  1. you must have the 2.4 eng with the 4 spd trans, they might have the trans dip stick, as the 3.6 eng with the 6spd trans doesnt come with one..either way great to have you here and hope many carefree miles on journey
  2. welcome to the group, first engine off and check your power steering hot or warm no real big difference as long as it is between the marks.... also the coolant should not go below the mim when cold and not above the max when hot so mid level is best you need room for coolant so when the rad cap lets the coolant flow to the reservoir tank after getting hot and then sipion back when it is cooling off... Only check you do with the eng running and in park on level ground is the transmission level and as we dont have a dip stick with that you have to buy one or go on youtube and watch a video on how to mark your oil dip stick with a file to show where that fluid level should be.....P.S. i have always have filled all the brake fluid, coolant ,and power steering levels around 3/4 full above the min level as the dealerships /factory tend to fill to the bare minimum
  3. i have heard its not hard to do IF you have tools AND have the space AND have the experience on how to do it....CHECK out youtube for a vidio on how to replace the rocker arms assy here is a good one ....also 2 parts
  4. i posted above about this problem,BUT before you try to remove it you had better find the part you need before removing yours as the dealerships are backordered on them and i looked around at some different part stores and no has any, you might try a pull it yourself yard to find one and also youtube has a good video on removing it supposedly only 4 screws and then remove the electrical connector and then replace the rubber seals and then reinstall the new one and then take it to your local dealership for it to be sync to your journey for a charge of course........also here is one being replaced on a caravan......
  5. you say you replaced your terminals so did you replace the one with the battery temp connector as it is a special connector as john said?
  6. have your journey rechecked again at orileys for the alt charging properly and also load check the battery again, have to check the obvious first, always a possibility the second alt is bad as well,,,also what engine do you have?
  7. i didnt know our hatch doors were fiberglass? I Just went outside with a magnet and yep it doesn't stick to the hatch but sticks to the side of my journey,,,LOL learn something new every day on a vehicle that is 8 yrs old P.S. guess you can go after whoever did your rustproofing i guess
  8. it could also be a cracked coolant reservoir tank, next time parking it put some paper down so you can see where it is dripping from as well,, also you could get the system pressure checked
  9. i just recently had the brake light ,abs and traction control light come as well, our local part stores checked for codes but theirs dont pull nothing up, but my stepson brought over his scanner ( a better one i guess ) and it came up with a code saying abs module bad internal fault) i sch a appt, with the dealership and they checked with their scanner and it said the same thing (c2200) and then told me they would order the part but it is on backorder till the first of Jan. 2023 so they ordered it for me.. i got to checking around and nobody seems to have them in stock but sense mine is covered under my max mopar warranty i have to wait and not use a aftermarket one..i hope your is NOT this problem,,,,,,my stepsons scanner is one he bought from harbor freight ZR11s OBD2 Code Reader with ABS $139.
  10. thanks for the write up and the pictures as well, as i said, before your folks are really lucky to have you helping them like this ,,,take care
  11. usually good enough for as long as it takes to sell it to someone else
  12. i am just watching a youtube video on the replacement and i do believe the hub is where the tone ring must be as it is in the same spot as the abs wire they mention the 118 foot lbs front and 181 ft lbs rear,, for the axle nut torque i am not sure if thoes are correct tho....
  13. well wouldn't hurt to put in a new wheel bearing hub as well since you have it tore apart, they are some lucky relatives to have you helping them,,good luck
  14. just wondering for others that might wonder ,how much did the dealership charge for this repair and glad it fixed your problem
  15. you could try to do the hard reset to see if that would change anything if you havent already tried that, sounds like you guys are just been unloading the parts cannon on this without having it checked out properly..What was the problem and codes from going into limp mode? I dont believe a bad alt wouldn't put it into limp mode, after sitting so long was the battery properly checked to see if it was still good? after rereading your post is it just the electronics acting crazy? will it start up and run? also which engine does it have?
  16. the 2012 had the smaller brake rotors and brakes and has problems with the warpaged of the rotors from overheating, the first one sounds like a good price but depends on the quality of their repairs and the vech. itself,,,,like i said before have a mech check it out real carefully ....good luck
  17. Recall Summary: Chrysler (fca us LLC) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Dodge journey vehicles manufactured April 21, 2012, to April 14, 2015. In the affected vehicles, water may enter the wiring harness for the anti-lock brake system (abs) module and leak into the module, disabling the abs and/or the electronic stability control (esc) system. How to Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will seal the abs wiring harness to prevent water from entering and will replace the abs module and repair the headlamp and dash wiring harness, as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on December 21, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is r61.
  18. have no idea if you should buy it,,,AC work can get expensive and if he filled it then yes there is a leak .. no mention of miles? price? or other features,,,good luck on what you decide but i would have a mechanic check it out for damage that you can't see and what he thinks about the rng and trans, does it come with a good title and not a rebuilt title.
  19. well for certain it wouldn't be due to your battery charger at home to cause a vibration when idling at a light,,, with them saying that i wouldn't trust them no more to work on it,,, might want to run some gas treatment thur your tank for the next 2-3 fill ups. also when was the last time the plugs were changed ?as well for the air filter,, could be many things as as a 13 yr old car keep us informed and good luck
