  1. ended up going with a 4 drop and 3 3/4 rise made for a perfect height when using the 3 3/4 rise position for towing the trailer and he had 16 inch tires on the trailer as well
  2. i just had an experience with my daughter patriot, she had already had both front and left rear wheel bearings replaced and developed a loud noise and it wasnt a droning noise or grinding but sounded more like a thumping noise that got louder with speed until you got to around 50 mph and then would quite down a bit, her regular mech said her right side wheel bearing was good as he had checked it out and that it was her rear end going out, anyways long story short i put it in the dealership expecting a 2500 repair bill and they called and said it was her right side wheel bearing was bad even tho while spinning it while on a lift it made no noise.... so that 2500 bill ended up being just around 400 which is high for a wheel bearing it was a lot different than what i was expecting
  3. that is about what i was going to use, 12 inches measures the top of the hitch on the journey and my neighbors trailer that is about the same as i was going to use is about 15.5 to the bottom of the ball receiver thanks everyone for your info
  4. i would say wheel bearings , they can go bad and sound different at different times depending on the load from the vech
  5. forgot to mention i have a crossroad with the 3.6 engine
  6. didnt try to say they were a shop that makes and installs them, yes it is a manufacture that rebuilds them and also sells them thur their authorized shops, was just giving a different option of going thur the dealership or regular transmission shops, have heard a lot of good things about their products
  7. already have the hitch and wiring but getting ready to borrow my sons trailer and i need to get the receiver hitch and ball, class 3 and know i need a 2 inch ball but what drop or rise is every one using, or would a straight hitch work okay,,.trailer is just a regular size 6 by 8 i believe and will just be hauling 2 tractor scoops of cotton seed mulch from the local gin co-op, (this stuff is real light not like soil),,by the way this stuff is the greatest, it doesn't pack down hard like dirt stays loose ,and keeps the weeds out great, and looks just like regular soil....anyways just wondering what to buy to hook up to the hitch
  8. way above my skill level but i sure wish you all the best, hope you find what is causing you all the grief
  9. interesting but i wonder how many mechanics change their brake fluid every 2 yrs...LOL
  10. Might be a great time to trade it in on a new vehicle or maybe a new Journey as since it is the last yr on them there should be some great deals on them, wouldst want to sell it to anyone but with a dealership they are always trying to screw you so i wouldn't have ant problem dropping it on them as they are just going to wholesale it off anyway
  11. use to work at Chrysler plant that made some of the radios if other cds wont work as well than the ejection and loading cd unit is either broken or out of adjustment, so you will need to go to an audio repair shop and see if they can help you
  12. no recall on them as far as i can find but supposedly a class action lawsuit just google it..... 13. have you tried a different CD to see if it would stay in and play???? also is it a home made CD? could just be that CD for some reason or it could be if the radio rejects all CDs then it is out of adjustment and needs to be worked on, if so contact a audio repair place
  14. it has been over a month now and the squeak started to come back about 2,5 weeks ago and i resprayed the round bushing on both sides of the journey and the squeaking is gone, must be the way it rest against the body bracket and the kind of bushing material they used
  15. just an update, the air bag light has stayed off
  16. got my 2nd covid shot (moderna) on Monday so was feeling under the weather Tuesday sick to my stomach and headache as well, so i slept most of the day and night, and woke up early today feeling great, the shoulder is still a bit sore, the wife didnt have no ill feelings, but I went to the store today and the airbag light was still on the horn works and cruise control as well so i got to thinking about thejeepdrivers post as well and poked around underneath the passenger side and squeezed the connectors and did the same to the drivers side as well, and then started the journey back up and the light came on then went off so guess that fixed it ill just keep an eye on it, i did have heated seats put in aftermarket so the wires are hanging down a bit, guess i need to tidy up under there so they dont get tugged on again... oh well everything ended well
  17. well about 111000 k and nice and warm and this morning the air bag light came on, but no messages, and havent checked for codes yet , but did the start 3 times with the ign button and computer said everything was okay but light still coming, just had my back up camera fixed about a month ago so up to date on recalls and no updates to be done , so going to give it a few days and see if it goes away hoping its just a lazy sensor, dont feel like paying the ded ( $100.)to have it fixed right away but might have to, i started and stopped a few times and shut off the journey and restarted it and still there havent tried to disconnect the positive cable yet , might try that tomorrow
  18. would be a good idea for the check on the battery and to make sure the cables are clean and tight, journeys do like their juice.other than that hard to say what else could be wrong,, some after market parts sometimes dont work as good as the oem parts do,,,good luck please report back on what he finds to cure the problem for other people that might find themselves in a problem like this
  19. i also will point out that the warranty price from dealers that sell you the journey will be a lot higher than the one i showed you, the dealers have a mark up of almost 50 % so be careful and also only settle for a mopar warranty and not a third party warranty as well...that said also be warned that this is the last yr for the journey so even tho they have to supply parts for a certain amount of yrs (7 yrs i believe) sometimes getting them parts can be a bitch, i once had a caravan that the seat fabric got ripped by their mechanic and they had to order the seat fabric cover thur mopar took about a month and then when he installed it he put a longer screw in a certain area where it didnt belong and it ripped the seat again so they reordered it again and they were never able to get it , i finally gave up on checking on it. so be warned as well.
  20. the lifetime warranty were discontinued a couple yrs ago,but they do offer some long term ones check out,www.chryslerfactoryplans.com for some prices and length of warranty you dont need a vin # to check it out
  21. yes journeys do have their problems same as all vehicle do, just remember this is the last yr for this model as well, that said if you take care of one and do your maintenance they are great value for the money, their are always lemons as well with any vehicle that is out there, i had a 2011 put 70 k on it and then liked it so much traded it for my 2014 106 k on this one yes i have had 3 things go wrong withe it, a oil pressure sending switch and a wheel speed senor and also just had the rear camera replaced. also i have the 3.6 eng in both so cant speak for the 2.4 engine power i would recommend one to any one wanting a bigger size vehicle that can carry 6 people with luggage for a great price, but you can always pay an extra 20 grand and buy yourself an Toyota Subaru or Honda one of the other high price SUV and also pay the higher price on repairs and maintenance that comes with them..good luck
  22. had my 14 crossroad changed at 60 k cost me around $185. just had it changed again at 104 k cost was below $300 cant remember and to lazy to go check, i just believe in changing oil in the engine as well as the trans, never had a flush or power flush why run clean oil thur a dirty filter all prices in U.S. and also i have the unlimited miles and yrs warranty as well, didnt want to give them excuse to say i didnt have it done, hence why i had it done at the dealership...actually sounds reasonable as prices have went thur the roof on everything here lately...might want to check a different dealer as they all charge different prices on labor and parts
