  1. I have a 2011 DJ R/T. It has been a great vehicle. Had the cylinder 2 head issue. Chrysler fixed it without issue in 2011. My DJ still runs as smooth as the day I brought it home after 80k miles. The 3.6 is a great engine. The transmission does shudder occasionally, but that is a characteristic not a problem in my experience. I replaced my brake rotors and pads, as warping rotors was a problem. No problems with brakes or braking power with new rotors and pads. That brake issue was corrected by Chrysler in the 2012.5 models. I don't believe the DJ uconnect is plagued by more electrical/tech issues than any other vehicle. Vehicles have lots of tech nowadays. There are some uconnect gremlins. Mine have been very minor. The rear suspension bushings on my DJ squeak occasionally. The suspension works fine. Some may say this is a problem. Honestly, the only "problem" that I have currently is a rattle that I get at speed on the passenger side of the windshield. Minor. It pulls at my OCD strings, though. I can't track it down. I love the utility of the DJ without being a huge vehicle. The floor storage bins are awesome, the cargo area is pretty large even with the third row up. I must admit, my third row has never seen the light of day as I carry lots of gear. I got 27.3 mpg on my most recent trip at approx 65 mph through the mountains of Colorado. My DJ will usually get 22-26 mpg at 75-80 mph depending on the winds. My DJ does not like headwinds. I usually have bikes or boards on the roof which affects gas mileage. The 3.6 has plenty of passing power. The manual mode shifting makes downshifting for power easy. I'm sure I forgot some stuff. . . That's my honest opinion and experience. Peace.
  2. I have noticed some odd ring behavior from my 2011. Since my DJ is older, the uconnect software may be different on this issue. Sometimes my uconnect will play the actual ringtone. With other ringtones, it will ring with the factory uconnect tone. I have not played with this. Long story short, I support trying another ringtone. Peace.
  3. I think I know the answer to this question, but why not ask? By now there is a wealth of information and knowledge about our DJs out there. My wife just bought a compass trailhawk with the android auto feature. I love it. So much better than the functionality of the uconnect. Is there any way (dealer or aftermarket) to upgrade the uconnect of my 2011 to be able to be compatible android auto? Peace.
  4. Very Nice! Hope you love it as much as I love my R/T. Take care of it, and it will take care of you. Get the extended warranty for the electronics. A little pricey on the front end, but totally worth it. Peace.
  5. Cross bars are a must, imo. Get what you want, but the only thing I'll throw out there as a reminder is locks. Think about the ability to lock your cargo for restaurants, hikes, motels, etc. Yakima and Thule are great. Probably compatible with factory cross bars. Everything gets stolen nowadays. Peace.
  6. Yawn. . . I agree, Dodge did it right name. I no have issue in my vehicle. I think you forgot to mentions any of your issues. People on this forum are here to help. What are your issues, exactly? Peace.
  7. Just reread your post. Didn't see the reverse light not working. Dunno. Check other DJ when you're on the road to see what their light do. Peace.
  8. I may be wrong. Too lazy to go out to the garage and check, but I don't believe that those lights come on with the headlights. I think those are brake lights only. Others will chime in if I am incorrect. Peace.
  9. I do. They look good. I got them in 2011 when my DJ was new. I don't remember which one I got because I made the dealer throw them in for free. I will say this. . . When I got it home I decided that the black parking brake pedal needed a bright top. Had to modify a challenger clutch cover for that. Overall, looks good. Really sports up the cockpit. I think the Mopar T shifter makes a big difference too. Looks fast. . . Peace.
  10. Buy the parts. . . It'll be awesome when you're done.
  11. They don't call them electrical gremlins for nothing. All new cars are full of potential gremlins with the modern electronics. Electronics are great until they're not. Chasing them is a headache. I hope you find a solution as these journeys are great little vehicles when they're not haunted by gremlins. Who knows what the previous owner did to the vehicle before you got it. The dealer may be better able to diagnose your problem than anyone. . . Good luck. Peace.
  12. I would do everything I could to get out of this car. I've had mine for 6+ year's without probs. This one sounds like a lemon. Good luck. Peace.
  13. Maybe this is redundant for this thread, but just for clarity. Adjust your volume while the Nav voice is speaking and the Nav volume will stay at that level. I don't remember exactly, but the radio volume will decrease by some amount when the Nav voice is speaking, I think it does matter how loud your volume was set before the Nav voice began speaking. But. . . The trick is to adjust the Nav volume when the Nav voice is speaking and it will stay set at that volume until you adjust it again. Peace.
  14. Sell the DJ. Buy a good condition srt4 caliber and call it good. Not sure what you think a DJ offers that caliber does not. good luck. peace.
  15. Have you had someone push from the outside while you attempt to turn the white plastic screw? Maybe the latch is in a weird position and the plastic screw will not turn without some external pressure. Good Luck. Peace.
  16. 1000 miles for my DJ. My 2011 has 70k miles and still runs like new. First oil change is important to get the engine started right. That's my opinion. Peace.
  17. Maybe this will be helpful. . . From the 2011 manual: Automatic Door Locks — If Equipped When enabled, the door locks will lock automatically when the vehicle’s speed exceeds 15 mph (24 km/h). The Automatic Door Locks feature can be enabled or disabled by your authorized dealer. See your authorized dealer for programming. Automatic Unlock Doors On Exit The doors will unlock automatically on vehicles with power door locks if: 1. The Automatic Unlock Doors On Exit feature is en- abled. 2. The transmission was in gear and the vehicle speed returned to 0 mph (0 km/h). 3. The transmission is in NEUTRAL or PARK. 4. The driver door is opened. 5. The doors were not previously unlocked. 6. The vehicle speed is 0 mph (0 km/h). To change the current setting, refer to “Uconnect Touch™ Settings” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further information. NOTE: Use the Automatic Unlock Doors On Exit feature in accordance with local laws. Peace.
  18. I believe it's real. If the fob is anywhere in the car, it will run. Can't even lock the car. Not sure where your fob is, but let us know where you find it.
  19. Thanks for the replies. I will check the heat shield and my A.C. hoses. I don't remember seeing clips on my debris shield but I will look again. Peace.
  20. @ OP, more details. . . There are plenty of people who are capable of helping here. Peace.
  21. I have a similar rattle. Maybe the same rattle. Mine originates from the passenger side at the base of the windshield. Only occurs at highway speeds. Changes with side or head winds. Pressure on my dash has no effect. I have looked at the outside mirror, rubber seal trim around the windshield, the plastic in the wheel well, the wipers, and the plastic shield along the base of the the windshield. I have messed with and made changes to these here and there to no avail. I have given up. I would love to rid my DJ of this rattle, though. Any info is welcomed. Peace.
  22. Journeyman to the rescue. Hopefully. . . If anyone can help, you can. Great to see you on the forum. Peace.
  23. You have the option of doing nothing. I have heard of this engine light disappearing. That would not allow me to sleep though. I think you should take it to another dealer, if you have not done so already. It seems to me that you have to get it fixed and then go after Chrysler if they don't cover it. If they don't cover it, that's crap. I agree with bram, they are probably just testing your resolve. Best of luck to you, sir. Peace.
  24. Take it to a different dealer. If it is the P0302 code, Chrysler has extended its engine warranty on the left side cylinder head to 10 years or 150,000 miles. They know about this problem and they should fix it. I had mine done at no cost. I have not heard that there is a model year specification, If another dealer does not fix it, call Chrysler. The exact code will be important if you have to elevate to Chrysler. Good luck. Peace.
