  1. Update: just pulled the plug back to the windshield. I worked it between the rubber seal and the cowl right over by the edge. Works great! Totally not in the way when not plugged in. I left very little slack so it wouldn't be flapping or dangling. Thanks Chris!
  2. I know exactly what you mean about the "arc" on the headlight. My Caravan did the same thing. Hmm, your idea of routing it back to the windshield is intriguing. I think I may try that!
  3. Given that they spent $1.3 billion to save thousands and thousands of middle class working man jobs versus $700 billion given away to the banks and investment houses to do... well what did it do? Anyway, I'd say that was money well spent when you consider the economic DISASTER that would have been if Chrysler and GM had both gone under. Consider that it's not just the employees at the factory that would have been impacted - there's thousands of jobs with suppliers that would have been lost, dealerships in every city and town... it would have been a bloodbath.
  4. Switch badging mid model year? Heck, in 2011 they switched the entire front and rear fascia halfway through the model year.
  5. The review has been changed. I guess the author must have seen this thread!
  6. What specifically is the size you ordered? These online "select by vehicle" searches are incredibly frustrating. Apparently 1010tires has zero tires that would fit my stock 19's and tirerack.com just has the OEM Khumos.
  7. Thanks Geer. Let me know how they fit when you get them!
  8. Yeah, but then you'd have to be the one seen driving a Flex. Ew.
  9. Hey Geer, Since it just snowed heavy for the first time today, I finally got to take my Journey out in the snow and yeah, those tires don't really inspire confidence. I would say though that they're no worse than the ones that were on my Caravan. I'm in Winnipeg too, so I'm curious where you got winter tires from. Also, what size and wheel did you go with?
  10. Yeah, it kind of seems like that rear fascia is pretty flimsy to begin with. Not sure how well it would take having those things bolted on.
  11. Yeah, some vehicles if left unplugged for an extended period of time below -25 to -30ÂșC will not start. Extended period being about 8 hours. So, if you go home and forget to plug in the block heater, it probably won't start the next morning. Most businesses where employees park all day have the parking lot wired with plugs at the stalls. It's cold here in January! I just fished my plug out from under the hood for the first time. Found it tucked over by the fuse box. Wow, they don't give you much slack at all... There's just enough to run it out from under the hood and have it hang over the driver's side headlight.
  12. Just buy a portable DVD player for like, $100.
  13. Wow, someone should fire that Fenkell guy if he keeps damaging cars!
  14. In Canada, we don't have the same R/T as you guys in the US. Our R/T is equal to your Lux package. It's also the only trim level here that you can get leather seats and AWD.
  15. Chris, I have to ask, did you test drive a Journey with the V6?
  16. Yep, that's what happened here too. When we went to buy back in April, not a single dealer in the city had a Journey on their lot with the Bluetooth. Since that was also right around the time of the Japan earthquake as well, we didn't want to special order one because half the colour choices weren't available. So, we've got a fully loaded R/T except for VC.
  17. Yeah, it's kind of irritating that no one bothered to proof read the manual before it went to print.
  18. Wow, this is getting elaborate for something that may or may not ever happen. The car comes with two fobs - what's the chance that you'll lose both of them... at the same time? I've pulled out the "emergency key" and it has no ignition capability. What I mean is, pretty much every vehicle made these days has an RFID chip in the base of the key which is required to start the car due to the imobilizer technology. The emergency key is just a piece of metal with almost no base. The only thing it's good for is unlocking the driver's door in case of the vehicle's battery being completely dead. The days of hiding a spare key in a little magnetic box on the underside of the car are over. If you lose your key fob, you'll have to call someone to bring the second one to you from home. If you lose both, I suppose you'll have to call roadside assistance and have to towed to a dealership so they can program a new fob for you. Since the key fob operates the doors, AND it never has to leave your pocket (because you don't have to put your key in the ignition) it's virtually impossible to lock yourself out, or your keys in the car.
  19. You should see what it's like with the 3.6! I've driven over to Kenora and it's amazing on the hills. Pull out and pass - uphill - with 5 adults in the car - no problem.
  20. I rarely rely on the analog spedo anyway because the marks are so small and the needle is so large that it's difficult to read accurately. Why the entire second half of the speedometer is taken up by speeds that will never be used is beyond me (anyone planning to go 240 km/h?).
  21. The 2010's are better than the 2009's. The 2011's are amazing compared to those two, but you'll have a difficult time finding a used 2011 at this time since they've only been on the market since last November.
  22. My old former Eagle Talon had the same thing about mismatched tires. If you replaced one, you had to replace all of them because the difference in tread thickness would cause all sorts or issues.
