  1. so many parts replaced due to bad connectors and frayed wires as well.yrs ago my daughter had problems with her caravan rubbing real bad one minuet then okay the next after a bunch of coils replaced it was found to be a bad connector that would work okay for a while then vibrate or short out and then work again till it went bad again and then short out the coil again but it was the wire ans connector that connected to the coil that was bad,we were just lucky the mechanic had bought a lifetime warranty on all his parts as he replaced that coil about 3 times before he seen the plastic connector looking deformed on the inside of the connector
  2. in the U.S. when changing the battery in our key fobs do NOT need reprogramming, i have heard about local key shops that can reprogram the key fobs to work with the journeys when one has been lost. hard to believe you would have to have it reprogrammed just due to replacing a battery in your key fob ,,,good luck on your problem
  3. i guess a fuse box could go bad from vibration or real bad corrosion or some other fault but highly unlikely, there was one poster that said he removed the fuse box under the hood and said it was corroded up real bad where it made contact to the base of it,that does make sense if your are in such a place wear there is a lot of salt or corrosive conditions, might be worth a try to remove it and clean everything up and make sure all the connections are clean and tight.
  4. no mention on where you live so we probally cant help, all i can advise is junk yards or part places on line and at the end dodge dealership.good luck
  5. seen this post on Facebook the poster said he was having all kinds of problems with journey not starting said it ended up being a starter relay for what it is worth thought i would post it here...........So for a update the starter /12v multipurpose relay was my route cause to all of my intermediate starting issues. Got my new relay last night and it fired right up 1st try this morning. So glad to have this issue that has costed me over $600 to find then fix with a $40 relay with a lifetime warranty on it.
  6. seems like some said you cant add it to the new journeys, same thing happened to my 2011 took about a yr before all of a sudden it could be added, personally i dont see why not same parts as the earlier models...good luck P.S. personally i wouldn't add the nav they seam to have to much problems with that
  7. he never reported back what he found so if you find the fix please report back so others like you will have some info ..good luck
  8. have no idea probally for the water to go towards the side to drain, just glue it back.happy trails...
  9. well sounds like you have a major short some where,I would suggest taking it to a specially shop that works on electrical problems
  10. 3.6 had some head problems but i havent heard of any problems with the 2.4 eng for the head,i would def have the compression test done yes its an extra cost but then you will have more info on what is not wrong.good luck
  11. well good luck on finding out your problem just wondering, did you use the OEM copper plugs or go with something NOT recommend for your engine ? we have had some posters find out their problem ended up being the different plugs they tried using .not arguing just trying to eliminate the easy cheap possible problem and again wish you the best and report back when you find out your problem for other potential bloggers who might come up with the same problem
  12. well not sure on the km to miles but the 2.4 plugs should be be changed every 30 k and need to use the OEM copper plugs for best results so maybe the #1 plug is going bad or the coil, not sure but i would replace all the plugs again, good luck
  13. welcome to the group looks great
  14. i marked my oil dip stick even tho not having any problems just so i could check it
  15. this a hard question to answer so many have said different things they found that they said fixed their problems from bad grounds at the frame and starter to corrosion under the fuse block that you are showing in the pics..good luck might want to check with a electrical expert shop on cars for more help
  16. agree with the above post,if wires are missing its because of someone removing them ,as from the factory they would have been there and the horn would have worked, did you get a car fax or anything on this journey? the rear door lights would be a switch not being activated or possible wiring messed up .sounds like your car has been involved in an accident or something for wires being missing and being repaired maybe by a fly by night repair shop so it might not show up in paperwork somewhere....good luck P.S. nice looking car for its age....
  17. i dont use the closest dodge dealership to where i live i drive an extra 20 miles to one i have found i can trust and as far as the nav i dont have it and dont want it same for the awd just more problems and no real benefit as far as i can see. take care
  18. sorry you are having problems with your journey, sometimes some are just a money pit but just as you bought a used one doesn't mean it was taken care of before you got it,also third party warranty are usually a pain in the arse to work with is it the dodge dealership you are working with or a different dealership it makes a BIG difference, and as you make the comment older vehicles are still available but they dont offer the options that most drivers are wanting these days, hopefully they can find your problem i had a 2011 mainstreet journey that i put 70 k on without no real problems except the smaller brakes that they came with, like it so much i traded it in on my 2014 and have 93 k on it with only 2 small repairs on it
