  4. get use to it or cover it with some tape, as there is no way to disable it
  5. one thing my parents did for my brother and me was when we got our first Good paying job ,we had to start paying rent for our room and board and all the things our parents did for us, of course this was over 40 some yrs ago, but my brother had to pay around $10 a week, and me being about 4 yrs younger i had to pay $25 a week (Inflation i guess LOL) anyways mom took what we paid every week and put it in a savings account and when we got married yrs later she gave us that money, My brother never complained about his when he got it but when mom gave me mine and he found out it was about 3 times as much as he got he started complaining and mom just looked at him and said WELL, he paid us more every week and also we didnt have to chase him for it it was always placed on the kitchen table every fri after he cashed his check unlike how we had to get it from you.... also if we ever asked for a loan of money in a big amount from our parents we always would sit down and write out an agreement on the amount, and length, of the loan before it would get repaid to them, it just taught us that nothing was free in life and to take care of your self no matter who you were dealing with. people look at me like it was crazy that our parents did this to us but i look right back at them and said i was raised right and learned the correct way of taking care of business during my lifetime and i also passed this down to both of my kids as well
  6. have the plugs been changed they are due at 100 k, probally not the problem but are over due if they havent been changed, wouldn't think it is the coils the usually are bad or good, someone with more ideas will chime in soon good luck
  7. well 6 yrs of heat and miles might take their toll on the plugs wouldn't hurt to do it then you will be set for another 6 yrs you might as well do the coolant change as well as the the transmission service as well, thats what i did at around 95 k last yr i let the dealership do it since i have the max warranty , but its on record if i should have any problems down the line, and yep kind of pricey at the dealership but oh well you cant take it with you........P.S. actually had the trans done at 60 k and then redone again at the 95 K first time it was around 150 the second time was higher i think it was around 215
  8. as always what engine and how many miles? since it is a r/t guessing its a 3.6?
  9. other than slow your azz down..LOL ..well you could try slotted or drilled rotors but ive read pros and cons on weather they really are that much better, you could also buy heavy duty pads or performance pads but they are a lot higher priced and they also have their down sides as well...good luck on what ever you decide and report back on what you get
  10. dont know your sons age but from what i experienced with insurance until they are around 24-25 a young male is really high, girls get a better rate sooner as well,,,LOL isn't it funny how agreements seem to change when they are NOT written down.....
  11. i do the same as well Neto, i sold my 2001 truck to my step son and showed him my list ,it even showed when i replaced the wipers from day one. he looked at me and just couldn't believe it...LOL
  12. just got back from` a trip to Biloxi Ms, and got 27 + on the way there and 26+ on the way home ,cant complain
  13. 2014 3.6 and i very seldom see the change oil message,as i always change my oil out between 5-6 k also use syn oil as well
  14. transmission is different on the 2.4 compared to the 3.6 trans, with the 3.6 no dipstick, so this engine comes with the older 4 spd trans....are you saying your rpm are 2-3 at idle? also did this just start happening or has it gradually over a period of time? did it start after changing your plugs? did you use OEM plugs? wonder if the throttle body valve is dirty. good luck and let us know what happens
  15. since it is all of them, might be the receiver for the signals then, which will be a trip to the dealership or a garage that handles such repairs or a black section of electrical tape to cover up the warning so it doesn't bother you if you decided to go without fixing it,good luck and report back on what you find out is causing your problem
  16. TPMS Life Expectancy The estimated life expectancy of an OE TPMS sensor is 5 to 12 years, with the average lifespan being 7 years. TPMS life expectancy is directly related to the number of radio frequency transmissions the sensors make. Driving habits greatly influence the number of RF transmissions a sensor makes in its lifetime. For example: sensors usually transmit when the vehicle is stopped and transmit more often when in motion. Maintaining a constant speed, such as when you're on a highway, reduces the demand on TPMS sensors and allow the sensors to transmit less often. Drivers who often find themselves driving in start-and-stop type traffic will have a greater impact on the vehicles tire pressure monitoring sensors. Weather can also have an impact on tire pressure sensor battery life. Cold conditions allow batteries to last longer. Warmer conditions take more of a toll on TPMS battery life
  17. as jkeaton mentioned battery in the sensor is going bad, sense you dont mention air loss in the tires, any good tire shop should be able to help you, i use discount tire stores for all my work if you have one near you try them out they are great and wil be cheaper than most other places,,, stay away from pep boys
  18. i agree with you about the required posting of the vehicles info, in fact i started one of the post asking about that and like you say they just say they cant do that. take care
  19. sorry for the mistake, as everyone can make one even you.......So you have the 2.4 motor? I thought(but not sure) by the 2012 model both had the 6 speed 62te. I haven't played with the 4 sp...... as i said sorry for the misinformation
  20. i didnt say the dodge 2.4 engine was a gm the original poster said the 2.4 L 4 is what he has it IF you google that number it comes up as a general motors engine ( GM 2.4 Liter I4 Ecotec LEA Engine ) that said a dodge 2.4 L 4 tiger shark engine does come up as well and it is used with the 4 spd trans not the 6 spd that the 3.6 uses
  21. when i google 2.4 L 4 it comes up as a general motors engine..... 2012 Dodge Journey Review & Ratings | Edmunds www.edmunds.com/dodge/journey/2012/review The 2012 Dodge Journey SE is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 173 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. 22. NOPE he is right on a cold start the oil pressure goes high and then slowly comes down as the engine heats up as well as the oil till it rest at idle,,,, and then if you race the engine the pressure goes up and then when you let off the gas it comes down....
  23. hard to tell from here, i always replace all the parts associated with a repair job only makes sense good luck on your problem
  24. my son just had a noise coming from his truck that had a 318 engine that was making a noise he thought belt or tensioner so he replaced that stuff first ...ended up being his water pump and also while replacing that he replaced the clutch fan as well...noise gone it was the water pimp bearing going out with no leaks as well
  25. Just went and checked mine as well yep it will start in neutral as well,,,,THE plot thickens.....i know the older ones were a mechanical switch or linkage and i would assume the newer ones are electrical, might be a problem there......also the battery cable has a battery temperature sensor built into one of the cables that when it goes bad it wont let the car start.good luck
