actually i just went to o'reilly's close by my house and they had one for a fwd 2014 journey and they showed it to me and there is no visible tone ring being shown but it was listed for an abs vehicle, and the parts guy said they are built inside the metal casing,,, one thing i would point out tho is to look for one with the rubber boot that has about 5 ribs on it as a couple yrs ago i had to replace several cv axles on my daughter's mail vehicles and i was using advance auto at the time and the ones they had only a 4 rib rubber boot and for most people that might last them, but my daughter did a lot of tight turns with her caravan and the boots would rip or split, last one i went to oreillys and that one never ripped or split.................BUT before replacing the cv axle i would contact your local dodge dealership and ask them where is the tone ring located, either the cv axle or the actual wheel bearing, i would hate to take a part store sales person to tell me where the tone ring is located as it could be located in either part,, good luck and will be wanting to hear the results on this repair

welcome to the group i assume the plugs have been changed per sch at 100k? -
after checking cv axle for our journey looks like there is no tone ring on it and now i believe it is built into the bearing,,,maybe John/Horace or one of our other members will chime in on this one he is more on top of things than i am

Welcome to the group,,,,,could also be the wheel bearing going bad, also i believe the tone ring is built onto the cv axle,, when doing tight circles left and right in a parking lot is there any noise such as clicking in either direction would point to a bad cv joint, is the wheel spinning okay with no noise or shake, good luck on what you find out and please report back on what you find to be the problem for others should they have such a problem,, also when you replace the wheel sensor did you check to see if dirt or anything was down in the sensor hole, might try blowing it out with some compressed air just in case

2014 Journey 2.4 fuel system issues
2late4u replied to Blufalcon131's topic in Engine & Transmission
needs to be scanned with a good scanner,, my 2014 3.6 keeps coming up with brake light, lightning bolt light and ABS light,,,as well thought it might be a wheel speed sensor but ended up being the abs module,,, so many different reason for the lights so get it scanned and your local part store scanners are not good enough for some of the codes... oh and by the way my abs module is on order with the dealership they said it should be here around jan of 2023 i am lucky not to be having any other systems then the lights the brakes are still working okay -
plus the 3rd rear seats are not that easy or spacious as well ive had both and my 2014 is the 2 row version but i do wish i had the dual air system as it does a better job cooling the journey

dodge journey 3.5 V6 2009 Engine vibration
2late4u replied to Salah-Belkhodja Abdeslem's topic in Engine & Transmission
John makes a good point about the eng mounts and other things,,, yrs ago my daughter was buying a 1998 jeep cherokee that had a bad motor but it was going to be replaced before she got it,,well long story short they put in a junkyard motor that was almost on its last legs but it dfid run so i was doing some maintenance as changing the fluids on the transfer case ( it didnt have a bit in there) and the rear punkin it had some but needed some fluid when i noticed left side motor mount was missing a bolt and when i checked the others most were real loose and a few other things..daughter says dad the jeeps goes into 4 wheel drive so smooth now i laughed and said ya having some fluids in really helps -
would be interesting to know from which climate the the wires seem to break the most, havent really heard from drivers in the south with the wires breaking as we have from the northern states and Canada extreme cold and opening and closing the hatch seems to be what would be the cause also probally cheap or undersized wire gage as well

Highest Mileage Journey... Who's in it for the long haul?
2late4u replied to jeffhoward001's topic in Owner Impressions
i had a 2011 and traded it in on my 2014 and have 131 k on it but i also bought the lifetime unlimited miles and yrs as an extra precaution as i plan on keeping it till i die i was looking at my policy the other day and it says my warranty expires in the year 09/04/2097 so i guess i am covered for a while -
dont really know what gage wire but most reg wire for speakers and it would take longer but might be good idea to just cut and splice and use shrink wrap on all the wires so you won't have to do it again later on down the road and welcome to the group

actually i tried to upload the picture but i am techannlly chanaged...LOL but if looking at the seat side cover you have 2 plastic clips that hold it on and it has been the front one that tears up on my passenger side so i just get the rear clip hooked on and then place the cover where it looks to fit on the front and then try to push it down just a hair and then drill towards the front about 2-3 inches back and about the same from the top you will either hit the metal or the plastic behind the cover then install the screw . on my 2014 i had katzkin leather company install a seat warmer as my journey didnt come with them and when he installed the rocker switch for the heater on the side he didnt get it in the right place so the rocker switch bulges out a bit, but i didnt noticed in time to have them fix it proper so i just added another screw by the switch as well...when my daughter comes over ill try and get her to download the picture, but you should be able to do it
-
both my 2011 and then my 2014 on passenger side the plastic side cover would break,,,simple solution for me was a small black screw, simply hold the cover in place and then drill a small hole then run the screw in to it and have never had any more problems, hardly even see the screw after a while

after looking at yours i went out and looked at mine, first off the whole side panel is not locked into the correct position, and where it is broke and letting the belt slide up onto the side of the panel looks to be the problem,in the meantime while you are searching for a replacement side panel you could try and use some jb weld or other such glue to mend the crack that is letting the belt get caught up in,,,best place to find that side plastic cover would be the dealership,or a parts/ junkyard, and or stop by any body shop and they should be able to order that part from one of their part suppliers.. be warned there is an airbag or airbag sensor behind that plastic cover piece,,,,, the covers are usually just push in /snap in connector holding it in and can be damaged while removing it...good luck and please report back when you get it fixed for others that might have this problem

Poor heat on outside air/Good heat recirc mode
2late4u replied to 5rebel9's topic in Climate Control
from the angle of the part and the seat might have paid to remove the drivers seat just for the sake of making it easier to access the heater core LOL a few months ago i replaced the cabin air filter on my grandsons 2018 altima and well that will be the last time i will do it, they couldn't have have put it in the worst place and angle as well, i hurt for days after doing it took me over an half hr to get it in there right -
do you have a security system on it? i would disconnect the battery at the remote post and let it sit for 10 minutes or so then reconnect it,,,kind of like rebooting your computer,,good luck BUT after getting it started i would still get the battery load checked at your local part store

2late4u replied to 5rebel9's topic in Climate Control
might want to replace your thermostat as well since you will have to bleed the system anyways really easy on the 3.6 around $20-25 for the part, had to do mine earlier this yr as well,, i am sure your aware of the youtube shortcut on replacing the heater core,, good luck and take care -
LED taillight conversion
2late4u replied to Shoeman's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
just replace your regular bulbs with leds,,,also if it bothers you on hper lash you load resistors on the turn signals,,,,by the way when the OEM led tail lights go bad you have to replace with OEM tail lights as they are non serviceable from what i have read
