  1. rockauto shows both the same part number...............numbers Google is your friend DENSO 2344547 $30.79 Each
  2. make sure of the connectors as well,, there can be problem with the connection inside the plastic housings
  3. So which engine??? Also how many miles on it, might need to do a coolant replacement along with a thermostat replacement...... if 3.6 mine runs from 200 to 215 depending on the heat and how fast I am driving or stuck in traffic,,,,had to replace my thermostat on on 2014 a yr or two ago so you might want to do that just as a preventive maintenance........JUST make sure you are using the correct coolant as well
  4. so did you replace the battery a second time since the dealership said it was bad? since the alt was replaced with an OEM alt I assume? is the battery is still reading good of bad?you might have a parasite draw draining the battery,, is it sputtering when you drive it? you don't mention the miles on the speedo
  5. well he could just use a local garage to change out the battery , which would be cheaper than you driving there and back unless you just want to visit him? just a thought just a little bit ago my grandson showed up doe his oil change that I always do for him,( he has a bit of adhd ) and also I don't rust quick oil change places anyways he mentions a noise on his front brakes ,so to make a long story short we also did a brake Pad and rotor job,,,gotta love them kids.....
  6. I assume you have the 2.4 eng, when you changed the plugs I hope you used the OEM ( NGK V-Power Spark Plug ZFR5F-11) as they are the best and cheapest for the 2.4,you have ground straps that could be going bad or not making correct connections this info you can find on YouTube for the location on them, misfires can also be caused by the coils going bad which cly did it show for the misfire and switch out to a different plug to see if the code moves to that plug,,also check the connectors on the coils and the wires that connect to them to make sure they are clean and no shorts or bares spots, also be a great time to rub it by auto zone or another part stores to have the battery checked and also the alt to see if it is working correctly as well
  7. Just so you know that doing the ignition code check by cycling it 3 times IS not the same as using a real code scanner, good luck and hope you find a loose connector for the easy fix.
  8. So if you have the ext warranty and it will cover the 02 sensors,, wont it cover the cat as well?
  9. shouldn't make a difference checking the alt and battery from the eng post connections,, I once had a part store saying my starter was showing slow starting due to something ( I forget what he called them) but not to replace it till goes bad, that it might go out the next day or yrs down the line, which it did go bad about 5 yrs later, well since you scoped the connections on the battery to see if they were tight, I would def take the time to actually check them with a wrench or hand to be sure, yes a bit of trouble but a lot less than changing out a starter or trying to check the blower motor , but you do what you want to do.sounds like a loose connections or bad ground to me.....blower resistor could be going bad or have a dead spot in it , don't know if the journeys have a separate one or if its built into the blower motor itself
  10. BUT have you had them recheck it again now that you are having a problem,a lot of aftermarket parts have turned to crap in the last few yrs, also are you sure the battery cables were installed clean and tight?we just had someone on here post about that and then they replied well the neg cable was found to be loose, check the cheap things before throwing more parts.
  11. so which engine do you have? and you really want an answer to why something was engineered the way it was.....
  12. I am a big fan of akebono brake pads ( us made and most of the time they are the OEM pads for dodge as well) I buy them off amazon along with rotors,,best price and selection than the local part stores
  13. welcome to the group, that said I have always just used the group 86 in my 2014 I use interstate battery and have had good luck with them, not sure if they have them there,,,I would just use the best battery and not worry about upsizing and it wold be better to check out your parasite drain go Thur the forum a lot of discussions there, biggest cause has been the Bluetooth module going bad,you can just pull a fuse to disable it,/ glove box light staying on,or the touch door handle sensors causing the int lights to come on intermittently...good luck on what you find and please report back on what you find to be your problem as well for others
  14. I have always used the group 86 in my 2014 3.6 journey, there is usually a small difference between the two of them the specs are the same but the group 86 has DieHard Silver Battery: 86 Group Size, 525 CCA, 655 CA, 90 Minute Reserve Capacity, For Lower Power Demands vs DieHard Silver Battery: 26 Group Size, 525 CCA, 655 CA, 60 Minute Reserve Capacity, For Lower Power Demands
  15. I just had a battery checked at the parts store and it showed a full charge BUT when he put it under a load check, it showed as being weak,,,,also the battery (Interstate brand) is 4 yrs old...So with all your post I would say replace the battery, but if you want to go the cheap route have it checked and then hope it will still work ...Journeys love a fully charged battery and they act out badly with weak ones....So a 9yr old battery maybe replaced after 4-5 yrs and the battery you have now is probably 4-5 yrs old your choice,,,,,and yes we all know where the battery is located....
  16. did it run or start after putting in the new battery also you say you replaced the battery terminals did you use the correct one with the battery temp connector on it? who did the work you or a mechanic? you need to take the battery and have it checked to make sure it is still good and yes we ALL know where the battery is, good luck
  17. strange his entire post looks like it has been copied and pasted due to the slight dark color around all the words..looks like we are getting a lot of weird post here all of a sudden
  18. LOL so much useless info without the needed info? most important which engine and how many miles on your journey? who is doing the diagnostics/ dealership or local garage? new to you or have you owned your journey for a long time and what kind of maintenance have you done or not done?
  19. depends on what kind of warranty you purchased and also what ded you have as mentioned the part isn't that expensive and takes about .5 hr to replace,,,as mentioned check out YouTube the part I held in with 2-3 screws just hard to reach kind of awkward try tapping it with a long screwdriver they tend to stick in the closed position P.S. it has been mentioned to only use OEM blend doors actuators instead of aftermarket/amazon parts that don't last...just a recommendation
  20. I don't have AWD but it doesn't sound right, might want to run it by a transmission shop and see what they say, should be a free check
  21. as you said a 2 yr old post with no follow up from the org poster who only posted one time, this doesn't help other people needing help as well....feed back is very important on the solutions to their problems
  22. abs and traction control lights will also deactivate cruise control
  23. I would have to think he disconnected something by accident and does not realize it as his journey was working okay before trying to add the freon, and could be due to an anti theft system if so equipped,,,,,,,,,hope he responds back on his solution after he finds out the problem
