  1. Sounds like a loose connection, you can do the same thing from steering wheel controls so it could be clockspring or bad connection at the radio black box.
  2. Drove 25 miles this am in 4 inches of fresh nor easter snow with fwd and Michelin Defenders no problem. I have always that the driver is the key to winter driving.
  3. I drove the 2.0L version of the 2.4 for 5 yrs. Exact same motor World Engine with solid lifters and louder than normal fuel injector noise. As far as I was concerned it was was a great little motor.
  4. I would think that unless you're working naked that you must have a pocket to stick just the fob into during the day.
  5. All the "flex fuel" rating means is that you can (if you wish) run regular gas with higher amounts of alcohol blended with it. The fuel system such as lines, seals and other components have an enhanced version installed so they won't fail due to the higher amounts of alcohol used. The majority of DJ owners on this forum use gas with a max of 10% alcohol which the refiners do as a normal blend. In other words don't sweat about the whole FLEX FUEL thing.
  6. That's why I asked about the glove box light as there have been reported incidents of the switch not being actuated properly , possibly door not re-installed properly after cabin filter checked/replaced.
  7. I would get beeps when I got in the DJ and hadn't started it yet. I eventually traced it down to the fact that I was unintentionally hitting the lock button on the door panel when getting in and as soon as I closed the door it would beep.
  8. There are a number of things to look at with regards to battery drain. 1.Do you leave a fob within 6 ft of the vehicle when parked? This keeps the BCM (body control module) constantly active. 2.Check to see if light stays on in glove box due to poor closure. 3.Do you have any aftermarket electrical gear/gadgets installed on the DJ?
  9. I have never checked mine but here is a pic from parts book and it is item 13 appears to exit by gas pedal.
  10. In the past this complaint has usually been found to be the result of a plugged drain on the AC evaporator assy. The water accumulates and spills over when the car is turning and can be the cause of the musty smell when AC or defrost is used.
  11. I honestly don't know but that's what the TIPM does relative to current monitoring.
  12. A spike in the current sensed by the TIPM is a probable cause.
  13. I have always used the mini (1-.5") mini spots on all my cars. They let me see the blind spot and bottom of rear tires for parking and backing into my garage. I stick them in the bottom farthest corner of both side mirrors , there's a lot to be said for back up cams but the few times I have used them I found them (my problem) difficult to use backing into tight spots.

    musty smell

I realize you want to fix the problem however almost all my past cars have done this to some degree. I would periodically place a FEW drops of my favourite car deodorizer right on the cabin filter, something such as Fabreeze may help also.
  15. That recall was for the keyfobs popping out of that usb looking ignition if I remember correctly and if you had a heavy keyring on it the problem was more pronounced.
  16. It's a big wagon built on a car platform and the description is totally subjective to the source describing it. In Canada it is a CUV although many insurance companies use the word truck on the insurance slip.
  17. Try shaking the steering wheel back and forth the next time it does it , Mopar used an interlock cable on the old keyed ignitions goes between the steering column and the shifter and it sometimes does that with age and wear.
  18. It's been reported before and the usual result is that the radio black box has to be replaced. Make use of that warranty and get to a dealer.
  19. The 1.8,2.0 and 2.4 engines used since 2007 are the World engines and are in fact totally different from the previous model years.
