Found this on the allpar site regarding what's upcoming for 2016: Dodge will have a very busy 2016, if the plan is to be believed, but recent reports claim Journey will be pushed back, and an SRT version is unlikely. We believe that Journey is going to move to the new rear drive platform shared with Alfa Romeo, Chrysler will get a front wheel drive crossover based on Cherokee to replace Journey and Fiat Freemont, and the new Journey will have to wait for Alfa Romeo to get a similar vehicle so they can claim to have engineered both. Not sure what it means, really. A FWD Chrysler crossover will replace the DJ, but not until they redesign the DJ as a RWD crossover at a later time to coincide with an Alfa Romeo? I think I know less now than before I read the article. Peace.

A 1987 Schwinn Prologue road bike, a 1997 Schwinn Homegrown, a 2014 Giant Trance 29er, a mash tun, 3 fermenters, and both of my longboards. Oh, and my wife's 2006 Saturn Vue. Peace.

Would you mind posting the website and registering info again? I guess I missed it. Not obvious when I re-scrolled through the thread. I'll sign up. If others are like me, we will need lots of guidance to get the OBD and pi hardware, whatever those are. . . Where does this stuff go? Will this stuff affect my lifetime warranty for the electronics? Peace.

Lights turn on with wipers?
redtomatoman replied to Maritimer1577's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
The thing I don't like is that you can't set the dash lights for both daylight rain lighting and nighttime lighting. If one is correct the other is annoyingly not right. Either too dim during rain or way too bright at night. If dodge addresses that, then fine. Not sure lights make rainy driving much safer. How bout slowing down? Peace. -
Lights turn on with wipers?

There's a setting in uconnect. You can turn it off. I don't like it. Its in the manual. I highly recommend you spend some time with the manual. There's lots of good info there. Peace. -
I think there's a 3 and 5 year stipulation in there somewhere. Peace.

If you haven't done so already, the dealership can clean your a/c system. It definitely makes a difference. I think the service is $99 or so. Cleans out the mold infections that occasionally happen inside the a/c (evaporator, I think). Mine hasn't had the moldy smell, but they recommended the service and I did it. Smelled real good after. These mold infections can recur after the service if they don't get every mold cell. May take a few times to eradicate the infection. Good luck. Peace.

Cool. I was beginning to wonder. . . Sorry to hear about the domestic violence nonsense. Peace.

clunk sound when accelerating
redtomatoman replied to Eric Evans's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Huh. OK. Happens with mine. I still think its tranny. Maybe different variations of the same behavior. Or maybe my axle is about to come off. . . ;-) Peace. -
clunk sound when accelerating
redtomatoman replied to Eric Evans's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Check resuming cruise control after hitting cancel and coasting. Mine sounds like a transmission clunk. I think we are experiencing the same behavior. I'd be curious to know what was actually "re-torqued". Peace. -
clunk sound when accelerating
redtomatoman replied to Eric Evans's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Mine does this. Feels and sounds like a transmission clunk in my DJ. Resuming the cruise control will cause it or sometimes reapplying the accelerator after a coast will cause it. Are we talking about the same thing here? Should I have my front axles checked? I have always assumed it was a tranny noise. Re-torqued implies that axles were still tight but a clunk in the axle says to me that something came loose. If so, I'd say it was a re-tightening or securing of something related to the axle. That's mildly frightening. I think that checking the axles is part of the routine dealership inspection. Is it not? Peace. -
I agree with Rolly. Bring this to the service manager's attention. There seems to have been some bad behavior here, but you won't know for sure unless it is investigated. Maybe they reinstalled your tape??? If not, then the documentation vs work performed inequality is serious. The service mgr deserves to be told. (S)he may be unaware. If you decide to do your own oil changes, keep all receipts and a log of dates and mileage for future warranty service needs. Chrysler can deny warranty in the absence of relevant maintenance records. Good luck. Peace.

Got the clip replaced. Thanks bram. I love my phone, but I learned today that it doesn't have a macro function. Oh well, haven't needed it until today. I'll be sure to inquire when I get a new phone. Peace.

A small metal clip fell out from the underside of my CD player after having the dealer replace my radio. Any idea where it came from? Peace.

How about ability to transfer addresses from smart phone to navigation module (under recently found)? Ability to honk the horn from your phone if you happen to need to locate the vehicle outside of remote range? I use android. Peace. Peace.

How about control HVAC? Control defrost vs dash air and control cabin temp selections to be able to set it for cold in the summer and warm defrost in the winter. Peace.

http://allparnews.com/index.php/2015/05/clickbait-scandal-gm-fca-forbidding-diy-car-repairs-28480 I think the concept of this is awesome. Saw this article. Just thought I'd post here. Peace.

I have found mine to be quite accurate (within 0.5 mpg). I only check it on road trips, so maybe that's why. Highway with infrequent stops. In town, mine reads about 19 mpg. On the highway, it reads 25 to 28 mpg. One thing I will say is that our DJs are VERY affected by headwind. The EVIC will read as low as 21 mpg. I have actually gotten as good as 33 mpg (verified) on open roads with lower 65 m/hr speed limits. Too many factors for these mpg readings to be spot on. Peace.

Lame. Everyone's a critic. Peace.

Radio Sound Problem
redtomatoman replied to DHP's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
There's a TSB. The blasting thing is a known problem. Go back or find a competent service department. Peace.
