More history. More of your observations. What has been added that was not original? What radio did you have? What radio do you have now? What has been checked? What has the dealer told you? What do you think the problem is? Any theory why the dealer has not fixed the problem. Have you demonstrated the problem to the dealer and they still don't or can't fix it? What did the dealer say when you told them you think your vehicle needs a microphone? Have you tried more than one dealer? Anything else important. Peace.

Yes, I really hate the look of those faded plastics. Luckily, our DJs do not have much in the way of black plastic. Some cars are loaded with them in various shades. They look terrible within a few years if the vehicle sits in the sun. I would be interested to know you experience with the wipe new stuff. Peace.

There are lots of knowledgeable helpful folks here. More info may get you more responses. Has your dealer checked your microphone? Peace.

Interesting. Never thought about that. Makes perfect sense. I usually reset occasionally anyway, though. Peace.

Thanks! Looks great in person. Billet technology supplied the cap kit. Insulation logo from Jina SSE. T shifter is Mopar. Peace.

Oil change Synthetic or regular oil?
redtomatoman replied to Maverick24's topic in Maintenance & D.Y.I.
I use dino. Change every 5K miles. Dodge recommends 5-30. I can't get too happy about motor oil, but I have been happy with my fuel economy. Either syn or dino will be, IMHO, fine as long as you pay attention. Peace. -
2013 journey alignment problems
redtomatoman replied to wdmartin1's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Same here no alignment since June 2011 when I bought my DJ. In fact, I tried to have it aligned but was told it can't be aligned. At the time I thought they were out of their minds. I'm still not sure, but haven't had any problems. Manual does not mention alignment either. Does anyone know definitively what the front end needs and how often? Where's DodgeCares these days? I know there have been some changes. Chris used to be very responsive. Peace. -
Clicking the vimeo logo at the bottom right will take you to vimeo.com and the video works much better. Some sort of buffering lag if you click the play button in the post. Also, make sure HD is on and the speedo is more clear. Peace.

I was messing around with my go pro camera a few days ago to see how it would film outside the vehicle while driving. I decided to stop to see what my Journey would do from a stop to 60mph. I figured out the time via the video editing software. Right on 8.1 seconds. Only had time for one run as there was a car about a 1/2 mile back. Pretty good for a single run. If I had a few runs and some practice, I feel certain our DJs can do the 0-60 run in the mid 7's. Anyway, here it is. https://vimeo.com/74769350 Peace.

Sorry man. Best of luck with both the body work and the brakes. Please keep us updated. Peace.

I may be interested in retrofitting my 2011, but I'm not exactly sure I understand. How can you be using the 2013 DJ brakes but also using aftermarket parts? Please clarify. . . Peace.

Yay for you. My DJ has been great. Hope yours is the same. Peace.

Sell it. Idiot.

Just got my engine cap kit and insulation logo installed last night. Pics are in my gallery. Check them out. Looks great in person. Pics are a little blurry as the lighting in the garage last night was poor. Now I just have to figure out how to drive with my hood up!!! :shades: Peace.

OK I have some questions. . . A holster? Really? You mean to tell me that you own a gun and you can't figure out how to holster the thing? I think that's the problem with most gun owners, all you guys think about is shooting the damn things. Didn't George Zimmerman teach us anything? You want to own a gun? Fine. Its your right. Leave the gun in a safe place at home sir. Problem solved. You don't need a holster after all. Peace.

Wow. Incredible. The first question I have to ask is did you test drive it? If this was an internet purchase or something, I think you have a good case to say that someone sold you a car that they knew to be defective. This goes without saying, but KEEP ALL DOCUMENTATION. Let's see. . . 35 days of ownership, 26 shop days; that's nearly 75% of the time in the service dept. I think chrysler owes you some rent or compensation for suffering. Hopefully they are at least providing a vehicle for you to drive in the meantime. I believe that the DJ is a great vehicle, but this one has a major malfunction. If I was you, I'd be screaming out loud about a replacement vehicle. While I'm not at all litigious, a lawyer would be on my mind. Read up on your state's lemon laws. I may not even pick the DJ up from the service department until I had a long conversation with the dealership owner and maybe a conference call with chrysler; maybe with my lawyer present. . . You deserve a new DJ while that one should be loaded onto a truck and shipped back to Detroit so chrysler can figure out how that DJ went so wrong. Hopefully DodgeCares is involved in this case. . . Best of luck to you sir. Peace.

Deep Tint Sunscreen Glass
redtomatoman replied to lnghrn67's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
Sounds the same as my R/T. Front glass has a light tint while the second, third, and rear glass is tinted much darker. Peace.
