  1. well sometimes things just dont work out for the best, since i dont use the phones in the car i have no idea other than can an aftermarket device make it work right... as you said it is 10 yrs old.
  2. well at least it sounds like you are going to be covered, that is a big expense, bum a ride or carpool or whatever, maybe a different dealership could do it quicker. maybe dodge care could help out here. dont know how to flag them...
  3. i believe mechanicalidiot had one installed he said it took like 3 hrs for the install so doesn't sound like a quick grab and go repair, you could go by your local dealership they might be able to give you a heads up on it
  4. what do you mean,,, car start engine start program?hope you got a great deal. trans are expensive now days..let us know.
  5. well it is only 7 yrs old things do wear out dont know if you bought it new so dont know the upkeep on the service items plus where it has been driven i live in al so when i have to work under the car or brakes its a breeze because no rust, plus i do all the service or have it done at the times they are req, i had the trans fluid changed at 70 k plugs and coolant at about 92 k
  6. yes,, it could from what iv read on the subject, now i would also be concerned about the awd service light, you said it keeps coming back on after going off.i dont have and dont want awd but have you ever had it serviced????? as that might as well be the cause of your light problems.. a lot of posters here here have had problems with the power transfer unit low of fluid and other problems. i would replace the wheel bearing hub first then later on i would advise you to have the fluid serviced on the power transfer unit as well as that can be $$$ to replace and it also is a bitch to service from what iv read about...good luck and keep us informed on what you find out.....
  7. you are a lucky man,if thats all you got to complain about,,,but that said i feel your pain but the answer is No as far as i know
  8. just another reason i dont want an awd vech
  9. well you are past the mileage on the plugs, but that wouldn't be your problem, did you have a load check done on the new battery??? what brand alt did you use yrs ago my dad had problems with an alt on his caravan they kept replacing them and then he would have problems he finally took it to a dodge dealership they put on a oem alt and no more problems, manger said the system on the caravan didnt respond well to some off brand alt. just a thought before you start throwing $$ into other parts.
  10. yep should be covered under power train warranty
  11. wait and see what car max will do, you might be able to fix it with some after market sealer but dont know of one ,also you could pickup a tank from a salvage yard ( u pull it and the other ones)would probally have everything in it i would assume a lot cheaper then new the tank i seen on e bay was about 185 with nothing but the tank but id be afraid to buy from there.. if the tank is not leaking since it is low you might just be able to seal it but it would have to be really cleaned up and free of any containment but could be dome depending on where and how bad the leak
  12. The average cost for a Dodge Journey fuel tank replacement is between $1,342 and $1,399. Labor costs are estimated between $216 and $273 while parts are priced at $1126.......... Estimate does not include taxes and fees. pulled this of internet i would assume how many parts you replaced at the same time, ex fuel pumps, straps, and what ever else ...................also i looked on e bay and the gas tank there for sale also had the blue marking around the plastic fill valve that is probally where your leak is at between the valve and the gas tank it self... good luck
  13. well did you try to clean it off and dry it off and see where the leak is its either at the hose end or around the plastic inlet at the tank? quit worrying about it being a safety hazard ,and or recalls and such,,,,wouldn't take long to find out where the leak is. and yes it wont be covered under the power train but if you bought a extended warranty it might be,, but as i have a 100 ded myself so you might want to fix this yourself if you can. as a rubber hose or plastic fitting might not be covered and then you will still be out the fee for checking it out.as for the blue ring i would be that is the manufactures process as i see blue as well going around the tank seams
  14. well since you have the extended warranty, wouldn't worry about it.if you didnt i would clean it off really good. crank it up and you should see where it is leaking you might would have to let it run for a while to build pressure but shouldn't take long. my daughters caravan started leaking gas on topof the tank where the fuel pump was bolted to the tank it was a plastic fitting where the gas was delivered to the fuel line. there are a lot of you tube vid on it was a common failure...at least this is easy to see where it is coming from..please take the time to report back what they did and the cost for other posters that might come up with this problem....happy trails
  15. by go away, do you mean it starts working or go black????
  16. mine is still working 8 times out of 10 times. but when it messes up the screen goes black and the words check entire surroundings is gone as well, i seen ton the charger you tube they been experiencing what i have it has been fixed by replacing the actual camera lens, but also they dont mention if it is intermittent or always going black, since yours is showing what looks like interference static i would assume you have a bare wire shorting out i would check the rubber boot cover over the wires at the top left rear of your hatchback........................ i did check my wiring at the rubber boot and didnt find anything or any broken wires and since my rear camera was added at the dealership the 2 wires plus the big white cable wasn't buried in the wire loom or taped up into the other wires....good luck
  17. well at least you have it back repeated times for the same reason under warranty and since you say you are over the 36 k but didnt say how far you are sometimes if its close to the 36 k they will sometimes fix the problem again under a good will appreciation gesture, but you will probally have to go above the dealership head to corporate to get it they did it twice for me on different vehicles be nice but firm that you have had it in before for several times and it was never fixed that it keeps coming back. might want to try a different dealership[ even if its inconvenient to you....perhaps dodge care will speak up here and offer you some help...take care and keep us informed on what is happening
  18. good thoughts coming your way,,,,,,,,,,,,,, one thing i dont like is not having a dip stick for the trans, i did mark my oil dip stick so if i want to check the trans fluid i can....
  19. remove the black rubber cover for the wires at the top left side of the hatch back, and check by squishing the rubber sleeve downward to see if you can see any broken or wires with the insulation scraped off, this is the most likely place for broken wires,if so you can splice them if you feel capable to do it. i checked mine when my rear camera was acting up but there wasn't any broken wires there, then i found on you tube by accident that the Dodge chargers were having a lot of the same thing happening to like mine was, and it ends up being the actual camera lens is going bad.oh well wait for it to go out then claim it when i have to go in for something else on the max warranty i have
  20. 1.5 yrs of warranty ,then use it probally the one remote buttons are not making contact when pushed, maybe something has contaminated the fob housing causing the problems take it apart and try to clean with some electrical contact cleaner if you want to fix it yourself BUT that might void the 1.5 yr warranty you have left good luck
  21. as OshareFred stated you have warranty i would assume use it,dont delay, get it fixed before your warranty runs out.also are you saying you only have 1 fob and if you have both, are they both doing the same thing?
  22. 5 yr 100k powertrain warranty call your local dealership they will tell you to bring it in you can verify with them if you still have the powertrain warranty but i would assume you do
  23. good luck no diesels over here in the US.we get a few answers from overseas.good luck and report back what you find out for other posters as well
  24. this is the problem a lot of times people ask for help and then finally get it fixed but never come back to report what they found out or did,,he probally took it back to the dealership which would have been the smartest thing to do.since he had warranty..
  25. just keep us informed on what ever happens so any one else that this happens to can have a way think might be wrong i their problem good luck
