Well. . . we have been walking. Getting to a baseball game, the market, the distillery district, chinatown, and all 5 breweries was a feat for us. Fun though, eh. Peace
-
Off to Detroit and Cleveland for more baseball. . .
-
Today was really great. Kensington market was really cool. 5 breweries in 3 days was a feat. People here are quite nice. Really like my Canada experience. Peace.
-
Thanks. I expected to hear more hosers and Eh's. Got my first Eh at the baseball game yesterday. Beautiful weather. Going to explore more of Toronto today. Peace.

Watched the blue jays beat up the rays today. Visited Bellwoods and Mill St breweries. I have really liked Canada so far. Toronto is a chill city. Real quiet for a city. Have noticed lots of DJ here. Not sure what we're doing tomorrow. Peace.

I haven't but I love car shows. I'd do it if I had a chance. I suppose the type of car show would determine how a DJ would show. A DJ next to classic cars would not necessarily be a hit, but a mod-ed DJ would show just as well as any other modern mod. Peace.

I agree. 50s better. It's what I did and they are perfect. Peace.

Should I complain about the factory paint job?
redtomatoman replied to scorpionman1958's topic in Appearance
Show up over there. I'm sure they'd love to see you. Especially if they screwed something up. That's what I'd do. Peace. -
It's always in the top 5. Routinely beats out the charger and challenger. I love it, but the the Journey is treated like a red headed step child by mopar enthusiasts. Weird. Yeah, chargers and challengers are cool. I think DJs are cool too. Peace.

Not sure I'd go that far. I ride a suspension rig. Even my SS is full suspension. Fully rigid riders are the tuffest, I'll give you that! Peace.
-
I love it. Fully rigid. That's the spirit of a tuff mountain biker. Have fun! Peace.
-
Right. I wholeheartedly agree. Couldn't have said it better myself. Peace.

Anything but a Subaru. Cheap. Cheap. Cheap. IMHO. Peace.

Cool. Just wondered. EVIC says OK for tire pressure, so I figured as much. Thanks. Peace.

those with fuel level issues
redtomatoman replied to b1pig's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Filled up today after the fuel light came on. EVIC didn't even give a miles to empty estimate, just "Low Fuel". Only took 17.3 gallons. Gauge read full after filling. My gauge definitely reads E too soon. But, just like Journeyman says, good safety against running out of fuel. Peace. -
So I've not had experience with tpms prior to my DJ. I was on a road trip and decided to look at my EVIC tire pressure while rolling down the highway. The pressures were 45 all around. Is that normal? I was surprised that the pressure was as high as it was. Peace.

those with fuel level issues
redtomatoman replied to b1pig's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
Filled my DJ up today with less than 1/8 reading on the gauge. Took 15.3 us gallons. Couldn't get much more in by clicking. I think the gauge just reads low. Mine anyway. Peace. -
Journey SRT planned for 2016
redtomatoman replied to redtomatoman's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
I saw a rumor that the new RWD Journey will be renamed Durango. I wouldn't be surprised if the DJ is "discontinued" by scraping the too big Durango and continuing the redesigned Journey under that more popular alias name. We'll see. . . Peace. -
Oil change Synthetic or regular oil?
redtomatoman replied to Maverick24's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
Small amounts of particulate matter get into the oil. Over time it is this grit that wears out the cylinders, rings, etc. Even though the lubrication may be better with synthetic initially. About 5k miles, I believe, they are equal due to the oil no longer being clean. Its the next 5k miles that are causing engine wear. Even worse if you use a higher flow filter like K&N. Changing your oil more frequently gets the engine clean oil and a fresh oil filter. AND, an opportunity to check the air filter. I'm no mechanic, I'm not really even a good driver, but that's my theory on oil and engine life. I change my DJ's oil every 6 months or 5k miles, whichever comes first. I change my 1991 dakota's oil every 3k. 243k miles and still running strong. Sorry if my post drudges up the same old oil debate, I just couldn't resist. Notice I only gave my opinion, not any inference as to what others should do. Peace. -
Cool. Watching. . . Peace.

Oil change Synthetic or regular oil?
redtomatoman replied to Maverick24's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
I'm going to play the devil's advocate and go against the grain here. Dino is better if you change more frequently and continually have clean oil in your engine. There. I said it. I have my flame suit on and I'm pretty bullet-proof. Peace. -
those with fuel level issues
redtomatoman replied to b1pig's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
I haven't done anything with my 2011 and it seems to have gotten better with time. The fuel gauge reads full when the pump clicks off. I still think the gauge reaches empty a little faster than the actual level of gas in the tank b/c if I fill with 1/8 reading on the gauge (about 2.6 US gallons left) for instance, the pump will often only make it to 16 or 17 gallons before it clicks off at full. I can't seem to force much more than 1/2 US gallon in the tank by repeated clicks if I try. Used to be a gallon or 1.5 gallons if I worked at it. Dunno. Now I just fill until it clicks off, then I fill it again when the gauge gets near empty. Recently, I've tried not to be so cerebral about this gas gauge thing. Maybe that's why I think its better. . . Ha! Peace. -
Right. The folks at allpar don't have any better idea what's going to happen than we do. That was my original point. Their synopsis makes only limited sense. I wonder if the DJ may be discontinued in favor of a Chrysler CUV. All the delays just say that FCA hasn't decided yet, I think. Peace.

Teardrop. Sweet. That's what I want to do eventually. I need to add the hitch. Keep us updated with your teardrop experience. Peace.
