  1. He doesn't either . . . .
  2. So, according to Sylvania the cargo bulb is a 579 bulb and no, they're all the same for all years. $1.80 US for 2 shipped from China to your door on Aliexpress: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/T10-LED-42-SMD-W5W-501-168-White-Car-Side-Wedge-DC-12V-Light-Bulb/32424963095.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.177.tmkmWT&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_9,searchweb201602_5_10036_10035_10034_507_10032_10020_9911_10017_10005_10006_10021_10022_10018_10019,searchweb201603_9&btsid=db4d5dd6-cd18-4eb8-84d6-95095722de44
  3. There's nothing inherently wrong with the 2.4/4 speed. You might have had worse problems with a six. It's the luck of the draw.
  4. If you want to see the window sticker (which gives you a better idea of what the vehicle model is, what OPTIONS you have and what the original price was) use this link and enter the VIN in the appropriate field: http://www.dodge.com/hostc/
  5. And there's no airbag recall for the Journey, which is why I asked.
  6. Weird story. This air bag recall you mention . . . . what vehicle is that for? There is none for the Journey referenced on line.
  7. They all come from the Gracenotes package for some reason - and it hasn't been updated since '11 - and there is no way to update it as far as anyone knows.
  8. If he's got an amp he has a sub . . . . they are both part of the same package.
  9. So this thread has the answer to the question I asked you on the other . . . . . I've PMed you.
  10. Why would they replace the radio on a brand new vehicle? The recall is to check the firmware level and update to the current release if it wasn't already there.
  11. Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your new DJ and yes, I am yet another Kanuk - perhaps the reason there are more Canadians is that we tend to be more connected . . . or just spend more time on line during the long winter months, who knows? I'm not sure I would classify upgrading to the nav radio as an 'attempt' . . . it is simpler to change than a headlight bulb.
  12. I'm going to guess that you didn't bring the vehicle in for the firmware update recall? Where are you located . . . . would it be close to Montreal? If yes, I'd love to be able to get access to your radio before you take it to the dealer to be replaced. I'd also like to know who your dealer is . . . . so I can avoid him.
  13. Correct - since the 300, Charger and Journey all used the same radio (though not this year - the others were redone and got the 'A' variant, we likely have to wait until the new version comes out in 2018).
  14. He's probably got a Limited, as you probably guessed - that's pretty much the same as our FWD Crossroads, but you get heated seats instead of leather and they include the garage door opener.
  15. I presume you are posting because you have no warranty left? If so. you can find a replacement module from a scrap yard. Any year from 2011 onward can serve as the donor vehicle.
  16. If you have premium sound you'll have a sub woofer in back. And you can check the build sheet.
  17. Simple enough to tell - the light on whatever you have plugged in will remain on - and yes, it is always live while the one in the dash is switched.
  18. You'd need to add a sales code and somehow get a relay to switch when the dashboard button is pressed. Be careful not to go for too many watts, especially if you plan to connect it to one of the cigarette circuits.
  19. You've been without BT for more than a year? And what about the poster on this thread who says his HFM cost $376?
  20. It could have been as simple as a bit of dust in the optical encoder that is driven by the tuning knob. As long as it's good now. . . . .
  21. nash211: I responded to your duplicate post in the other thread.
  22. Daniel: FCA extended the warranty? Larryl: Great concept, but that isn't going to happen . . . and if the new firmware really does resolve the problem, it doesn't much matter.
  23. It is (or was, assuming that the latest firmware solves the problem, especially if your vehicle is out of the base warranty term). But the problem is a lot less pervasive than looking at this board would imply - it affected only a tiny percentage of owners - though that 'tiny percentage' actually involves a fairly large number of vehicles in total, and based on what I'm seeing, whatever the trigger is, without the fix those owners are subject to the problem recurring, no doubt helped by the act that the radios that FCA are replacing failed units with ones that have already failed and were simply reloaded, the situation is ripe for those owners' units to fail again. But those are the people that seek out information from sites like this so we tend to see more people with the issue complaining here. And, if/when this problem occurs on a vehicle that is outside of it's basic warranty, it will cost the owner lots of money to repair, which is why I'd like to get hold of a failed unit to try fixing it myself.
  24. Prices for the kit have been going up. Apparently newer DJs don't need the full kit because they are prewired - supposedly mine was built after the 'prewired date' and the pins in the connector had wires attached, but I couldn't find the rear end of the cable if it was, so I did the job (myself) and it wasn't horrible. If your vehicle is wired ad you can find the connector, you can buy the rear bezel, complete with the camera, license plate lights, unlock switch and handle for less than $125. Note that as far as I can tell, Lockpick no longer supports the 4.3 inch screen, though I've read that it does still work with it.
