Battery Dies /car start button issue
2late4u replied to danielle123's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
do as previously,, mentioned have a LOAD test done on the battery to make sure you dont have a bad cell i it, also at the same time have them check your alternator. most part stores will do of these for free. then from there it is hunt and peck but some where you have a small electrical draw on the battery or maybe something in the cars computer module what yr is the journey as well?as well check and make sure you dont have anything plugged into one of the power outlets draining the battery such as power cords for the kids games ,dash cam.also make sure all the lights in rear hatch are turning off.your mention of the direction visual display is not shutting off is a BIG possibility of where the problem, next time you notice it doing that you have to time it with your watch to see if it ever goes off if not then that is your problem ...good luck -

hard to tell from here, swing by your dealership to be sure ,on the oil pressure gage i have never bothered to look at how high it goes at 4k rpm,ask the dealership for a reliable answer...good luck and have a safe New Year....welcome to the group
-
and i remember that the article he said the rust builds up right under the strap and you really cant see it from the side of it as well, and their was the other poster that said he was getting a low pedal at different times and it ended up being a caliper that froze up and wasn't working, i believe he said he had some one pushing on the brake pedal while he watched each caliper to see movement
-
make sure the maintenance on the awd has been serviced and up to date
-
he cut the wires and unplug the door connections so the short or problem should be in the dash or under the hood as he said it still blew the fuse, i would have assumed it was where the repair was. so have no real idea, for me it would be time to take it to a electrical shop or dealership for more help, sounds like he is capable of more troubleshooting so good luck
-
welcome to the group, hope you have a safe New Year as well
-
well sounds like someone did a terrible job at the door jam fixing the wires as dodge wouldn't have fixed it that way, i dont know if dodge would honor the repair now since it has been messed with, but sure wouldn't hurt to touch base with your local dealership,,,pretty sure that repair is where your problem short is....good luck and report back what you do
-
after you find out the problem please repost what you did to fix it for others that might have this problem as well
-
well you done most of what it could be, i googled and one article says that code is what he had and dealership replaced the oil pump itself..i had a oil sensor go bad cant remember the code but the dealership replaced the sensor and that fixed it..was just driving on a trip and all of a sudden the light came on and i checked the oil pressure gage and it was pegged out as high as it could go.good luck

Thick white smoking coming from engine
2late4u replied to JamieBrooke1105's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
well first determine what fluid you are low on, then go from there -
yep they told me one time your cabin air filter is real dirty do you want us to change it i said okay this was on my 2011 and when they charged me $22. for it i said wtf, well that didnt happen any more i went and bought a k-n cabin air filter and when i bought my 2014 i pulled it out of the 2011 and transferred it to my 14 the same thing i did with my engine K-N air filter as well
-
i have a 2014 and kept having problems with the rear alignment as well, i had them install after market adjustable upper rear trailing arm,,,,the factory oem are non adjustable. i didnt buy from amazon but this is what they installed on mine and it solves the problem they still get out of alignment but they can adj them back ...funny thing i had a 2011 with 70 k on it never a problem with the alignment but my 14 has been a problem i even bought a lifetime warranty 4 wheel alignment from Quick Lane Tire and Auto Service Center Specialty Products 67018 Trailing Arm for Chrysler/Dodge
-
lol i just go to the local part store, they read for me and give a print out what it indicates and possible problem and fix for it ..... for free
-
my 2014 has had this problem although not very bad, like you i just dont worry about it as well
-
have no idea but run by your local part store most will be able to show you the part with the what it will cost , and they might be able to point it out as well also the dealerships part department should be able to price it for you and then say where is it located their books should be of some help as well...good luck easy to replace usually takes about 5 minutes once you find it
-
most slow leak loss is usually a water pump or the antifreeze coolant bottle on journeys have a known cracking problem check it after a long drive while it is sitting under hot pressure for leaks on the seams of your bottle,,the cracks wont be obvious...dont over heat the engine before finding your problem
-
i have read on other blogs or facebook about upgrading from a small display radio to the 8.4 screen and all the controls that goes with it, dont know if this would help solve your problem or be replacing your problem part but you might want to check into it maybee google this swap in the future og going to a junk yard and buying a complete radio set up from a salvage yard good luck and please report back on when and if you get the problem fixed for others to read.and as well have a great New Year

also since you were low on coolant, and this is a sealed system, either it came low from the factory which is a real possibility or you have a small leak somewhere keep an eye on your coolant level , also look over your coolant bottle for a crack and also might want to replace your rad cap as well two cheapest things to do first
-
so maybe others will understand its not just a dodge problem as well a lot of posters come on here saying bad things about their journeys as if the other brands of auto never have problems ,just thought it might interest some one

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid could have a fuel tank issue that prevents owners from completely filling it up, according to a report from Automotive News. Toyota has issued a statement to confirm it is “investigating a fuel tank shape issue on certain RAV4 Hybrid vehicles. In these cases, variations in fuel tank shape may prevent a full refill by up to several gallons. This condition may impact the vehicle's total available driving distance. As a best practice, customers should refuel before or when the low fuel light illuminates, to prevent running out of fuel." Automotive News cites multiple sources of complaints from owners about the issue, with most of them stating that the vehicle won’t take much more than 9-11 gallons into its 14.5-gallon fuel tank. This greatly reduces the overall range you get with a full tank, which is one of the big benefits of the Hybrid model. It’s rated for 580 miles on a full tank of gas, thanks to its 40 mpg combined fuel economy rating. However, even if the tank won’t fill all the way, the RAV4 Hybrid has reasonable range — filled with nine gallons, it could theoretically go 360 miles. As for why the tank won’t fill, Toyota just hints at a potential shape issue. Automotive News points out that Toyota changed its fuel tank design when it redesigned the RAV4 Hybrid. It went from a “Native American papoose” shape to a “latitudinal, saddle-shaped design,” as shown by parts diagrams and described by AN. Toyota is investigating, so we’ll hopefully get a full explanation soon. There’s also no word on how widespread the issue is beyond Toyota saying it’s affecting “certain RAV4 Hybrid vehicles.” Toyota has sold 82,398 RAV4 Hybrids so far in 2019, according to company sales reports. With that many vehicles out there, the complaints should be rolling in if a significant number of vehicles built are suffering from the potential issue. Let us know in the comments if your 2019 RAV4 Hybrid won’t fill to a full tank at the pump. Like we mentioned before, the vehicle has a 14.5-gallon fuel tank.
