  1. As far as the audio, there have been quite a few issues with the amplifier. The actual radio unit may be the problem as well. I'd make the dealer sort that one out. Phone compatibility issues are common. Some phones do this while others don't do that. My advice is figure out what your phone is compatible with and use those functions. I use my iPod for music. Seems like our DJs like to be somewhat appleified. Good luck. Peace.
  2. Talk to your dealer. I think eBay fobs can be had for relatively cheap and your dealer, or you, can program them. Buy two if you get a good deal. Hopefully others with more knowledge about fobs will chime in here. Peace.
  3. I'm surprised by those numbers. On my last tank (80% highway 20% city), my 3.6 averaged 23.8 mpg US. Could it be your engines are not broken in? Mine did much better after about 8000 miles. Dunno. Peace.
  4. Both remotes? If so, a trip to the service department may be in order. If not, maybe a replacement fob. Peace.
  5. I think those lights and the mount are bad ass! I love that you can remove them. Great job. Peace.
  6. Throttle nurses are $60 cheaper than a k&n filter. And they never need oil. . . Peace.
  7. Faster pop sound when moving faster? What did the dealer do? Sounds like a CV joint or something related to a CV joint. I'm certainly not a mechanic, but that's my 2 cents. Peace.
  8. Yes, this does seem to be a common issue. Like drb, I believe my 2011 DJ has an inacurate fuel gauge. I have not had the fix applied for fear that it may make the problem worse. Sounds like drb has had that occur. I suspect that we all have the same issue, but we are all calling it something different. I just hope the problem can be correctly identified so a unified solution can be applied if we do, indeed, have the same issue with our gauges and fuel consumption. I also believe that there is a tank inlet issue that causes the pump to click off before that tank is actually full. That always happens to me and I end up clicking the last 1.5 to 2 US gallons into the tank to get it full. The gauge issue I can live with. The inadequate filler tube is just plain stupid. Dodge should replace these or at least offer us a deal on replacement. Peace.
  9. Mine on my 2011 19s have been fine. 23k miles and still look very good. Peace.
  10. Well, I don't think any sunroof leaks are normal nor should they be allowed to leak over the long term. Water is sneaky and can be doing damage even if you don't see any water inside the vehicle. There are a number of different scenarios that are possible: 1. Does it leak when it rains? The problem may only be in automatic car washes where the water pressure is higher than rain, for instance. It might be ok. 2. Was there a time when it did not leak in the automatic carwash? The dealer could be incorrect, it can be fixed, but doesn't want to fix it. 3. Has it been getting worse? The problem may or may not get worse. The issue with water is that it can go anywhere. Like I said above, even if you don't see it, the water may be doing damage somewhere not visible. If I was you, it is scenario number 3 that would bother me. I'd involve chrysler customer care and attempt to find another dealer willing to help you with your problem. Maybe they will all tell you the same thing, dunno. I'm sorry you're having this problem, I'd work to either find a dealer to fix it or, if all else fails, get in there and figure out a way to seal it yourself. Leaks suck, and I, personally, would not let it continue if its possible to fix it somehow. My experience with sunroofs is this. My wife has one on her saturn vue (it doesn't leak yet), but we rarely open it as it is invariably either too hot with the sun blaring down on us or too cold if the ambient temp outside is cold. I'm really not a fan of them. And the possibility of a leak is ever present. I specifically did not get the sunroof on my DJ because of this. Anyway, not trying to rub your nose in it, that's just my opinion. Many folks love their sunroof. Good Luck. Peace.
  11. At least I'm not crazy. I plan to have this looked at when I get my next oil change. I'll post if they find anything. I'm honestly hoping it gets worse so they can figure out what it is and fix it. Right now its kind of intermittent. Peace.
  12. Firstly, figure out what your legal rights are. Contact your friend at Chrysler. Camp out at the dealer. Or some combination of the two. I would personally try to get rid of that vehicle if you are legally entitled. If not, I would certainly take your DJ to another dealer and call Chrysler customer care. Your dealer or another dealer are ultimately the only ones who can help you, I think. Good luck.
  13. Having the V6 now, the thought of the 4 cylinder is two steps backwards. Used is always a gamble because of the unknown history. I think you're right, though. If it made it to 30k without problems, then its probably good. Go with the V6. Your first downshift and pass will make it all worth it. Good luck. Peace.
  14. Fuel gauge goes to E too quickly. The whole gas gauge/ filling issue is my only real gripe with my 2011 DJ. Peace.
  15. You should try replacing the batteries, certainly. Hope that works to solve your problems. If not you may have a larger system problem that needs to be addressed by your dealer. If the DJ is new to you with less than 30 days of ownership, the dealer should be willing to work with you and service for a reduced price or free of charge. Best of luck. Peace.
  16. Like I posted earlier, one of my fuel problems is the gauge registering on E too soon. The other annoyance (can't call it a problem per se) is that the gas pumps click off too soon when filling. I commonly spend upwards of 5 minutes repeatedly clicking the pump while I get another 1-2 US gallons in the tank. Freakin' annoying! I wish Dodge would design a TSB that addresses these two problems. Peace.
  17. Wow, impressive project. Clean installation with wires hidden. Looks great. Enjoy! Peace.
  18. If someone in Idaho doesn't know what a journey is, that's understandable. That's truck country. There are more and more here in the US. I see lots in the southwest. We here in NM don't really know what a potato looks like either. Peace.
  19. Huh. Not sure I have this delay in my 2011. I barked a Toyota Sequoia out of my lane just last night. I don't remember a delay. Honestly. Maybe there is one, but I don't recall it. I'm not a New Yorker who is always on the horn. Peace.
  20. How about approaching the parents? At least split the bill. I don't know the situation, but I've never wrapped a seat belt around my head. Even as a kid. The situation sounds odd. If it was a true safety situation and somehow the seat belt design was the cause, I think Chrysler may be helpful. If not, well. . . Dunno. Peace.
  21. My noise is definitely from the back. It is intermittent and only with side to side sway. Checked my tire jack and such, BTW. All seemed tight to me. I am going to have the dealer check my suspension at my next oil change. Peace.
  22. Hmmm. . . Hadn't thought of that. I'll look at them to make sure they are secure. Thanks DodgeCares.
  23. @DodgeCares Hi Chris. Would you be willing to speak with the engineers or someone at Dodge to get us a definitive answer on the texting issue? Does it work for any DJs? Not sure if the function is available for my 2011, but something that is in my 2011 manual should show up by 2013, right? Can owners utilize the function while driving? When I spoke with the Chrysler help folks, all I was told is that it apparently does not work with my phone, but they offered no solutions, i.e. which phones do work. I personally have not heard of any phones for which the text function works. Can you ask the engineers which phones they know of that allow text over uconnect in the DJ. Maybe owners need an updated phone list. Thanks for your help. Peace.
  24. Hi All- I have had a strange intermittent noise coming from what I believe is the rear suspension in my 2011 DJ almost since it was new. Sort of a cross between a squeak and a rattle. When I bought my R/T it did not come with roof rails, so I have those installed and subsequently put yakima racks on those. The noise in question was most frequent when I had my bicycles on the roof so I attributed it to the rails. But I have been hearing that same noise more frequently now and without bikes on the roof. The noise seems to happen whenever the road conditions cause any side to side sway of the DJ suspension. Maybe the reason I hear the noise more frequently with bikes on the roof is because the bicycles cause increased sway as they add weight to the top of the vehicle and move the center of gravity up slightly. Anyone else have something similar? Planning to take it to the dealer, but I like to have an idea what a problem could be before I go. BTW, the DJ seems to drive and track perfectly, it is just the noise that I hear. And the noise seems to be unrelated to bumps hit at a right angle on both wheels. TIA. Peace.
