  1. I made a cargo rack for less than $30. If you are interested, I can post picks. Parts can be found at any Walmart. The only thing you need is factory rack attachments (Yakima,Thule,Mopar, etc). Mine are Yakima, so I got them at a Yakima dealer. It is just a rack, not a box. Peace.
  2. Door dings make me crazy. A parking lot hit & run would make me homicidal! I have my '91 Dakota for around town stuff and work. My DJ is for road trips only. She spends a lot of time safe in the garage. Freeway driving and kicked up rocks definifely add dings to the front, though. Takin' her to Las Vegas this weekend. Valet parking. It makes me feel better than self parking, at least. Sorry about your DJ, man. I know how you feel. Peace.
  3. Thanks guys. I will try again at my next maintenance visit. What is all this about units? I certainly don't want the tech to get the DRLs to work and reset the units. Or worse, reset the units then tell me the DRLs wont work. I'll let you know how I do. Peace.
  4. If this is true, why didn't DodgeCares or my dealer or STAR or anyone in this forum know about this? I tried like heck in 2011-2012 to get my DRLs activated at two different dealers. I even PM'd DodgeCares personally and I currently have no DRLs. Everyone told me my DJ does not have the correct hardware. Even DodgeCares after running my vin. There is truly some confusion on this issue. I'll try again. Is there some financial reason a dealer would not want to activate the DRLs? Peace.
  5. Oh, its more than a "trick". Lowering the windows at 100 yards let's out lots of heat by the time you reach your DJ. Opening the sunroof is better, but you have to be in the oven to do that. Still not sure why Dodge discontinued that feature. Peace.
  6. Not sure why. Cool feature. Use it whenever I'm in Phoenix. Silly. Peace.
  7. Really!?! That is as crazy as not including DRLs in all Journeys. Uconnect has the option to turn them off. Weird. The window/fob feature seems like a basic one to me. Peace.
  8. Welcome. I think you'll find the forum helpful. I sure have. Peace.
  9. It's the unlock button right? Haven't done it recently but that what I recall. Press the unlock button twice and hold. Peace.
  10. My 2011 has the rear hatch button too. Forgot as I have only used it a few times. Peace.
  11. I forget honestly, but I think you can set your DJ to unlock all doors when you touch the front doors. Then all you have to do is touch one of the front doors before accessing the rear hatch. Then you don't need any new sensors or wiring. I know this was not your question, but it would be an adequate way to gain access to the rear hatch if your fob was not handy to press the button. Peace.
  12. I had this problem. They replaced them and mine is good as new. I never had the check engine light. The dealer discovered it on a routine maintenance visit. Make sure you have your dealer put a good tech on the job. They have to crack the engine open to replace the cam phasers. Anyway, I was pretty bent out of shape over it. I only had 10K miles on mine when I had it done. Worked out ok. Hope yours is the same. Good Luck. Make sure your dealer puts a good tech on the job. . . Peace.
  13. Although I haven't done it. I did a lot of looking around. I think many different systems can be made to fit. Airaid, K&N, volant, etc. I think the mopar CAI will fit with some minor modification. To my eyes, the jeep wrangler version of the mopar CAI looks like it will fit nearly perfectly. I suggest you have your dealer install it. There is a mopar part number for a CAI DJ application although there has been some discussion on this site as to what that means. Anyway, I would go there first if you are at all worried about warranty snags in the future. The reason I finally decided against it was the change in engine noise. I just couldn't bring myself to do it as our DJs are so damn quiet. And, I have my doubts that the HP increase would justify more noise. I think the gains will be fairly small. It would look cool when you pop the hood though. Good Luck. Peace.
  14. !Bienvenidos! Me encanta mi R/T. Paz.
  15. Agreed. But my DJ should never have had a chance. My point is not that our DJs are fast, my point is that our DJs are fast enough to beat a cut rate V6 economy challenger (possibly with a gutless driver behind the wheel). The guy did try though, we hit 100mph on the second stretch. If you have a muscle car, go big or go home, IMHO. Anyway, a non-story really. I just thought it was funny. Peace.
  16. I have a firm belief that if one owns a muscle or sports car, go all out or go ahead and get the Prius. If you want a challenger or charger, get the hemi. If you like 'stangs, get the GT or cobra. If you're a camaro man, go SS. Anyway, I decided to see what a V6 challenger could do off the line. My DJ had two passengers, two mountain bikes on the roof and a bunch of gear in the rear area. I was faster twice! The second time we had open road and the other driver tried to reel me in. Nope. Finally he hit the brakes and bailed. Ha Ha. Challenger beaten handily by a DJ! That's why nobody should get an economy muscle car. Laughing out LOUD. Peace.
  17. Whoa. Either this guy's English is horrible or his typos are way too common. Not sure which. The post really makes no sense. Brakes seized at 5 minutes or 5 months? Whatever. Who rolls down their windows while passing anyway? Peace.
  18. If you get the 6, you'll be glad you did. I think most of the initial cost is tied up in options. If cost and the engine decision are most important, go with the lowest optioned 6 and cost difference will be minimal. Ultimately, you have to decide. I have the R/T and far and away, the best aspect of my DJ is the Pentastar V6. Fun as $#!7. Safe for passing. Peace.
  19. Probably requires a newer trade in. If not, there's likely some other bait n switch involved. Good luck. Peace.
  20. I would go new. The 2013 has the bigger better brakes. Aftermarket options would be the same for the 2011 and 2013. Good luck. Congrats. Love my DJ. Peace.
  21. Yes. Bigger brakes mid-run on the 2012s. Peace.
  22. I'd go with aftermarket ceramic. I may be wrong, but I do not believe that the Chrysler pads are ceramic. Good luck. Peace.
  23. 2011 R/Ts are bad a$$ ! ! The 2011 uconnect is finicky though. I have certainly heard of some connectivity issues. Both my original droid and my RAZR connected fine, but that has not been everyone's experience. Good luck. Peace.
  24. I just got my 2 year maintenance completed on my 2011 and all was fine. Even my pads and rotors. Subsequently, I was looking through the maintenance schedule in my owners manual and I noticed that nowhere is it recommended to do an alignment. Rotations are certainly recommended, but not alignments. Anyone know why? Just wondering. Peace.
  25. The brake upgrade began mid 2012. That's my understanding anyway. My 2011s are the smaller variety. They have held up fine for me. Peace.
