  1. I would return this DJ. I have 80K miles on my 2011. These are great cars. Sounds like the one you have has been abused or damaged in some way. Good luck. Peace.
  2. The temperature is set mostly by the thermostat, I think... Peace.
  3. I think mine was running at 188F today, if I remember correctly. Gauge right in the middle. I believe that's normal. Peace.
  4. I want to preface... I'm not a mechanic. Why not just replace those wires rather than using the repaired ones? Eliminate the easy stuff. At least you'll know for sure if they are the problem. Maybe there is some sort of damage that you can't see, but acts up when hot after a restart. It seems to me that these new cars have tons of sensors and who knows when those sensors talk to the ECM. Maybe a hot restart alerts the computer to a problem, and it goes into limp mode. Clearly I don't know what your problem is. Just trying to help. Peace.
  5. As long as its cooled down and it still has coolant, just start it up in the morning and drive straight the mechanic shop. I think you'll likely be fine. BUT, check the oil to make sure it isn't light brown and frothy, coolant in your oil can mean head gasket failure. I wouldn't want to run the engine in that condition. If that's the case, you may want to get a tow. Hopefully others will chime in. I'm not a mechanic. Good luck. Peace.
  6. Try a little de-icer or oil on the moving part of the wiper motor. Maybe it is as simple as moisture freezing the motor in place. I tried to look at my DJ, but I can't really see where the motor is because it's under the cowl. I think it's the center (passenger) wiper. Dunno. Something to try. This problem may take some diagnosis in cold weather by unhooking the wiper assembly to see if the cold motor turns or if something in the assembly is the problem. Good luck. Peace.
  7. Merry Christmas to all. So glad the days are getting longer now. Can't wait for summer! Peace.
  8. Leave the chip out. Drive it for a few days and do a hard battery disconnect reset again. No disrespect, but the 2.4 has no hidden performance. The chip isn't going to unleash anything positive. It probably will continue to unleash more lights, problems, and gremlins. My advice is to leave the chip out permanently.
  9. So, just to clarify... Clearing your bluetooth cache and reconnecting your phone allows song info to be transferred via bluetooth? My 2011 8.4N has never transferred song info via BT that I am aware of. I'd like to get that info if possible. Peace.
  10. No. Mine does not make any noise. I suspect you are correct on the CV joints. Have them checked. Good luck. Peace.
  11. As was mentioned by NavalLacrosse, scratching is the main concern. Another concern is the frequency and potency of detergents that your paint will be exposed to. Even if you wash weekly, that's 52 washes a year. That's a lot! Monthly washes should be sufficient, imo. If you're concerned about salt, get an undercarriage wash every few days, a monthly wash, and call it good. I'd up the waxing schedule to every 2 months if you are constantly washing the car in this program. Peace.
  12. If its under warranty, see a trusted dodge service center... Hopefully it is, let them replace until your problem is fixed. If not, maybe some videos would help the forum members get an idea about what's going on. Peace.
  13. So this happened once? Or lots of times? It won't start at all? Or there is a significant delay and you have to attempt starting the DJ multiple times? I think we need more info... My DJ will sometimes have a stiff brake pedal as it's not my daily driver, but I just push harder and it has starts just fine. As soon as it starts, the pedal lowers and feels just fine. A hard brake pedal has not been an issue that I've seen on this forum. Peace.
  14. ^^^ this. I have had very few probs with my 2011, but recently I had a total transmission failure. I had a check engine light and no other symptoms that I could tell. Dunno. Get it checked if you think the tranny may be the culprit here... Peace.

    Newbie

Welcome. Lots of good info here. My 2011 is still going, and, despite some unfortunate problems that have been fixed, it still runs like the day I brought it home. 77,000+ miles. Peace.
  16. Thanks for the correction. I use my iPod so I'm not familiar with other usb drives. My iPod works well for me. Peace.
  17. eBay. The older ones are cheap. Of course, do what you prefer, but time is money, and the time spent monkeying around with this will likely pay for a used iPod. Peace.
  18. It needs to be 32 gigs max, I think. Fat32 format. My advice if you want to use the usb port is to pick up an iPod. They're cheap, they work well, and you're only limited by the size of the iPod. You'll also have playlist functionality. Good luck. Search this site. This has been discussed. Peace.
  19. I am unaware of anything that will legitimately increase performance. Most people's knee jerk response is a cold air intake, but it already has one stock. I don't think there are any tuning options either. It has plenty of power already, imo. A set of performance tires may be a good start... good luck Peace.
  20. Impressive. Looks great! Apple play and android auto? That's the one thing our DJs are sadly missing. Peace.
  21. Ah, I see the attachments on this post. Don't know what part that is. Another thought is to check the rest of your exhaust system when you check the catalytic converter. Peace.
  22. There are some kits out there to lower a DJ. It's pretty good as it is, IMO. If you lower it, you definitely need some larger wheels and lower profile tires to make it pop. Post your pics when you're done. Peace.
