Alternator, Battery, ETC....HELP PLEASE!!
2late4u replied to Smitty21's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
More likely a bad battery or loose dirty connections at the battery,if battery is more than 3 yrs old just replace it and then have the alt checked- 13 replies

Persistently blowing power steering hose
2late4u replied to RodOracheski's topic in Engine & Transmission
good question for the dealership to answer,,,,,, please report back on what you find out -
are you losing any coolant? change out your rad cap as well...how overheated did you get it? have the engine head checked for crack or bad head gasket,is your heater core working as it should heat inside the journey?
-
well I would fill the journey up with gas and see which is the accurate one, also reset your trip odd as well and then until you get it fixed go by your mileage on the trip or reg gas gage if it is reading correct as well...you could try removing the battery cables at the jump points under the hood and leave them off for 20 minutes or so and then reconnect them to see if that resets your gas light,,,if this doesn't help them looks like a trip to the dealership is in order

Might be time to have the dealership OR a qualified garage check it out YES they charge a dig charge but I have always found they apply such charge towards the repair, sounds like you have covered most of what you can, time to let the pros check it out.please report back on what you find out to be your problem for others to learn from

P0302 Code then....overheating. HELP!
2late4u replied to DodgeBruhBoy's topic in Engine & Transmission
go ahead and check it cold if needed to add some go ahead and add some THEN mark it real good with a black marker at the cold level and then later on after running it normal amount of time and then mark it again after it has set a bit to show the full mark and then check it every day for a couple of weeks and then once a week after that also a good time to check all the other fluids like power steering and brake fluid and the oil level -
mostly I believe the bumper covers are kind of generic for all brands, have seen them on many different makes, dealership would be able to give you a more definite answer to your question,,good luck and please report back on what you find to be your answer

2017 SXT Voltage bouncing around
2late4u replied to Altestry's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
since you said the alt and the battery has been changed and then the prob developed I would also check your battery cables to make sure they are clean AND tight we had one person complain of some problems and then later on said m bad one of the cables wasn't tight making intermittent contact causing their problems, it is can be the simplest and and hardest problems to find loose connections and bad grounds as well on dodges -
2017 SXT Voltage bouncing around
2late4u replied to Altestry's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
I do believe its NOT the IBS sensor,, FIRST find the noise /grinding that is your main problem and yes if your running the battery down the electronics will act crazy.when it is running have the alt checked at your local parts store to see if its putting out the correct charge also .check your idler arm pulley and the belt tensioner for the grinding noise before replacing the IBS as it is expensive part,,do the cheap or free stuff before throwing parts at the journey,,,also please report back on what you find to be the problem /solution for others to learn from...good luck -
harbor freight would be the cheapest place for the tool

the cube worked on my 2014 with no problems

or the belt tensioner and or idler pulley as well, have it checked out for the noise problem first try using a eng stethoscope/long screwdriver against different engine parts that might be making the noise...after you find the problem, that should let your battery charged back up unless the new alternator is not working properly,,even new parts can be bad -

P0302 Code then....overheating. HELP!
2late4u replied to DodgeBruhBoy's topic in Engine & Transmission
your plugs should be changed every 30 k ,iles also only use OEM plugs they are cheap and easy to replace as far as the overheating exactly what happened how hot did it get? did you lose any coolant? probally you just need to replace the thermostat unit on your journey I believe there are 2 of them in the plastic unit as I have the 3.6 and it is a different type that is used instead of the 2.4 only use Mopar coolant when adding to your cooling system...good luck -
hard to say over the internet, have a local garage check it out if you are not so inclined to check it out yourself, very well could be a cracked thermostat housing kind of common on the 2,4 make sure you replace the whole unit and use the CORRECT MOPAR COOLANT don't use the advertised one coolant for all vehicles it cost more but it is very important not to mix them

Well you will get what you pay for when buying cheap brake parts.....BUYING quality parts for all four wheels ( 4 rotors and 2 sets of pads) WILL run over $200 even if you are doing it yourself
-
since the abs light is off it,shouldn't be the abs uni,t but that unit is considered a priority software code and can only be diagnosed with the higher quality scanners, I just had my abs unit replaced thur the dealership with a long backorder wait on the unit but mine had the c2200-40 code sometimes the dealership which is more expensive can come out cheaper and quicker than just throwing parts at the journey..good luck and please report back on what you find to be the problem and the fix for others

I don't trust ebay due to counterfeit parts

I bought my last rotors on Amazon they were name brand rotors,I didn't notice but you can buy the heavy duty/police rotors for just a few dollars more I would have got them,,cheaper than your local part stores as well... never have used slotted and or drilled rotors have heard they can cause a noise issue check out you tube for more info on slotted ,drilled rotors,,,and in use akebono brake pads off amazon as well they are the oem manufactures brake pads they use

buy OEM,you get what you pay for
