  1. Right. Playing a DVD while driving is a bad idea. That's my 5 cents. Peace.
  2. Left it in the garage so it didn't get dirty ;-) Peace.
  3. 31,000 and change on my 2011. Drives like the day I picked it up from the dealer still. I had the cam phaser problem, but I can't tell any difference. Peace.
  4. The "free" way is outlined in the OP. It works on 11s and 12s, I think. Dodge engineers corrected the loophole after 2012. Peace.
  5. Right around 5500 for me. I changed my oil at 1000 miles the first time. Then again at 55ish when the reminder illuminated. Peace.
  6. Just turned 31,000 miles. They have been rotated twice. At least 40-50% of the tread is left. Smooth. Quiet. No complaints here. At least on my ride. Peace.
  7. I'd say that is very difficult to judge collisions. How things collide makes a huge difference. All suspension systems have weaknesses. Get it fixed at the dealer, and there is a very good chance you'll never have this problem again; collisions or not. Good Luck. Peace.
  8. Right. Whether or not the items that failed or were damaged were wear items should not matter. The problem was caused by a failure of a warrantied part. That's the good faith concept that seems to be lost nowadays. Anyway, that's just my opinion. Dodge has a company to run and there are certainly customers willing to pay for "usage". So. . . Peace.
  9. I think I have to agree with A2D here. The calipers (a warrantied part) failed causing near failure of other parts to the point that those parts need to be replaced. Dodge should be on the hook for both. Here's another scenario: What if an electrical problem caused by a faulty wire causes a short and results in the failure of your battery and BCM? Should Dodge replace that wire and leave the customer on the hook for the expensive battery and BCM? The obvious answer is No. Same exact rules apply here. The implication of a warranty, IMO, is that Dodge is confident that few problems will occur and is good to remedy those problems in their entirety. Now Chrysler's lawyers may correct my last phrase by saying to the extent of the warranty. And, while it my be legal, that defies the good faith of Dodge's warranty, IMO. This is why we spend b'zillions of dollars in legal fights. Stupid. Dodge just needs to man up. If Dodge would just honor the good faith of their warranty, the dealer would not have been allowed to charge Rebus a single dime for this problem. Just one other comment here. Chrysler/Dodge and all car companies use the in their entirety implication of their warranty to sell cars. I'm sure there are no car manufactures coaching their salespeople to say that the warranty is good to fix most of any given problem after they purchase a vehicle. Lawyers and legal language have made warranties a sort of bait and switch. Peace.
  10. 2011 DJ. Bought off the lot in June 2011. April build date. Cam phasers and cruise control/sccm have been my only problems. Peace.
  11. Strange. My RAZR pairs fine with contacts. The other thing to do in lieu of having contacts is use the recent calls screen for dialing. Not sure if the VR will recognize the recent calls or not. I would un-pair the RAZR and attempt a re-pair of the phone. Peace.
  12. Ok, I get what you are saying. The freedom to install aftermarket components makes sense. I just can't understand all the work to obtain and install the OEM components in the second generation DJ when they are available for a comparable cost (without any labor) via trade. And you get a warranty! Electronic units are finicky no matter what. I guess some folks just like to tinker. I get that, but it seems to me that a tinkerer would rather end up with some AV configuration that is completely custom, not exactly the same as OEM. I understand that the level of integration of our second generation DJ does not really allow customization. I wasn't trying to hijack the thread away from those working on their projects. Best of luck to all those working on upgrading. Peace.
  13. My 2011 sunglass holder broke when I first got the DJ. Some little plastic piece that holds it closed broke. It was replaced under warranty. No problems since, but I am very careful with it because it is all plastic. Peace.
  14. If the vibration changes with different gears, it may be transmission. If the vibration is just related to speed, it may be driveline/driveshaft issues. Change gears when the vibration is occurring to see if there is any change. You need to try as many dealers as possible. Based on your history, I don't think the problem is tire related. Just my feeling. . . Also have the dealer check the.motor mounts. Good luck. Peace.
  15. Could be. My work computed connection omits some images. Try at home. Peace.
  16. http://www.allpar.com/news/index.php/2013/10/first-shot-of-the-next-journey Peace.
  17. New Mexico. USA. Happy government shutdown. I'm embarrassed. Hope this nonsense ends soon. Peace.
  18. The culture here is one where helpful folks help to solve problems and give advice. Not all journeys have the same problems. If you need some help, you'll be able to find it here. If you don't, well I guess it would be a waste of time. All car manufacturers have service departments, and they are all full of problems being addressed. Your original message implied that journeys have more problems. They do not. Good luck to you. Peace.
  19. Update " Home" command does not work. Had an episode of blank Navy screen. Restart restored Nav but no map. Restart again restored maps. No probs since. Weird. Peace.
  20. Tried the zoom command. Doesn't seem to work. Forgot about the "home" command. I'll try it when I remember. I have a feeling it will not work either. BTW, my iPod commands do not work. Had the VC TSB. Satellite and radio stations will change via voice now but nothing else. At least my phone commands work. Peace.
  21. Thanks. I will try that. Those commands will be helpful. The 2014 has a "find" command that can be used while in motion, I believe. Still hoping it is possible to upgrade the software. My gut feeling is that it is not possible. Peace.
  22. It is my understanding that voice command for navigation is available for the 2014 models. Does anyone here have that functionality? If so, does it work well? I would love to have that in my R/T. I have the RB5 radio with Nav, BT, Voice Command, and Satellite Radio in my 2011 so I should have all the basic hardware if nothing has changed except the software. I wonder if I could update to the same software as the 2014 with the voice command navigation functionality? Anyone have an idea? Peace.
  23. I have seen one in person. The blacktop accents look good. The one I saw was a 4 cylinder. Somehow that just doesn't work. If a car looks fast, it should be able to back it up. It is only available on the SXT model which is available with the 4 or Pentastar. Get the Pentastar. Anyway, that's just my opinion. If you like the black accents, you'll like the blacktop versions of the Dodge vehicles, I think. Peace.
