  1. Battery is bad, jump it off if you can and take it to a parts store to have a LOAD test done on it, not just checking the voltage with a meter,,also if its the OEM battery replace with out even checking it.................
  2. i use Naval Jelly 16 fl. oz Rust Dissolver on rusted metal like that and then repaint it...used this stuff for 40 yrs works great
  3. also if you are having to add coolant once a year. you have a very small leak somewhere,,,,first replace your rad cap since its a 2011....you should never have to add coolant...good luck i had mine done at the dealership when i was having my plugs changed ( 3.6) wasn't a bad price compared to the quick change places
  4. if this is the journeys future, please let it die peacefully
  5. welcome to the group
  6. well the other day my engine warning light came on and wouldn't go off, i dont have a scanner and all the part stores wont do a scan due to the covid-19 virus, so i did the ignition check by turning it on and off for three times but checked and said done no codes so i went by the dodge dealership closest to me( the one i dont like ,as they are azz holes there) and true to form they said cant get you in till after the 4th and no we cant use a scan tool on it for you, so,, i drop the wife off at her drs office and while i am waiting out in the journey for her i called my regular dodge dealership ( which is further away but the one i always buy from and do my service work there) and they said well cant get you in till after the 4th but come on by anytime and we will hook up the scan tool and let you know what it might be,since the engine light wasn't flashing, they said okay to drive it till i can get it in,i said thanks and will see you in a while so while i am still waiting i thought well loosen the gas cap and see what happens, so i undo it and herd a whose of air and then re tightened the cap and started the engine and the light is off... always check the simple things first...LOL my 2011 journey once told me with a warning to (( tighten the gas cap)) and that only happened once but after loosen the gas cap and re tightened it, the engine light turned off ,but my 2014 didnt give me that warning this time
  7. FCA confirmed this week that Dodge will end production of both the Grand Caravan and the Journey after the 2020 model year, leaving the brand without a front-wheel drive crossover for the first time since 2008, and without a minivan for the first time in nearly four decades. The discontinuation of the Grand Caravan and Journey eliminates 40% of the Dodge lineup. The two models represent more than 38% of the brand's sales volume so far in 2020. For 2021, only the Charger, Challenger and Durango will remain. Minivan buyers will still have options at Chrysler, which offers several variants of the Pacifica, including the new Voyager, which is a stripped-down model aimed at budget-conscious buyers who would previously have been drawn to the bare-bones Dodge. With this latest round of downsizing, Dodge will join Ram, Chrysler, Fiat and Alfa Romeo in the ranks of FCA brands offering four or fewer models; only Jeep will offer more.
  8. easiest solution if you are still worried about it ,just remove the bolt and add a thick washer onto the bolt then re-tighten the bolt , problem solved.. P.S. not sure if its possible here but sometimes 2 bolts could be a different in length size to be used in specific spots. upper and lower...have seen such a thing before but sure about on the caliper mounting flange.
  9. check for loose front fender flaps or air dam loose, yrs ago a couple was getting on the interstate in front of me they would get up to about 50 mph and load banging noise and i seen something flapping under their car ended up being the front lower air dam/ bumper plastic that was part of their front end. i ended up using some duct tape to keep it from being loose till they got back to their home which was 2 states away
  10. hope it works and maybe some one else will chime in on this,it has been discussed quite a bit on replacing one but cant remember anyone talking about it had to be calibrated
  11. found this on goggle dont know if it really works ..good luck............... Blend Door Actuator Motor Calibration Turn ignition key to the on position and turn on the HVAC system. Move the key to the off position. Open hood (bonnet for the RHD guys) and locate fuse #15 in the fuse box next to the battery. Remove the fuse and wait 1-2 minutes for any capacitive charges in the system to dissipate. Replace the fuse. Turn the ignition key to the on position. You can now watch the motors move as the system goes through the calibration routine. Leave the key on for a couple of minutes to make sure that the calibration routine is completed before turning it off. You will also be able to hear additional activity as all the doors and fan speed are calibrated. You may have to run the cal routine a couple of times to get the system back to full functionality. If the position of the new door is significantly different from the point at failure, the system will successively move toward the new correct position setting. It may take two or three cycles for the system to move to the correct position.
  12. that is what the security system is suppose to do when a door is unlocked without the proper key, otherwise why have a security system.....
  13. seen this on you tube, short cut for the difficult rear struts on the 3 seat journey, does look like if you want to save a bunch of $$$$ and should not look bad after covering the side panel down at the bottom ,,,,dont know why it showed for a brief second the top part of the panel cut out,,anyways thought id post it for someone to try out....
  14. welcome to the group...I grew up in Clarkston Mi.
  15. one other poss. could be maybe the jug was not completely full from the manufacture, 5 quarts plus 1 more and dont worry about it
  16. 68191349AB is the only filter to use in 2014 and up........... and hand tighten till tight then give a small bump to finish tighten it,,,over tightening will ruin or damage the plastic housing and o ring
  17. check to see if the dip stick tube is not loose and or not fully inserted into the eng
  18. 6 quarts fills up my 2014 crossroad 3.6 eng
  19. from your video that doesn't look any thing like a cv joint for the front right side unless it is missing a bunch of the part. like rubber boot and the outer metal covering.....google Cardone New® - CV Axle Shaft $47.31 - $55.92 for a picture of what it should look like
  20. dealership would be able to give the correct name and OEM price, and with that you could go aftermarket but be careful of the quality of the aftermarket parts....sometimes the cheap ends up costing more than the OEM route
  21. might want to disconnect the curt wiring harness from the both sides, not hard to do and see if that makes a difference, cant remember, do you have led taillights or the reg bulbs, if regular bulbs remove and check the connections in the socket and also the bulb, my daughters jeep had a bad connection in the connector and had to replace it...just a thought.good luck and report back on what fixes your problem.....if led light housings you should be able to exchange the right to the left and let them hang to check to see if the problem stays the same or moves with the housings
  22. any part store would be able to answer this as well with a price,,, but for thoes with a answer, what size engine, which side of the journey, fwd where the axle is or at the rear.... info would be helpful
