2014 3.6 and i very seldom see the change oil message,as i always change my oil out between 5-6 k also use syn oil as well
-
transmission is different on the 2.4 compared to the 3.6 trans, with the 3.6 no dipstick, so this engine comes with the older 4 spd trans....are you saying your rpm are 2-3 at idle? also did this just start happening or has it gradually over a period of time? did it start after changing your plugs? did you use OEM plugs? wonder if the throttle body valve is dirty. good luck and let us know what happens

Tpms "service tire pressure system" code (pics included)

since it is all of them, might be the receiver for the signals then, which will be a trip to the dealership or a garage that handles such repairs or a black section of electrical tape to cover up the warning so it doesn't bother you if you decided to go without fixing it,good luck and report back on what you find out is causing your problem -

TPMS Life Expectancy The estimated life expectancy of an OE TPMS sensor is 5 to 12 years, with the average lifespan being 7 years. TPMS life expectancy is directly related to the number of radio frequency transmissions the sensors make. Driving habits greatly influence the number of RF transmissions a sensor makes in its lifetime. For example: sensors usually transmit when the vehicle is stopped and transmit more often when in motion. Maintaining a constant speed, such as when you're on a highway, reduces the demand on TPMS sensors and allow the sensors to transmit less often. Drivers who often find themselves driving in start-and-stop type traffic will have a greater impact on the vehicles tire pressure monitoring sensors. Weather can also have an impact on tire pressure sensor battery life. Cold conditions allow batteries to last longer. Warmer conditions take more of a toll on TPMS battery life -

sorry for the mistake, as everyone can make one even you.......So you have the 2.4 motor? I thought(but not sure) by the 2012 model both had the 6 speed 62te. I haven't played with the 4 sp...... as i said sorry for the misinformation -

i didnt say the dodge 2.4 engine was a gm the original poster said the 2.4 L 4 is what he has it IF you google that number it comes up as a general motors engine ( GM 2.4 Liter I4 Ecotec LEA Engine ) that said a dodge 2.4 L 4 tiger shark engine does come up as well and it is used with the 4 spd trans not the 6 spd that the 3.6 uses -

when i google 2.4 L 4 it comes up as a general motors engine..... 2012 Dodge Journey Review & Ratings | Edmunds www.edmunds.com/dodge/journey/2012/review The 2012 Dodge Journey SE is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. A four-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive are... -
NOPE he is right on a cold start the oil pressure goes high and then slowly comes down as the engine heats up as well as the oil till it rest at idle,,,, and then if you race the engine the pressure goes up and then when you let off the gas it comes down....

hard to tell from here, i always replace all the parts associated with a repair job only makes sense good luck on your problem

my son just had a noise coming from his truck that had a 318 engine that was making a noise he thought belt or tensioner so he replaced that stuff first ...ended up being his water pump and also while replacing that he replaced the clutch fan as well...noise gone it was the water pimp bearing going out with no leaks as well

Just went and checked mine as well yep it will start in neutral as well,,,,THE plot thickens.....i know the older ones were a mechanical switch or linkage and i would assume the newer ones are electrical, might be a problem there......also the battery cable has a battery temperature sensor built into one of the cables that when it goes bad it wont let the car start.good luck

Best NGK Spark Plugs for for 2014 3.6 L FWD ???
2late4u replied to Kev100's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
while i will replace the plugs on the 2.4 patriot that my daughter has which is a easy straight forward job doing it on the 3.6 is a different story and since it is only done every 100 k or around 8 yrs life is to short for such aggravation ,,the same for the trans service as well what extra i pay the dealership to do it is well spent especially since i have the mopar max warranty so if something comes up they cant say well you did something wrong while replacing this stuff....and also being 68 yrs old and getting a bit shaky as well figures into this as well....LOL -
while i usually use the discount tire store in town, they have been running super great deals from the discount online site as well and the thing about doing it besides the better discount is if you buy the tire protection plan on line the tires i am looking at it is around $11 per tire and at the store it is around $16-19 per tire and also the tax online is about $24 cheaper than at the tire store as well, now they said well we can meet the price on the tire and also the protection plan but cant charge less on the tax...............only problem i ever had with their service is 1 time i had the r-bal done and then about 2 days later i went to do something under the car and thought well i remove the tire and my lug nut socket wouldn't fit on 2 of the lugs on the wheel .WTF so i checked the other lugs and found more of them deformed as well and yes i know the 2 pcs lugs from dodge tend to deform over the years but i found around 12 of them at this one time so i called them and told them about it and they tried to say about the cheap OEM lugs and i agreed with them, BUT not 12 at one time, and he said ya i agree and put me on hold and then said drive it back and we will put on some solid 1 pc lugs on the bad ones and i said well lets do all of them and he said that would cost them around $40) for them which is (bullshit), but i said well ill pay half , $20 for the whole set, which is about a little less what i would have paid off amazon, and he said okay,,,,,and i also always check my valve stems caps as i always find one loose out of the 4 after having the rotation and balance has been done.....other than that they have been great to do business with... i also found that when i ordered the tires thur the internet and they get delivered to the house, i always have checked the date codes on them and they are always just been manufactured within a month of me getting them so no worries about getting out of date or old stored tires as well
-
as above, i also purchase a lifetime alignment (around $180 at the time and with 4 wheel alignments @ $90. each pop it sure has paid off) from Quick lane for my journey and i have it checked every time i rotate the tires at 5 k,i get my tires from discount tire as well they are a great tire company...

Best NGK Spark Plugs for for 2014 3.6 L FWD ???
2late4u replied to Kev100's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
you didnt mention your miles on the journey, or if you were having any problems with it, BUT knowing how much trouble it is to replace them why not go with the OEM plugs, why chance going with a different plug. i have a 2014 and had my plugs changed out at around 95 k along with a coolant change and transmission service at the local dealership, i would have liked to seen the plugs but forgot to ask to have them saved for me to look at....oh well to each their own but i would go with the OEM plugs ..... -
