live in alabama, in the big town of Hartselle
