  1. when buying expensive car parts dont buy from auto zone or orillies go to retailmenot.com and get their coupon code thur advance auto and order online and then head down to the store and pick it up, usually will save you at least 20-70 dollars off any of the car parts you buy
  2. yes the 09 and a few other years of journey have their problems as ALL different car models have as well, small brake rotors and yes the wiring loom i the doors and hatch have been a common problem . after all your journey is an 12 yr old vehicle, sorry to hear you have had problem with your journey,, i have had 2 journeys a 2011 that i loved and traded in on with 70 k and now my 2014 with 110 k on it and so with both of them combined it has only been in the dealership for repairs about 3 times total in the 10 yrs that i owned them both, just the luck of the draw i guess
  3. also if you do have it fixed under your warranty might be a great time if you have anything else serviced if you are getting close on maintenance since it will already be in the shop, kill 2 birds with one shot...take care
  4. just seen your post, i hate to tell you , but i am 99.9% sure there is no bulbs there,, i use to work at chrysler electronics building radios and such that is a solid display glass face design if they still build them that way, now that said it could be the display gone bad or a diode or resistor that is making it light up that way but either way it probally would be more expensive even if you could find someone to check it out and work on it instead of replacing it under your warranty,,,,strange tho as i dont ever remember the light bleed over like that before, usually a part of the sections of the display go bad resulting in just part of a number rto not show up.. good luck,,,,,,,,,i had my back up camera going bad for a long time and i just kept waiting for something else to go wrong so i could have it all fixed under the same ded, but nothing else was going wrong so i finally bit the bullet and paid the ded , and they replaced the camera which was bad...oh well
  5. why not ask your local dodge dealership if you want a def answer
  6. welcome to the group, and hope you enjoy the journey, as far as your question i have no idea, hopefully some one might know
  7. of course no one is forced to get the shot, My personal thought is a roadside shot in a snowstorm where everyone is stuck from someone you do not know is NOT the ideal place to get it, to many Kooks these days trying to sell or do stuff that is not right ,there was a person in texas just last week saying he made a vaccine but didnt want to try to get it approved and was willing to travle to give the shot if paid, which some idiots paid him to do well he got in trouble because he labeled it a vaccine so even tho he was supposed to cease and stop doing it,he rewordeed it as not a vaccine but he used some fancy words that i can't remember and advertised it again well he is in jail now... also there was a local lady getting her first shot and told them she was known to have reactions to certain meds and they recommended to her NOT to take it even tho there were at the hospital but she insisted on taking it and she almost died but they were ready in case she did have a reaction and was able to act quickly enough, i am set up to get our shots after feb 8 and that is our personal opinun but at a local clinic from accreded dr and nurse
  8. well that would help but if they have a real problem that wont work in the long run,but would help mask the problem, a good battery can go a long time with no starting problems....
  9. hate to tell you but some journey owners have problems with their journey battery going dead, so many different reasons it is hard to tell you what to do ,first make sure your fob is more than 30 feet from the journey when not in use, have someone pull the bluetooth fuse in the fuse box located under the glove box, also have the alt checked to make sure it is putting out the correct voltage also see if the dealership will change the battery out even new ones can go bad or get weak, also if all this is done and still problem have a garage check for a low drain on the system while shut off, so many other things as well, one poster had same problem and he said it ended up being the brake light sensor going bad cruise and read thur the forum listed as Electrical, Battery & Charging good luck
  10. okay ill play the devil's advocate on this subject,,,this a feel good article and ended with a great outcome , BUT what would they have done, if one of the stranded people suffered a severe reaction to the shots, as some have here at our local hospital,, as after you get the shot they have you wait at least 30 minutes before letting you go home,,, also i just filled out the paperwork for my wife's and mine to get the vaccine asking us and signing the paperwork listing our medical problems and also if allergic to different kinds of vaccines and meds,as well, since we are 67 yrs old with some medical problems so we are in the next group for the shots whenever that will be
  11. check put the forum here under the audio section , one of our op used crutchfield and seemed real happy with it,,,i thnk i spelled it right,, good luck
  12. i am no mechanic BUT when my abs light came on and it ended up being wheel speed sensor when i tried to get the local auto stores to read it, they said they couldn't due to covid but more important that the abs codes and ability to read them were a priority code that only the dealerships could do or authorised mechanics. maybe someone else can answer your question with a better answer, but whatever you do to get it fixed please report back for others to learn from good luck....
  13. look at the paperwork you rec on the warranty and at the end of all the listed coverage it should give you a phone # and the info you need to cancel it, and as well as stated above i hope you bought a mopar warranty and not a third party warranty as they have a lot of loopholes and make getting work done a lot harder from what i have read...good luck
  14. well since the org poster never came back with an answer ( a 2 time poster) we will never know as suggested check your codes and also report back for others when you get it fixed,,,,most likely a thermostat problem or just extreme cold that you are experiencing, you could use a piece of cardboard to help from getting so much cold hitting the rad , nut i would just have the state changed out it that is the code
  15. 2017 warranty is 3 yr/36 k 5 yr /60 k on powertrain even tho they said 85 k
  16. before making any permanent deal with the dealership maybe investing a few bucks with a lawyer might be advisable as this sounds like a cluster fluck,or at least let the dealership think you have talked with a lawyer but then of course all dealers get you to sign an agreement to a separate mediator as well,,, as for the price for a 2017 doesn't sound bad if they fix the rocker arm problem and let you keep the warranty since it was a certified journey as well, so many things going on here hard to say to stay with it or walk,,,that said i have a 2014 journey and love it, just remember at 100 k you will be due plugs around 250 there, transmission service at least 250 there and also a coolant change not sure i can't remember what i paid for that.good luck and you might as suggested to get corporate involved as well as they hold a lot of power over the dealership since they seemed to have slipped up here
  17. where did you buy your journey chrysler or off brand dealership? also the warranty from chrysler is 3/36 yrs and miles and powertrain is 5 yr / 60 k, the ticking noise isn't an emergency problem BUT needs to be fixed and also either you were mistaken or the salesman is wrong on your coverage, i am assuming you bought a after market 3rd party warranty, and NO that doesn't sound right to have to wait,, you have signed paperwork that you bought a warranty,, hope everything turns out okay keep us posted,, also the warranty you purchased probally has a deductible that you will have to pay as well
  18. well i just had my transmission fluid and filter done again at 109 k as of now, i had my daughters transmission serviced last week and asked how much for the journey and they said $189. so i had it done , well they ended up charging me $220 and when is said you quoted me $189 of course i expected tax but they said well the fluid was higher and whatever,, blaa ,blaa, so then i said did i get my employee discount and they said it was already figured in, kind of didnt feel like arguing ,so i said well ok dont worry about it, i just wanted to get out of there and i know know i am set for a long time as already had the plugs and coolant change dorn at around 95 k. and since i have the max warranty i wanted to have it all done by the dealership so if i have a problem they cant say well you didnt have it done right... they have a all new service dept personal the old ones treated me better but the new are still pretty good on getting things done quickly and also done right,,,
  19. reminds me of my 2001 dodge truck i had that was only month or two old i took it down and had the muffler and converter cut off ( i know was supposed to be illegal to do that)and 2 flow masters put on and on my way home i stopped and filled it with gas and then went by where my wife worked and dropped it off and got her caravan to go fill it up and went home with it,,,,well when she came in the house after work ( she was late getting home) she was hollering there is something bad wrong with the truck so i only drove 25mph to get home LOL a 10 minute drive took her almost an hour,,, she didnt think was as funny as i did tho.....
  20. i would be more interested how it sounds from the inside during accereating and also during normal cruising mode to hear if it was an annoying loud hum inside the journey,,,usually it sounds nice when you are young and enjoy the sound but can get annoying when on a long trip or wanting to listen to your music or talking
  21. For many years the caravans all had roof rails and the crossbars and then they just started installing just the rails but no bars (as many drivers never used it and also probally saved them a ton of $$$$$) and then they started not even putting the rails on the top.... just another way of saving $$ if they dont have to install them.
  22. GLAD you took the time to post this for other journey owners,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,most posters after they get it fixed fail to report back on what they did
