  1. who is doing the programming and with what?great this fixed your problem.might want to go back and explain to the electric guy who couldn't fix it so he might know what to do for the next guy, he shold have know about this
  2. what was your problem and symptoms that the TIPM was able to fix?
  3. well i dont see no hazardous rags or clean up charges on there, as most shops charge for such things, and no gas doesn't necessarily clean everything clean it leaves a residue on parts.maybe they had to clean out the gas tank. did they charge you anything under the warranty? dont see where you owed anything so whats your problem.. good luck i think you will need it...
  4. guess thats how they make their $$, most dealerships repair shops are closed on sat and Sunday my dealership is open till 12 noon on sat.hope they get you going soon just an other reason i dont buy used yes you might save some $$ but used things are usually trouble
  5. just run by your local dealership they will be able to help you out in just a few moments or tell you if you have a problem
  6. wouldn't be surprised that such a clause does exist, and for the Peugeot merger, i hope it turns out better than the merger of equals did with Mercedes
  7. well not trying to stir the pot but 10 yr old mechanical part that breaks can be replaced no problem but 10 yr old software updates on electronics is a whole another story look at window updates they only go back so far.and my chrome laptop with google i just recently found out they have a 3-5 yr end of life updates as well. it still works okay but no more security updates for it.of course they dont tell you this when you buy it...
  8. so you buy a used journey at car max and buy their warranty and then blame dodge for not wanting to fix it? something is not right here sounds like your beef is with car max not dodge...raise some hell at car max,but unless it has less than 3 yr/36 k on dodge has no skin in the game...good luck might want to try some junk yards for a used tank
  9. sorry didnt mean to piss you off, that was just a suggestion?as i said i dont get into all this new fangled electronics.good luck on getting it fixed
  10. well sometimes things just dont work out for the best, since i dont use the phones in the car i have no idea other than can an aftermarket device make it work right... as you said it is 10 yrs old.
  11. well at least it sounds like you are going to be covered, that is a big expense, bum a ride or carpool or whatever, maybe a different dealership could do it quicker. maybe dodge care could help out here. dont know how to flag them...
  12. i believe mechanicalidiot had one installed he said it took like 3 hrs for the install so doesn't sound like a quick grab and go repair, you could go by your local dealership they might be able to give you a heads up on it
  13. what do you mean,,, car start engine start program?hope you got a great deal. trans are expensive now days..let us know.
  14. well it is only 7 yrs old things do wear out dont know if you bought it new so dont know the upkeep on the service items plus where it has been driven i live in al so when i have to work under the car or brakes its a breeze because no rust, plus i do all the service or have it done at the times they are req, i had the trans fluid changed at 70 k plugs and coolant at about 92 k
  15. yes,, it could from what iv read on the subject, now i would also be concerned about the awd service light, you said it keeps coming back on after going off.i dont have and dont want awd but have you ever had it serviced????? as that might as well be the cause of your light problems.. a lot of posters here here have had problems with the power transfer unit low of fluid and other problems. i would replace the wheel bearing hub first then later on i would advise you to have the fluid serviced on the power transfer unit as well as that can be $$$ to replace and it also is a bitch to service from what iv read about...good luck and keep us informed on what you find out.....
  16. you are a lucky man,if thats all you got to complain about,,,but that said i feel your pain but the answer is No as far as i know
  17. just another reason i dont want an awd vech
  18. well you are past the mileage on the plugs, but that wouldn't be your problem, did you have a load check done on the new battery??? what brand alt did you use yrs ago my dad had problems with an alt on his caravan they kept replacing them and then he would have problems he finally took it to a dodge dealership they put on a oem alt and no more problems, manger said the system on the caravan didnt respond well to some off brand alt. just a thought before you start throwing $$ into other parts.
  19. yep should be covered under power train warranty
  20. wait and see what car max will do, you might be able to fix it with some after market sealer but dont know of one ,also you could pickup a tank from a salvage yard ( u pull it and the other ones)would probally have everything in it i would assume a lot cheaper then new the tank i seen on e bay was about 185 with nothing but the tank but id be afraid to buy from there.. if the tank is not leaking since it is low you might just be able to seal it but it would have to be really cleaned up and free of any containment but could be dome depending on where and how bad the leak
  21. The average cost for a Dodge Journey fuel tank replacement is between $1,342 and $1,399. Labor costs are estimated between $216 and $273 while parts are priced at $1126.......... Estimate does not include taxes and fees. pulled this of internet i would assume how many parts you replaced at the same time, ex fuel pumps, straps, and what ever else ...................also i looked on e bay and the gas tank there for sale also had the blue marking around the plastic fill valve that is probally where your leak is at between the valve and the gas tank it self... good luck
  22. well did you try to clean it off and dry it off and see where the leak is its either at the hose end or around the plastic inlet at the tank? quit worrying about it being a safety hazard ,and or recalls and such,,,,wouldn't take long to find out where the leak is. and yes it wont be covered under the power train but if you bought a extended warranty it might be,, but as i have a 100 ded myself so you might want to fix this yourself if you can. as a rubber hose or plastic fitting might not be covered and then you will still be out the fee for checking it out.as for the blue ring i would be that is the manufactures process as i see blue as well going around the tank seams
  23. well since you have the extended warranty, wouldn't worry about it.if you didnt i would clean it off really good. crank it up and you should see where it is leaking you might would have to let it run for a while to build pressure but shouldn't take long. my daughters caravan started leaking gas on topof the tank where the fuel pump was bolted to the tank it was a plastic fitting where the gas was delivered to the fuel line. there are a lot of you tube vid on it was a common failure...at least this is easy to see where it is coming from..please take the time to report back what they did and the cost for other posters that might come up with this problem....happy trails
  24. by go away, do you mean it starts working or go black????
  25. mine is still working 8 times out of 10 times. but when it messes up the screen goes black and the words check entire surroundings is gone as well, i seen ton the charger you tube they been experiencing what i have it has been fixed by replacing the actual camera lens, but also they dont mention if it is intermittent or always going black, since yours is showing what looks like interference static i would assume you have a bare wire shorting out i would check the rubber boot cover over the wires at the top left rear of your hatchback........................ i did check my wiring at the rubber boot and didnt find anything or any broken wires and since my rear camera was added at the dealership the 2 wires plus the big white cable wasn't buried in the wire loom or taped up into the other wires....good luck
