from a dodge dealership up in michigan over the internet,,,,mine doesn't cover batteries or wear items.....and yes the 09 came with the lifetime warranty as they were trying to assure everyone that chrysler was going to stay in business,,,,,,if you check on it i know if my repair cost more than what the car is worth they will only cover up to that and the rest is on me and then they can void the warranty. and yes also dodge doesn't offer this max warranty any more

use a code reader and or go to your local car part store they usually will read the codes and be able to tell you what MIGHT be wrong otherwise you are just guessing...yes with thoes lights on it is usually a wheel speed sensor and fairly easy to replace and not very expensive, that said not sure on the awd light as i dont have awd but they do need to be serviced at certain intervals,,,but on mine the abs light and traction control light and came on when it was a speed sensor..........you could just remove each wheel and right behind the hub is a bolt that holds the sensor in the hole just remove it and wipe it off DONT use any brake cleaner on it and make sure everything looks clean and then reinstall the sensor and bolt....my daughters jeep patriot light came on and there was some trash in the hole blocking the sensor from activating the signal to the main computer,I cleaned it off and drove it a few miles light went off and no more problems

i also had never thought much of the ext warranties myself but after having my 2011 70 k with no big prob, i traded it in on my 2014 and ended up buying the lifetime warranty on it over the internet cost me $2200 for it, LOL my local dealership wouldn't even sell the lifetime one, as i really liked the style of the journey. I have had to use it 2 times so far nothing real big both visit would have cost me over (1k together) but only had to pay 100 each visit so around 800 so i am still in the hole for a while which is fine with me....LOL

there are 2 different oil filters for the 3.6 , also change your own oil as most places will over tighten the oil cap and can crack the housing, it uses a o ring to seal

do what does the info system tell you what the engine coolant temperature is? should be around 195 -203 after fully warmed up, probally the state is sticking open i am surprised you dont have a engine light due to you saying it is around 70 according to your scanner,,,as i mentioned i would install a new thermostat

so which eng? check the records on the maintenance that has been done on it? if 3.6 eng won't be long for the plugs and transmission service along with the coolant service as well and these services are not cheap, 2.4 eng plugs are very easy and cheap to change...journey probally won't ride as well but i have had a 2011 which i traded in on with 70 k for my 2014 crossroad 122 k on it now , both had the 3.6 eng i really love my journey

were the battery post cleaned and tightened properly ? also check the ground in the upper part of the fender, clean it off good and make sure the other grounds on the car as well, ? reason i am saying this as all the symptoms point to a weak or bad battery or lack of a strong current as the electronics go crazy with a bad battery, hopefully some else will chime in with better advice.good luck

i think you are confusing that engine with the 3.6 that does route coolant thur the oil cooler, that said his response to adding oil but that wasnt the problem then notices coolant tank empty then refills it then it is low again after driving and sees it leaking he needs to take it to a qualified garage for a diagnostic and repair

ECS / TCS coming on how to diagnose?
2late4u replied to aviator79's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
just fixed my daughters patriot tonight the abs, 4 wheel drive, esp lights came on couple days ago she had a bad rubber boot on her LF cv axle rot away so she had it replaced just a couple of days ago, so she got had it scanned at auto zone and it came up as L F speed sensor just like i thought it would be,so I removed the tire and removed the bolt holding the sensor in and it was covered in thick road grease and grime ,cleaned it off put everything back together again, took it for a drive and everything is fine again -
so what was the problem?

What causes a P0303 code? Code P0303 Causes Cylinder 3 misfires can be caused by many reasons from a faulty ignition system, fuel system, or internal engine failure. The most common reason for this to happen is faulty or worn-out spark plug coil packs, especially if it's been a while since you had a tune-up.

if you have a 3.6 it uses a 203 degree stat. normal temp should be between 195 to 210 IF your rad fan is working properly
-
well i would assume changing the thermostat and flushing the system and using new coolant would be easier and cheaper than the heater core replacement but being a 2009 probally needs it all done
-
proper coolant Temp is 197-203 degrees in the info system also eng coolant needle on the dash gage should be straight up and down in the middle between cold and hot
-
just replaced my thermostat in my 2014 3.6 so easy to get to i have 122 k pn mine cost was less than $20,for the complete unit and just 2 bolts to undo and the use the bleed screw to get the air out
-
the mast just screws in from the top side ,guess you tried to replace the whole thing. dont know why the journey wont start as there is no power going to the antenna, hopefully someone will post some help..how old is the battery in your journey?

2late4u replied to Hckynut56's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
try disconnecting the negative battery cable at the top side post for a few minutes then reconnect, kind of like rebooting your computer,,,hope it helps -
as john said make sure you get the correct mopar antifreeze fluid as they will tell you at the part stores that what they sell is compatible with mopar and the bottles will say that it is compatible with all antifreeze no matter what color you have vs their green stuff,,,,,,, i am not a mechanic and cant say if thats true of=r not but why take a chance to save a few bucks
