  1. On my 2011 SXT that connector goes to a switch actuated by the hood , if you look at his video of tracing the wire you can see the cut out for the switch right next to the hood support spring/bumper is empty.
  2. Look here maybe you can sort it out. https://techauthorityonlinedemo.extra.chrysler.com/service/repair/wiring/view/classic.htm

    Hi from NZ

Automotive marketing is really a dark mysterious place , in our market not all 2014 SXTs are awd as a matter of fact the majority I see on the road in the area I live appear to be fwd. I would say that it depends on the NZ franchisee/importer most likely.
  4. Welcome to the forum. It appears you have done your homework with regards to previous posts covering the subject. There are aftermarket options such as buying 8.4 gear from autowreckers or after market suppliers of stand alone backup cameras such as CoastalEtech or http://rear-view-cameras-review.toptenreviews.com/yada-digital-wireless-backup-camera-review.html
  5. I had a Dodge Caliber for 5 yrs and the air path was similar , here's a pic of it I did for a forum.
  6. It's 2009 2.4L 4 cyl so has the TSB covering the wire loom from engine compartment to cabin been done? Although I have no experience with '09 TSB the 2 problems may be inter-connected , check your VIN with dealer or Dodge.com to see if TSB has been done.
  7. By disconnecting the battery you will be doing a system reset. You won't however loose your presets on the radio.
  8. The rubber pieces are in effect air dams that guide the cold air from the hood lead edge to the primary induction opening. If you remove them the air path will be removed and you will be sucking a mixture of cold lead edge and hot engine heat.
  9. Using google for U1148 on DJ it comes back as "SCP (J1850) Invalid or Missing Data for Primary Id " Suggest you find dealer.
  10. Turn the radio on then use the "fader" to output all audio to rear listen to where the sound comes from in the very back.
  11. I believe he is referring to the instrument "cluster". Again this may not be your specific problem it could be the result of a failed switch stalk (actuating lever).
  12. I don't believe you will find an individual fuse for the switch, they don't do that. The tailgate is a dirt magnet could be part of the problem but could also be a broken wire in the cabin to hatch door loom and this been a reported failure in the past.
  13. Mine has done this for the last year. After washing down the wheels you will see a coating of surface rust/oxidation appear on the rotors but it wears off quickly and the noise all but disappears. My DJ is almost 4 years old and has about 8 to 10 K left on the pads so it will be done this summer.
  14. He is in Toronto so snow tires are not a normal thing for most people , now if he lived in Buffalo/Niagara it would be a plus the lake effect off Lake Erie hits.
  15. Have you started using fully synthetic power steering fluid? Some owners that have similar winter temps state this resolved the blown hose problem.
  16. If you want to see the physical guts of the radio system go to Coastaletech website and watch one of their Dodge how to videos.
  17. First thing to try is disconnecting the DJ battery at the negative jumper connection for 10 - 15 minutes , reconnect to see if fault cleared.
  18. There are a number of European owners of both Dodge Journeys(pre-Fiat) and Fiat Fremonts (export models) that have diesel models that frequent this site occasionally so possibly one will answer back.

Started by a local cop (Ron Joyce) and Tim Horton (NHL star) 50 years ago in Hamilton Ontario. It was home grown then went into deal with Wendys eventually full ownership returned to Canadian interests with headoffice in Oakville Ontario. It recently was sold again to the Brazilian holding company that owns the BurgerKing chain. It has over 2200 Tim Horton outlets in North Amaerica and even had one in Afghanistan at the Canadian fire base while we served there. My wife and I are addicted as well and must drop 50 bucks a month at Timmies.
  20. If you've got the bucks to think about it you can probably afford and be ahead trading up to what you want.

  22. What your looking at (black cap) is the access to the emergency release for the PARK solenoid release. If you can not get it out of PARK read the manual.
  23. The hood is aluminum and the hatch is made of composite material the rest is steel including the fenders.
