  1. he might be talking about the spot in front that tow trucks hook onto and they dont supply thoes if that is what he is wondering ,the tow trucks are supposed to have them but from what i hear they dont bother with them
  2. lol, ah, have no idea,, might run it by a local body shop they might be able to get it open cheaper than the dealership
  3. 68048953AB HOAT coolant which is generally Pink/Orange in color depending on how much use it has been put through....that said you shouldn't mixed reg prestone with what was left in your system, (they say it will gel up and cause problems)just do a flush Not that hard to do yourself and then use the HOAT coolant and use distilled water if it is not 50/50 mix
  4. recalls will be fixed under the chrysler dealerships dime, anytime you want them done at least you got the newer journeys they redesigned the brakes and made them bigger
  5. i always fill mine almost to the 3/4 line or close to full line ( id rather have more than less in case you get a leak), they always ship them from the factory with the minimum amount of fluids. coolant, power steering and brake fluid big cost saver for the company...as for the t part that broke kind of a journey problem has been talked about in the forums quite a bit on your problem ...click on the forums button and take your time to check all the different point of interest...i would def check out that thermostat issue they say they are really easy to change..good luck
  6. probally had a air pocket in the block after the loss of the org coolant, you fixed the problem and the loss of coolant going down in the bottle probally because the air bubble is getting pushed out, as long as you dont see any other leaks and you shouldn't have to add any more coolant to the reservoir bottle hope you replaced that cap as well, you dont mention the temp of the engine when running as long as it stay in the normal range, you might want to replace the thermostat as it could be stuck closed or part way closed and it is probally the org thermostat in there....good luck and report back on what you do and how it all turns out......also as long as you have the coolant bottled filled and working properly your rad level should stay at the same level that is the job of the reservoir bottle and cap
  7. of course it would be worth it ,you change your engine oil reg dont you same for transmission and awd transfer device, depends on miles of course but oil does wear out and gets burnt over time..
  8. do as previously,, mentioned have a LOAD test done on the battery to make sure you dont have a bad cell i it, also at the same time have them check your alternator. most part stores will do of these for free. then from there it is hunt and peck but some where you have a small electrical draw on the battery or maybe something in the cars computer module what yr is the journey as well?as well check and make sure you dont have anything plugged into one of the power outlets draining the battery such as power cords for the kids games ,dash cam.also make sure all the lights in rear hatch are turning off.your mention of the direction visual display is not shutting off is a BIG possibility of where the problem, next time you notice it doing that you have to time it with your watch to see if it ever goes off if not then that is your problem ...good luck
  9. try to make sure the warranty you are trying to get covers what you think is wrong such as sensors and such also if you know the name of the warranty company google their reputation and reviews of them good luck
  10. hard to tell from here, swing by your dealership to be sure ,on the oil pressure gage i have never bothered to look at how high it goes at 4k rpm,ask the dealership for a reliable answer...good luck and have a safe New Year....welcome to the group
  11. and i remember that the article he said the rust builds up right under the strap and you really cant see it from the side of it as well, and their was the other poster that said he was getting a low pedal at different times and it ended up being a caliper that froze up and wasn't working, i believe he said he had some one pushing on the brake pedal while he watched each caliper to see movement
  12. make sure the maintenance on the awd has been serviced and up to date
  13. he cut the wires and unplug the door connections so the short or problem should be in the dash or under the hood as he said it still blew the fuse, i would have assumed it was where the repair was. so have no real idea, for me it would be time to take it to a electrical shop or dealership for more help, sounds like he is capable of more troubleshooting so good luck
  14. welcome to the group, hope you have a safe New Year as well
  15. well sounds like someone did a terrible job at the door jam fixing the wires as dodge wouldn't have fixed it that way, i dont know if dodge would honor the repair now since it has been messed with, but sure wouldn't hurt to touch base with your local dealership,,,pretty sure that repair is where your problem short is....good luck and report back what you do
  16. after you find out the problem please repost what you did to fix it for others that might have this problem as well
  17. well you done most of what it could be, i googled and one article says that code is what he had and dealership replaced the oil pump itself..i had a oil sensor go bad cant remember the code but the dealership replaced the sensor and that fixed it..was just driving on a trip and all of a sudden the light came on and i checked the oil pressure gage and it was pegged out as high as it could go.good luck
  18. well first determine what fluid you are low on, then go from there
  19. yep they told me one time your cabin air filter is real dirty do you want us to change it i said okay this was on my 2011 and when they charged me $22. for it i said wtf, well that didnt happen any more i went and bought a k-n cabin air filter and when i bought my 2014 i pulled it out of the 2011 and transferred it to my 14 the same thing i did with my engine K-N air filter as well
  20. i have a 2014 and kept having problems with the rear alignment as well, i had them install after market adjustable upper rear trailing arm,,,,the factory oem are non adjustable. i didnt buy from amazon but this is what they installed on mine and it solves the problem they still get out of alignment but they can adj them back ...funny thing i had a 2011 with 70 k on it never a problem with the alignment but my 14 has been a problem i even bought a lifetime warranty 4 wheel alignment from Quick Lane Tire and Auto Service Center Specialty Products 67018 Trailing Arm for Chrysler/Dodge
  21. lol i just go to the local part store, they read for me and give a print out what it indicates and possible problem and fix for it ..... for free
