  1. plenty of info on the in the forum on the rear camera install, you could do it yourself and then have the dealership activate the sales code or just let them do it, or have an aftermarket one installed....
  2. as well pull the fuse for the alarm system to see if it is what is causing the problem and go from there
  3. you tube has some great videos on how to do a quick and easy way to replace a heater core on the drivers side on the journeys
  4. sorry for the poster that had problems with his 2012 journey altho that is some high mileage even for a 2012. i had a 2011 and traded it in with 70 k with no problems except with the smaller size brakes on it and the dealership took care of that, have had my 2014 and got 98 k on it now and had a oil sender unit went bad was covered under my max warranty at around 45 k and then had to pay for one wheel sensor that went out on it as the repair cost was under the ded on my warranty.some do have problems with their journey from what iv read but from my own experience they have been one of the most reliable cars iv owned in a long time.all vechiles have their own problems just look at the different ato blogs on the internet
  5. tried to find the article but havent found it yet, did find one about 2021 models that the v6 would be available only to awd journeys from what it read.i was thinking they want the journey to fade away and use the 3.6 engines for the new models coming out i guess....i also just read that GM is bringing back their 3 cyl engine as well
  6. actual i had read that the future journeys until till it is discontinued would only be available with the 4 cly
  7. dark road and a can of gas and a match, full insurance is a must
  8. first time iv heard this one, as stated above you could take it to an electrical shop but that could get expensive as well, as stated above it could be anything casing the problem, good luck and sorry i cant help
  9. your post doesn't make much sense, Is that service awd sensor or what?has the battery been load tested to see if its good by a auto garage ,not meaning we boosted it.assuming its a 3.6 eng?need a lot more info if you want help
  10. would seem like your local tire store or garage should be able to do it at a reasonable cost
  11. the sensors probally got damage and have to be replaced with new ones they cant be reprogrammed either they work or not
  12. i would assume you used google to find us and you can find a you tube video as well on how to replace a wheel sensor as well ,no its not hard to change one out but you will have to know which one is the bad one, have never changed one myself but had one go bad and let the dealership change it since they were going to do some other work as well they charged me $60 part and labor.... sensors run any where from $20-60 depending front or rear and who you buy them from and the quality of them. it could also be a bad wheel bearing as well instead of the senor.since you just had your brakes done maybe they messed one of the senors up in the process might want to have them recheck their work. the only safety concern of not fixing it right away is the anti skid on your brakes will not work but your brakes will continual as they have been with no problem and also your cruise control wont work due to the abs light on ,if you havent noticed yet.as i said before GOGGLE be thy friend

  14. you could do a reverse heater core flush. look on you tube for heater core quick replacement video.i would start with the thermostat replacement first as it would be the cheapest, find both the heater core hoses before they go Thur the firewall and see if they both are hot and warm or hot and cold, and i did just have a friend that spent a bunch of money fixing a no heat problem they replaced everything including the heater core and then she said they finally found out it was the oil cooler unit causing the problem i dont see how it could be that but the oil cooler does run coolant thur it as well.... good luck and keep us informed
  15. just hand tighten then just a bit more. it is a oil ring seal ,not a gasket on the caps
  16. correct they changed with the earlier model yr i have 2014 it has the new improved oil cooler ALSO be aware that they have 2 different oil filters due to this change so make sure you get the correct one
  17. first off do you have AWD if not then you skip the last two items as they cant be checked.spark plugs 100k if you have the 3.6 eng and have them do the trans service which is replacing the transmission filter and replace the transmission oil would recommend the dealership for both the plugs and trans service and and well replace the coolant fluid in your cooling system , Brakes on your journey are probally good to at least 100k i changed mine out at around 70 k and they were still half way good , but wouldn't hurt someone to check them out that you trust, change your engine air filter once a yr and as well the cabin air filter which you called the air condition filter i believe
  18. love it when they come here bitching every one out and then never come back to report what fix they found, i would bet it was a battery problem no one ever wants to believe it when their lights and radio still works...LOL and as well he describe resetting the lights as mentioned in the car manual and i bet he was reading where it was to resets the oil light icon Warning
  19. i would recommend a 7 yr battery with a full 3 yr replacement, not many offering that anymore, expect to pay around 100-150 for a good battery plus more for install have no idea as i do my own which is not that hard but takes about .5 to 1 hr depending on your skills and tools. plenty of u tube videos on how to do it as well. stay away from stores like (Walmart and Pep Boys ) other such good place would be your local garage that you have trust in or recommends from your friends,or pay the premium price from your dealership that knows your car the best at least it would be a nation wide warranty as well
  20. can you not drive it till they get the head in? yea this does suck, make sure your journey is in line to get fixed, sorry to hear this....just last yr i sold my truck to my step son thinking we didnt really need a second vec as i am the only one that drives most of the time but when things like this happens you need that extra vec.
  21. as above and also might be the rear brake pads low, yrs ago my daughters van brake light came on and it was the rear brake shoes were wore out,,,check the whole brake system and also have them check the parking brake cable to see if it has loosened up and or stuck,,,local brake shops would probally do most of this for free hoping they find the problem so they can charge you...good luck
