  1. when my grandsons trans went out on his car i just rented a tow behind dolly and we rolled it onto it no big deal and a lot cheaper than a tow truck
  2. i am old school on the 3.6 6 speed they recommend changing at 100 k ,had mine changed at 65 k and will do again at 120 k...only makes good sense as no fluid will last that long without degrading and buildup with gunk, i did cheat and lwt the dealership change it as i got a great service price on having it done
  3. was just checking lkq and found out the 3.6 engines are listed almost 1k cheaper than the 2.4 are, guess because their are more of them available
  4. i assume you have had the alt checked since you say the lights dim while at a light, also some have said their problem with dead batteries was the fuse that controls their blue tooth and by pulling it ( the one under the glove box solved their problems)good luck and please report back on what you find to be the problem
  5. lol you tube is the greatest teacher there is,if only we would have had it back 30-40 yrs ago,, if you get a chance watch fix it angel he is really great but he mostly works on imports, but this guy does more with just one hand than most of us do with two hands i watch it all the time
  6. have used the Monroe quick struts on my daughters mail caravan and never had any problems with it anymore, easy to install as well
  7. weather you have the 2.4 or the 3.6 you will also have to buy a spark plug socket that is magnetic as well as the hole the plugs go into are about 3-6 inches deep, i change my daughters 2.4 plugs for her and bought a plug socket but it wasn't magnetic just had the rubber plug that is suppose to hold it in and it still keeps falling oust of the socket so i grabbed a 6 inch piece of air line tube off my wife's oxygen concentrate ( one of the old tubed that is) and stuck it onto a small Phillips screwdriver and the other end fits over the connector on the plug and that way i can install the plug hand tight before using the ratchet to tighten it....
  8. had a 89 pickup truck and it caught on fire under the hood, insurance covered the cost to fix it new hood and all sorts of electrical harness repair and a complete paint job as well looked great but it wasnt to long i started to notice some glitches in the way the truck was starting and running so,I traded it in on a new dodge truck before it started to go bad..................they wanted to replace the wiring harness but they had a hard time getting one so they patched it up
  9. try removing the Bluetooth fuse from under the glove box, some posters on here said that was their problems on the battery draining on them. and i am sure dodge dealership could find the problem and fix it as well
  10. the noise you are hearing is probally the heater blend doors closing and resetting,,takes them a minute or two to reset
  11. i dont believe the 2.4 has a belt it uses a chain drive

welcome to the group, cruise thur the forums for some great info, at 133 k i would be checking on and doing if not done yet plugs use (OEM plugs only every 30 k) ,trans service, and probably coolant flush and service might even throw in a new thermostat as well....also ii would look over your bushings on the front and rear suspension as well...good luck and happy trails
  13. also he is NOT talking about a trailer he is wanting to use a hitch carrier A BIG difference in the two items
  14. you are comparing apples to oranges,,,,yes any car can be converted to carry a wheelchair INSIDE it including ramps with no problem, the poster is talking about carrying a 600 lb wheel chair on a carrier with a hitch and the journeys frame is not built for that ,,,, way to much weight behind the journey... our local griffin mobility shop has a KIA soul that will carry a electric wheelchair with a ramp BUT only inside of it
  15. just replaced my antenna that was looking like that, nut i noticed it right away as a mech was backing my journey up a bit and the antenna hit the roll up door that was partially closed,,,i doubt that their was a leak there as that whole top part is built on to a metal stud that screws into the base so no chance of a leak there..also the antenna is about $21 at the dealership and about 16 on amazon... if you twist the rubber part above the base it will just screw out
  16. evidently you havent approached any shops that would attempt this, griffin mobility in our own said he wouldn't improve my suspension or install anything for my journey other than a tow behind carrier for my wife's scooter and it only weights around 260 plus the weight of the carrier and the weight of the class 3 hitch.. he was very sure that the journey are NOT capable to carry such weight that the poster is talking about...as far as your example of the caravan is it is internally carrying the 600 lb chair and the poster is wanting to carry it behind the journey on a platform that will overload the rear end and cause instability of the vehicle. and yes the springs and struts can be beefed up but as stated he would still be unstable
  17. that will be the only way ,go by any body shop they will tell you what you want you learn,or they might offer to do it for a small charge as well
  18. i responded but its not showing,, with that much weight you will be way over the tongue weight and even if you can beef up the suspension you would still have trouble , i have a rack like what you are talking about that i carry my wife's med 3 wheel scooter and it only weights around 260 lbs and between the rack and the scooter i am pushing it of course i am using the reg suspension. and to be honest i have had some problems with the rear upper trailer link/upper control arm and had aftermarket adj installed as the OEM arms are non-adj....good luck
  19. just read this on a dodge truck forum...are your windows responding when you push the buttons? I asked a service guy at a Dodge Dealer if it might be a fuse and he said it is not if the windows work which they do.
  20. hope it isn't the TPIM module,,,,,, also would check the drivers side door at the rubber boot for frayed wires causing a short and make sure you are checking the fuses correctly there are 2 fuse boxes on the journey one under the hood and one under the glove box behind the carpet a bitch to get to they say.good luck Power door locks do not function Power door locks that do not function are another common symptom for a problem with the door lock relay. If the power door lock relay fails, it will cut off power to the entire power door lock system and may cause them to not function correctly. For vehicles equipped with door lock cylinders, the door can still be opened using the key. However, vehicles without door lock cylinders will not be able to lock or unlock the doors until power is restored. For vehicles with traditional style door lock cylinders and keys, a bad power door lock relay will merely disable the power door lock feature. For vehicles without door lock cylinders, however, this may make entering the vehicle difficult if not impossible if the doors cannot unlock due to a bad relay. If your power door lock system is having any issues, or you suspect that your relay may be having a problem, have the vehicle inspected by a professional technician, such as one from YourMechanic, to determine if your car needs a door lock relay replacement.
  21. sound like a fuse since both doors are inop with the key fob and manual controls, there also has to be module that controls the lock/unlock of all the doors not sure what it would be called, more than that i would have to call in help from dealership or a garage.good luck and please report back on what you find out to be the problem
