  1. to be honest i just went out and checked my 2014 crossroad 3.6 and when i go to the manual shift it does say D and then when i push to the + it shows 1 and then as i accelerate it goes up 2,3,4, and so on
  2. are you driving with it in the auto selection? If driving in Drive ,then that is the only info you will get,,,,,or are you shifting it with the gear selector manually? I never have had heard of any other thoughts on this
  3. hardly have any yellow color of rust much less rust...LOL sure do love the south for that,,,whatever happens ill make sure to report back on the cause the fix, guess ill just let it go until the lights stay on full time as it is not causing any driving problems so far just my mind saying fix that dam light/problem it happened this moring while on vacation so i turned the car off and then back on and then drove for 6 hrs back home and still no light...oh well thats life
  4. well I have started having these lights coming on and figured well 1 of my wheel sensors going bad ,as i had it happen couple yrs ago,, so with the lights on i took it to the local parts store and they checked with their scanners but it didnt show anything even with the lights on, I have been told only the dealers or garages with the high dollar scanners can read which sensor or wheel bearing is going bad,,, the thing is tho this has been happening for a week so far and if i stop and turn the car off and then wait a few seconds then restart the car and take off no more lights for a few days,,,, so i removed the wheels from the front and removed the sensors and wipe them clean ( they really wasnt dirty and then blowed some compressed air into the hole and on the left side a tiny bit of something hit my forehead and i thought ah that was the problem but alas it wasnt,,,also really cant take it into the dealership till it really craps out as they cant fix something they cant replicate ,,i do have the max mopar warranty but with the 100 ded so i guess ill have to wait till it completely dies before taking it in,,,i also checked all the connections that i could reach both the rears and fronts but didnt bother trying to remove the rear sensor as it is kind of buried under the brake shield and pads,,,LOL guess i was getting lazy, checked the grounds that i could find up by the under the hood connecter and they were clean and tight, and no battery problems as well, checked the wheel bearings by spinning them and shaking them and they all seemed great have 2014 crossroad 131 k on the clock, of course the front wheels dont spin as free as the years since it is FWD. any ideas?
  5. swap the number 1 cly coil to the #4 coil plug to see if it is the coil or something else
  6. just the color and smell, BUT i would assume the worst and do a coolant and thermostat service and pay close attention to the hoes as they might be over 13 yrs old, and change out the transmission fluid and filter as well, might want to clean out the power steering fluid as well, and take a close look at your serpentine belt for cracks and damage
  7. you can buy a correct aftermarket dip stick if your not sure
  8. well i have a 2014 and i also marked my oil dipstick according to the youtube video and then also checked my trans level and everything lined up according to the marks so I would imagine that is your problem that you are low on transfluid on your 09 model, that said you didnt mention how many miles you have on your journey so i would first start by having the fluid and filter changed of course if you are that low on fluid your transmission might possibly be damaged but that is the chance you are taking by not having it checked by the local dealership or transmission shop...have no idea on the cruise control working intermittently
  9. Ernesto Flores 3 months ago @therealjoethebro Whenever the brake pedal position sensor is removed and reinstalled or replaced with a new unit, it is necessary for the Antilock Brake System (ABS) module to calibrate the reinstalled or the new sensor. Follow the programming steps outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for the “ABS Initialize” routine under “Miscellaneous Functions” for the “ABS Module” menu item as appropriate. REPLY
  10. they can be bought at most local auto stores,i bought a big assortment off amazon for dodge vehicles a lot cheaper than the local auto part stores
  11. i would replace the plugs first before doing anything else as bad plugs can cause an erratic driving pattern ,as such thinking of you having trans problems or water in gas as well,,do the simple things first that also cost the least
  12. first i would siphon the gas out of your tank since you SAY the local gas station\ had a breach of their tanks then refill half a tank and then add some dry gas ( product helps remove water from the tank)
  13. also fuel filter is in the tank non serviceable on most new cars not sure if you have one on a 2009 that you can change as mentioned i would add a couple of cans of dry gas to your tank and then change your plugs as well and might as well check your air filter
  14. first off to check / add trans fluid is to look towards the right front of the eng between the rad and engine you will see a tube with a cap on it that is your transmission fluid filler, check youtube for the video on how to mark your oil dipstick so you can check your trans fluid level..i marked mine with a small file on the edge of the stick,,,,also if needing trans fluid make sure you use the correct fluid
  15. so what are your codes showing since you have the check engine light on? also have you done the 100k transmission service?looks like you have around 140 k as of now, sounds like a trip to the transmission shop might be in order, good luck and report back on what you find out to be your problem
  16. journeys like a strong battery, when they get low the electronics go crazy,,,,have someone give you a jump or just replace the battery look on youtube for info on how to do it or pay your local garage to replace it
  17. mine (2014)would sometimes show up upside down but then would revert to normal view and then started not working and then restart working again it i did that for about 6-7 months before it finally went out for good, i took it in as i had an extended warranty with a 100 ded they said it was the actually camera lens in the lift gate,,,, i wonder if it was just a loose wire or connection, who knows good luck on finding out what the problem is,,,just wondering did they cover the cost of replacing the radio?

    My New Journey

welcome to the group.nice looking journey
  19. update after putting the stant gas cap on, they said it would take a couple of days for the gas cap light to go off, i did take a small piece of real fine emery paper and cleaned around the steel tank nozzle lip and then used a bit of silicone grease around the o ring gasket early today and after a couple short trips the light has went off,,,glad for that
  20. great that you got drain on your trans pan,as most dont,,one thing i use to do yrs ago, the daughter had not done her trans service on her postal caravan so instead of dropping the pan and changing most of the fluid out (which can cause the trans to start acting up from what i have read) i would every so often use a suction tube down the trans filler tube and suck out about a quart or whatever amount i could get out, then i would add back the same amount of fresh fluid, it took several times but the fluid began to look red again and she never had no problems with the trans slipping or anything by doing it slowly......would be a great way to do this to our trans since we have no dip stick and is a simple way of keeping the fluid fresher between having a trans service done
