  1. Normally after I update my iPod and plug it in, my uconnect system begins some sort of scan of the iPod contents. During that time, the browse feature is not available. It generally begins playing the same first songs. As an aside, I can't figure out why these songs are first, but it is consistent. Billy Squier first. Whatever. . . The initial scan usually takes about 40,seconds per gig on the iPod. TODAY though, after an iTunes update of my iPod, there was no scan and the latest updated content was there. Browse was immediately available too. This has never happened before. Very happy if this is the behavior that will consistently follow. The only thing that has changed recently was a software update to enable my DRLs (Thanks Journeyman) in concert with an oil change. Not sure if this had anything to do with it. I will update after my next iPod update. Do other's have this update delay behavior? Peace.
  2. In the US the warranty is 3yr/36000 miles bumper to bumper, 5yr/100000 miles for powertrain. The lifetime warranty with $100 deductible can be purchased for about $2900 USD. I got the lifetime. Since I did, Murphy says I'll never need it. I'm fine with that though. Peace.
  3. Is the the same update that was released on the internet maybe 2 yrs ago that allowed iPod playlists? Or is this one new and offering some necessary software updates? Peace.
  4. I know people are far apart. I get it. Too bad this may not work for our DJ group. DJs are not chargers or challengers. I know. Not classic Mopar. I think some hot dogs and show-n-tell may be fun. And contagious. In my opinion, DJs are still just as cool as chargers. Peace.
  5. What the heck? I went through the same thing. I find it hard to believe that the dealerships can't get this right. I lost track now, but I was told multiple times that my DRLs couldn't be activated. Then Journeyman did it no problem. From another state!!! Love them now. Love that I can control them from the touchscreen. Best of luck to all those having problems. Peace.
  6. There have been a few with blackouts, but very intermittent. Certainly not a common theme on this forum. Mind did blackout once soon after I got it. A restart corrected it. Has never happened since. Best of luck with whatever you decide on. Peace.
  7. There may be a TSB for your no sound condition. I don't have it in front of me. I can post it if necessary. Check with your service folks. They can run your VIN. Peace.
  8. Why not just run it in manual mode? If I need to get off the line quick, I just drop it into manual mode and it will still automatically shift at 6000+ rpms. Also the manual mode is great for those 60-100mph efforts. Peace.
  9. I'm glad I don't care about VR. If I did, I'd be pretty P O'd. My VR is craptacular on a good day. My phone VR is great, thankfully because I use that all the time. Love it. Peace.
  10. I do love Bananarama, but being an 80s metal guy, I gotta give the nod to Party All Day by Steel Panther. Usually, by the end of the song I've been doing over 100 mph for at least 2 miles. Peace.
  11. Sounds like a lot of cool mods. Please post some pics when you have it completed. Welcome to the forum. Peace.
  12. Thank you Journeyman. You rock. I have had the fuel station routing problem through my Sirius Travel Link all this time. Is this the problem that the TSB will address? Never thought to bring it up to my service folks, I just thought the gas stations moved or changed names or something. Glad they came out with this TSB. Even if I did mention the problem, the service tech would not have had any way to address this problem until last month anyway. The last place you want to be is lost when you need gas!! Peace.
  13. I do not use the EVIC display for navigation. It is simply too slow. Whenever I need good solid directions in a place that is unfamiliar, I switch to the Nav screen on the 8.4. If I am navigating a place that I am relatively familiar, I sometimes rely on the voice only. I just upgraded to the 2014 maps which seem better. Not sure if that would have any effect on the EVIC. Doubt it. Haven't tried it. Peace.
  14. Are there any updates? I don't know that I've had any software updates for my uconnect besides the iPod playlist update that could be downloaded from the Chrysler site. Peace.
  15. Great review mohare. I really don't know anything about car stereos, but, to me, the alpine system in my DJ sounds great. Its not the loudest system, but it sounds really good to me. A buddy of mine bought a new car and ripped it all the way down to bare metal and added GT mat to the whole car in order to install a 6" touchscreen system with all new speakers and a subwoofer. He spent nearly $2000 not including hours of labor and it doesn't sound as good as the alpine in my DJ, to me. It is louder though. He also had to spend more than I did for my V6 pentastar DJ for a vehicle with a weak 4 cylinder. He He. LoL. Peace.
  16. Here is the one that worked for me. I see now that you have a 2010. Not sure if this will apply to your vehicle. Symptoms seem the same though. Best of Luck. NUMBER: 08-023-11 REV. 17. I get it. Its just a suggestion, but really?!? A Hemi? Torque steer would be horrendous. And, why not save some money, buy a Hemi Durango, and go on a 2 week cruise with the money you saved? I like the DJ more than the Durango, but a Hemi Durango and a 2 week cruise is cooler. LoL. Peace.
  18. Not me. I have forgetten to lock my DJ, though. Give it a month, be absolutely sure that you locked your DJ. If it doesn't happen again for a month, write it off as you forgot. We've all done it. If it does happen, you need to figure out how to demonstrate the problem to the dealer as they will probably have no idea how to replicate the problem. Good Luck. Peace.
  19. I live in New Mexico. Like I suggested in another thread, maybe Detroit Michigan. BUT, I love the Las Vegas idea. There are plenty of cool drives we could do as a group near Vegas, and, well, it's Vegas. . . I really like the SEMA car show idea as I think car shows are the coolest. Vegas has something for everyone, from kids to wives. A cool meet up spot before a group drive could be here: http://johnmullsmeats.com/road-kill-grill Then we could all go to the SEMA car show, if it is open to the public. Not sure it is. Maybe someone on the forum could arrange a group registration. Not sure how it all works. IMHO, I really think someone who is a good organizer (not me) needs to commandeer the event, we need to have a solid plan, and some form of registration so we know who's in. I'd hate to see an event get planned and very few show up. I think the SEMA event could be a draw if we can somehow get registered. Peace.
  20. I say we meet in Detroit Michigan. Timing and scheduling is key for everyone certainly. Anyone on this forum from Michigan and willing to set it up? Sounds fun to me. Warm season preferred. Maybe a DJ tailgate at a Tigers game? Beer n ribs anyone? Peace.
  21. Even though my kumhos are doing pretty good still, I have been looking at replacements. I saw a 245/50/19 from a few different manufacturers on tire rack. That size is almost dead on for diameter and speedometer calibration. Not sure if the 245 width would result in any rubbing in the wheel wells. Peace.
  22. @Lobitz68 I am not car stereo savvy at all. How would I know if my DJ has third row speaker wires? I have a 2011 R/T (US version). Can I check the build sheet or window sticker? I have the RB5 with satellite and Nav. I would be interested in mounting some speakers in the back if the wires are already there. Nice to see a fellow connoisseur. I love my smoker and my mash tun! Nothing better than a rack of cherry smoked ribs with a pint of home brewed porter or IPA to wash it all down. Peace.
  23. That was what I meant. Sounds like you are already driving to maximize fuel economy. Peace.
  24. So, let me get this straight. You're happy with the highway efficiency, but unhappy with the city efficiency. Have you considered your driving style? If you are heavy on the accelator and brakes, that is no good for fuel efficiency. Good highway economy indicates that the engine can run efficiently. If you have not done so already, try one tank with the fuel efficiency meter in the evic and follow it to a tee. If you can obtain good efficiency, then the DJ is not to blame. It's likely driving style. Just a suggestion. Peace.
