  1. welcome to the group, that said i love my 2014 journey and also had a 2011 journey,no real problems with either one, but since i am retired and planning on keeping this one forever i bought a lifetime unlimited warranty on my 2014 ......sorry to say dodge doesn't offer that warranty any more to present buyers but they still offer some great warranty's even on used low mileage journeys, if you plan on keeping this journey for a long time period ,with the cost of engines and transmissions these days you might want to check into one , several of us have bought off the internet and get a BIG discount on the OEM MOPAR warranty instead of a third party company....good luck and here is some info on warranty's..www.chryslerfactoryplans.com .www.chryslerwarrantydirect.com ,,
  2. the video doesn't show him replacing the other bushing and i would recommend it as well ,plus an alignment, plus any other part you might want to replace but this will fix your camber problem
  3. the upper trailing control arm is what was causing my rear tires to wear on the inside of the tires.... i kept having problems with the OEM part as it is non adjustable, that is why i went aftermarket for the adjustable one since then no problems, i had them do both sides as well, and of courser you then ten have to have a 4 wheel alignment done....................
  4. assuming that is the rear upper trailing arm i had mine OEM which is NON adjustable replaced with an after market one which can be adjusted..Moog RK100119 Control Arm price from amazon is about 70 plus tax the other one i assume is the lower one
  5. sounds good, use to like that stuff when i was younger,,,now at 66 yrs old between the ringing in my ears and the sound of my bones creaking and me grunting when i get up or down , i appreciate the quite sound of my journey
  6. tips look nice where did you buy and cost of them i assume you have to have the old ones cut off and the new ones welded back on
  7. i believe the trans service is at 100 k the same as the plugs on the 3.6 and coolant at 120 k i had my trans done at around 65 k and then at 100 k i had the plugs and coolant clanged out and will have the trans done again at about 130 k even tho i have the max lifetime warranty on my journey i just dont want any surprises just makes good sense, have been thinking on having the power steering fluid changed out as well
  8. all i can think about this post is when they noticed it was 3 qt low on oil and then gave it back to you and said drive it 1000 miles and then you were 3 qts low again doesn't any one check their oil at least once a week any more ?,i still check mine at least once as week it is so easy to do.
  9. i thought every one in cal drove Tesla
  10. about the same here, hell just keeping the leaves and other crap we get in the south out of there would be a pain
  11. only time iv ever replaced struts was on my daughters caravan which she used on her mail route and we used the Monroe quick strut,, it was one complete unit went in easy and she never had any more problems with them....good luck and report back on what you find out
  12. did you have a problem leaving the fuse in the in line fuse holder?
  13. still having problems with this harness. i rec the replacement today havent installed yet, but i did buy a led tester from harbor freight and it shows the juice going to the trailer connector working on both the left and right side but when hooked up to the trailer connector only the left side works ,the right side blinker and brake doesn't work, i actually dont have the trailer hooked up to the journey with a trailer ball hitch ,just the wire connector, not sure that should matter since the left side works great but not the right side, I am going to hook up a wire ground from the journey to the trailer just to make sure that cant be the problem,,, this has got me stumped as this is doing the same thing on 3 different trailers that i have tried it on....
  14. also make sure you have a good seal on the air cleaner box since it sounds like a vacuum that goes up and down with the speed also any of the tubing and connections
  15. you mean other than any other 6 yr old car, if its been maintained then shouldn't be nothing to worry about i have a 2014 crossroad with the 3.6 and love it have 102 k on it,only had 2 problems with mine 1 was the oil pressure sensor went bad was covered under my max warranty and also have had my upper rear trailing links replaced with adjustable ones as the OEM are non adjustable.,the 2.4 is easier to work on like the plugs but you are supposed to change them out every 30 k but $12 for the copper plugs and dont use anything different and half hr and your done.... i would change the plugs and have the transmission fluid serviced as well along with the coolant service also..also in city driving will not be that great if that brothers you
  16. when working on the rear the upper rear trailing arm is a non adjustable OEM part, the bottom ones are adjustable, i ended up going aftermarket with the upper ones as you can buy them so that they can be adjusted, they can be bought off amazon ,rock auto or most local part stores
  17. 11 yrs old and also fairly high mileage as well like john said nurse it along go to a thicker oil and save some $$ and keep an eye out for a low mileage engine like he said from lkq or scrappers in your area just be careful who you buy from or run it till it pukes and then scrap it depends on what you want to do , I wouldn't put a lot of money into something this old unless i really wanted to keep it.good luck
  18. actually seen it was made in mexico on 2-22-20 at least they are sending me a new one with no problems,so that is a good company policy,,,have a great weekend
  19. only problem so far is when it is hooked up to a trailer only the left side trailer lights work, checked with Curt tec support they said to check the wire on the right side where it is spliced from the factory, they have had some problems i guess,so checked that unplug everything and re-plugged it back up again still not working on the right side only left side working ,all of a sudden right started working,,put the lights back in buttoned everything back up,everything still working got home from my stepson house, fixed lunch and then went back outside to try it on my neighbors trailer and dam only the left side working, checked everything again nothing just the left side working so i called Curt tec support again told him everything and he said well i dont have a clue as to the problem so ill just send you another one and said take care..oh well so much for plug and play ....
  20. looks like you have covered all the possibility on parts make sure everything is in line also check your alternator and the decouple pulley as well if it starts dragging that could cause the belt to slip and or heat up and come off also as well the ac compressor pulley, good luck
  21. first off hope every one has a great Easter weekend and stay safe,,,have had my hitch installed for couple of yrs and never installed the towing wires as i just use the hitch for the wife's medical scooter carrier, but got so bored this last couple of weeks in the stay at home mode i went ahead and ordered the curt wiring harness from amazon for about 450. total and installed the kit and went to run the wire to the front and went to run the wire behind the plastic wheel well and was having a hard time due to the wheel being in the way so i finally decided to remove the wheel and that is when i relised that last time (3 weeks ago) that i had the wheels rotated and balanced at discount Tire that 3 of the nuts on the rear wheel the 19 mm socket wouldnt go on the other 2 slipped over the lug nuts just right, i thought what the hell so went to the front tire and 2 of them the socket wouldnt go on the lug nut, so went to the other side and found a few as well ,so i called the tire shop and they start to explain well ford and dodge use cheap lug nuts that are 2 piece lugs and they go bad after a while i said well i understand that and know that as well and if i had 1 lug nut deformed i would say your right but to never having any problems with them and all of a sudden i have 10 or more go bad at one time I have to believe to is more of a problem from the last time you all did the service work than just a coincidence and he did agree so he said well come on in we will remove the bad ones and replace them withnew solid lugs and i said well i have to drive about 25 miles to the shop and i really dont want half and half good lugs and bad ones how much for a whole new set and he said well we normally charge about45 for all four wheels but how about 20 and said i am on my way, so got all that done and finnished running the wire up to the jump post and got the install finnished..LOL other than the lug nut problem the install went fairly easy just in case i ever need to use the tow hitch with a trailer....things never go as planned but glad i did it just in case i ever had a flat tire later on down the street that i found it sooner than later
  22. goggle you tube for videos on how to remove the plastic hatch back cover
  23. Change the plugs and use the approved copper plugs and also engine air filter
