Won't start, AWD light comes on
2late4u replied to jdentinger's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
well if the battery is the oem them yes you need a new one, i have a 2014 and already changed mine out 3 times once when my Daughter need one and mine was 2 yrs old i gave her my old one, i usually replace mine every 3-4 yrs just to be safe and not have a problem in the cold rain or on a trip since it is in such a hard place to get....just makes sense -
Issues after trans solenoid pack replacement.

yes your right the jeep uses a different transmission that doesn't have a replaceable filter without tearing it apart, but the journeys do have one which only makes sense, guess they think they will make more $$ off it i guess -

actually i dont think the the 2,4 trans has a filter as on my daughters jeep 2.4 the dealership said the filter is not replaceable without dissembling the transmission they just replace the fluid -

still no mention of miles ,but doing a flush like posted before was the worst thing you can do to a non maintained trans, have always herd that will make the trans go bad quicker due to all the new fluid , have a feeling a rebuilt trans is in your future -
i grew up about 20 miles from Woodward Ave... almost every fri or sat night we were cruising it and racing from stop light to stop light, trying to not get caught from the cops.. LOL what a way to grow up and also going over to Windsor Canada for a quick bite to eat and and hit all the nudie clubs that would let us in,,,,,,wouldn't get home till around 4-5 am.....had a good friend that his neighbor father was an engineer and worked at Chrysler and he was always bringing home sleeper cars that they would build but look like and old ladies car and he would always be going down to Woodward and race and and show it off to the local car racers to get their opinion on what Chrysler had going for street racing

sounds like you need to find a qualified mech to fix this problem as your reg mech really doesn't seem to know anything about AC work and as from the questions you are asking us here on the blog indicates you are not applicable as well to find the problem ...not being mean its just AC work requires special tools and equipment and the know how to use it as well, also it can get real expensive real quick as well this NOT something that can be diagnostic over the internet,,,ask around of your friends for dealerships or shops that specialize in ac work as well....good luck and report back on what you find out

I have a 2014 ,3.6 ( couple of yrs ago) that the oil pressure maxed out high as well on a out of town trip,( around 60 k on it at the timer), ended up being the oil pressure senor gone bad that is why it was reading high they said,,,they said a lot of 2014 were having this problem due to vendor problem,, the sensor is on the side of the eng on the drivers side,,,really hard to get to you can google you tube for the shortcut on replacing it if you are capable to do it................I am NOT sure the oil pressure senor is the same thing as the vvt warning you are getting... so check it out good luck

with a warning ticket there is no cost on them, also if you notice i never see any Texas plates with lic plate covers on them.....LOL they are strict there on that i guess
-
welcome to the group, what do you mean top box? also be aware of the undersized brake rotors on your 2011 easy to warp had one myself after going with just some regular good aftermarket rotors i didnt have much problem tho,, there is a way to upgrade them to larger rotors and pads look thur the forum part under brakes if you want to go thur that work tho
-
hmm better not go thur Texas with that, with the camera blocking over the top of the plate partially cover the states name, we know yrs ago we were going out to Vegas and the wife was driving and we got pulled over he said she made an illegal lane change and gave her a warning ticket and also gave her a warning ticket for the lic plate cover that i had on there that had a small eagle on it that partially covered up part of the Alabama on the tag and it was just a small part of it as well,,,maybe he was just trying to make his quota LOL oh well the next stop i removed the plate cover tho......

i have always been told when a part is installed at the dealership 12 months /12 k warranty, but if it has yo be replaced again the warranty stays from when the first part was installed,,,, might want to go directly to corporate use the Ph # back of your manual or get it from the dealership.be nice and keep all your info organised and safe, good luck
-
wow great payout on the journey, and great buy in on the other suv,,take care
-
under load all it is a plastic trim piece LOL , op doesn't give mileage so i assume its out of warranty might use some double sided tape as well,, your way of buying clips from the part dept would cost $10-15 depending if he does more damaged removing it to install new clips

2018 Sputters when I stop accelerating uphill
2late4u replied to mathmagician92's topic in Engine & Transmission
also agree with the dont flush your trans advise i believe the 4 spd trans should be changed at 60 k good luck as this can be a hard thing to chase down P.S. could maybe a coil or short in a coil wire, same thing happened yrs ago on a van the wire inside the connector would short out at times and then run fine at times, also i had a boat almost brand new that would run great at idle and low speed but try to go fast enough to plane out and it would choke out lost a whole summer as the boat mech said be 2 months before we could check it out,,,LOL ended up being a anti-siphon valve between the tank in the front of the boat going to the engine at the rear it was stuck in the mid position leaving just enough gas to run but act up when trying to get up to speed -

what kind of plugs did you use, i only use the chap NGK plugs off amazon for my daughters jeep patriot that has the 2.4 engine about 12 for four of them as they are the OEM plugs that the engine came with, the last ones i got they were out of the cheaper ones and sent us the more expensive kind but after 20 k she started having a miss with it so i went to auto parts store and they kept trying so sell me the same more exp. ones acting like that was all they had i kept up till he said here are the other ones....i change them out every 30 k NGK 2262 V-Power Resistor Type Spark Plugs ZFR5F-11 - 4 PCSNEW Brand: NGK 4.7 out of 5 stars 498 ratings | 25 answered questions List Price: $33.97 Details Price: $11.99 -
oh and by the way,,,, welcome to the group
-
they are held on by plastic push pin clips, if you remove it and then probally have to replace the pin if you can find one ..or simply take a bit of clear silicone inbeteen the 2 panels and then wedge a pole or board to hold it tight and in place till it dries,,that is what i would do
-
hate to see you go, take care and have any idea on the next ride?
-
So if you unplugged it and then removed it and you knew it wasnt OEM ,and the journey still runs fine ,why ask what this plug is for as it was NOT OEM, and the dealership said to remove it, and we had to drag info out of you trying to help, Trying to not being a dick but DAM,
-
well,, yes that is not OEM any one can tell that.......so was a wire hooked up to the connector ?
