  1. nope it is the strut bearing mount, at least that has what has been told for the last 8 yrs, my 2014 makes it as well kind of irritating but have got used to it,,has been discussed to death on the forum,,,surprised you havent read about it...i dont remember it happening on my 2011 main street
  2. sounds like you got a deal on a journey with a lot of problems,as far as the ac that is probally a blend door actuator problem check out youtube for more info on thoes i believe there are 3 of them drivers passenger and one in the middle...as far as the rest for others to comment on...good luck and welcome to the group
  3. nope no rattling on mine and havent heard anyone else complain about it, i would put your journey on a lift or jack it up ou probally have something touching it underneath side, please report back on what you find out....Welcome to the group as well
  4. i hope you used the right group code battery , the battery post being to small sounds wrong .................2012 Dodge Journey Standard has a group code of 86,
  5. 120 Kilometers per Hour = 74.564543........ well you could reinforce it BUT i doubt that is the problem, most of the time when i noticed plastic parts making a noise it is more of a loud banging noise, I personally havent experienced the noise you are talking about,,, BUT i have also wondered about all the plastic fender well panels in all 4 areas being attached with just filmise push buttons, seems like they could make a lot of road noise while traveling down the road.
  6. advance auto was testing my battery one time on my 2001 truck and also the alt and then he printed out that my starter was reading low on current but he said dont worry about till it goes out that was around 10 yrs ago and my stepson is still driving it with no starter problems...LOL
  7. i am not needing any tpms, i was just wondering who actually has had to replace any and at how many yrs they got out of the OEM ones. i dont buy anything off ebay i just dont trust the quality and possibly counterfeit parts, yes i know i will pay a bit more locally but if i have problems at least it is easier to get the $$ back and or quicker to get the right parts .my daughter and her husband had some problems with some stuff they bought off ebay mostly was able to get it straightened out but they did get stuck one time with no satisfaction
  8. have you had it scanned for any codes? that will lead you in the right direction without throwing parts at it..... a solid warning light means you have a problem but still okay to drive it to get it fixed, a flashing warning light means to shut it off and have it towed or damage will happen to your journey...you might be able to clean it first before replacing it depends on your situation on $$ and parts available check out you tube for vidios on how to clean or replace such part but id get it scanned first for codes
  9. need to have someone scan it with a good scanner for codes,,,traction and abs lights can mean a lot of different things from a wheel speed sensor to a bad abs module as that is what i an waiting on for the dealership to get the module in stock come jan1
  10. so are you saying it has a clutch? probally the starter from all the info you gave us...LOL
  11. googled this on the lifespan of the TPM battery.......... TPMS Sensor Battery Replacement - My Vehicle Tires myvehicletires.com/tpms-sensor-battery-replacement The estimated life expectancy of an OE TPMS sensor is 5 to 12 years, with the average lifespan being 7 years. TPMS life expectancy is directly related to the number of radiofrequency transmissions the sensors make. Driving habits greatly influence the number of RF transmissions a sensor makes in its lifetime. How Best Do I Preserve My TPMS Battery?
  12. So we had a cold spell, almost got down to to 40 degrees, and my low tire light come on, so i fired up the air compressor and top them all off to 36 psi most were around 31-32 excet left front tire it was at 28 so I got to checking and yep found me a screw right around the inside tread wall, good thing i bought the tire warranty from discount tire so will be off to see them next week..but got me to wondering i have 133.5 k on the clock and its a 2014, so has anyone had to replace a TPM sensor in the wheel yet due to a low battery?
  13. great to hear you got yours fixed and as cheap as you did as well...take care
  14. better to pay a little now than have to pay a lot later,,,BUT you will pay when it breaks
  15. i have been running that size. 235 55 19 for yrs with the standard 19 inch Crossroad rims,,,actually you could go even bigger but some say they rub a bit in tight turns or you can grind off a bit of the strut base so it doesn't,,,i havent run the bigger size so i cant comment on it..check out the forum section on tires for a lot of info on this subject,,,also Welcome to the group as well
  16. you must have the 2.4 eng with the 4 spd trans, they might have the trans dip stick, as the 3.6 eng with the 6spd trans doesnt come with one..either way great to have you here and hope many carefree miles on journey
  17. welcome to the group, first engine off and check your power steering hot or warm no real big difference as long as it is between the marks.... also the coolant should not go below the mim when cold and not above the max when hot so mid level is best you need room for coolant so when the rad cap lets the coolant flow to the reservoir tank after getting hot and then sipion back when it is cooling off... Only check you do with the eng running and in park on level ground is the transmission level and as we dont have a dip stick with that you have to buy one or go on youtube and watch a video on how to mark your oil dip stick with a file to show where that fluid level should be.....P.S. i have always have filled all the brake fluid, coolant ,and power steering levels around 3/4 full above the min level as the dealerships /factory tend to fill to the bare minimum
  18. i have heard its not hard to do IF you have tools AND have the space AND have the experience on how to do it....CHECK out youtube for a vidio on how to replace the rocker arms assy here is a good one ....also 2 parts
  19. i posted above about this problem,BUT before you try to remove it you had better find the part you need before removing yours as the dealerships are backordered on them and i looked around at some different part stores and no has any, you might try a pull it yourself yard to find one and also youtube has a good video on removing it supposedly only 4 screws and then remove the electrical connector and then replace the rubber seals and then reinstall the new one and then take it to your local dealership for it to be sync to your journey for a charge of course........also here is one being replaced on a caravan......
  20. you say you replaced your terminals so did you replace the one with the battery temp connector as it is a special connector as john said?
  21. have your journey rechecked again at orileys for the alt charging properly and also load check the battery again, have to check the obvious first, always a possibility the second alt is bad as well,,,also what engine do you have?
  22. i didnt know our hatch doors were fiberglass? I Just went outside with a magnet and yep it doesn't stick to the hatch but sticks to the side of my journey,,,LOL learn something new every day on a vehicle that is 8 yrs old P.S. guess you can go after whoever did your rustproofing i guess
