  1. Sparkyssxt this is not the way the ignition works on the 2011 and up. According to past posts. If you start the DJ then get out and walk away it can still be driven until the first time it is turned off ( there may be a timed sequence for auto off) but I have not tested. So in theory you could walk away someone could get in drive it backwards hit the fence/whatever and either stall it or timer sequence happens - hence mystery movement/damage.
  2. Welcome to the forum. Your right - I also don't understand the need to replace the parts you mentioned. Without a definitive driving record you don't really know where it was driven or for that fact how it was driven, the little old couple story doesn't seem to float. Floaty steering is a hard concept to imagine I guess you have to experience it. My 2011 is near 43000 kms and drives as good as the day I picked it up.
  3. They probably checked the cabin filter to see if they could ding you for some more money. Probably have the lot boy doing the "NOT" technical jobs.
  4. The condensation drip is normal, without you would replacing them a lot sooner.
  5. Definitely not venting, could be related to recirc system for example the charcoal canister could have failed due dirt or constant overfilling.
  6. I do not believe there were any structural changes in 2014. Why wouldn't the same hitch work?
  7. I would think environment is the worst enemy of this type of trim , if you live in hot area and the vehicle is not parked in any kind of shelter then it may fail. Mine is 3 1/2 yrs now and as good as the day I picked it up.
  8. It creates a more aerodynamic look. 2 cents!
  9. 2013 in theory could have been built in early 2012. It also depends on environment (lots of sun) and where the car is normally parked (lets say in garage) during the heat of the day. The black plastic trim on all my Chrysler cars needed restoration at least once a year,Wipe New is what I have settled on for this purpose.
  10. Agonizing about it makes it seem so much worse. Been there done that! In April 2006 I bought a Dodge Caliber and delivery took place in August.
  11. The Durango also has not been advertised very much although I have the occasional one on the road in our area.
  12. The oil filter housing is on top of the engine and is inverted on the 3.6 so if it was tightened properly it could leak although this is the first time I have ever seen it posted. The axle seal may be just defective and I think I recall 1 or 2 posts about it, seeing it's a 2014 warranty should resolve. Pain the neck tho.
  13. Because you probably did not pay duty/taxes when you brought them back and unless you can prove otherwise they tend to frown on import/smuggling.
  14. Yes and explain to the customs cop why you are taking a blown tire back to the US for a warranty claim.
  15. Cold is cold no matter or function of borders or politics. Try working on a remote northern radar site for a couple of years with temps of -45 F and 20 mph winds.
  16. Don't hold your breath while waiting for it!
  17. Superchip = a way to separate unknowing people from their money. It fools the computer driven parameters of some vehicles into using gas to air ratios that are supposed to generate more hp and better gas mileage.
  18. Gas mileage is determined by the vehicle you drive, the geographical area you drive and most importantly your driving habits. After 3 1/2 years of 90% city driving my paper calculated gas usage is 11.1 L/100km or a little over 21 mpg US. For what it is I am happy with that. For some reason Fuelly does not report it properly!!!
  19. There are numerous products to bring the black back to original shading such Forever Black,Mothers Back to Black and Wipe New. I have used all 3 over a 10 year period and the best that I personally found is Wipe New, put it on my DJ last year and the black has not faded at all. Not a cheap product and follow the instructions.
  20. It sounds as if the intake system dirty/carboned up. Try buying a can of SEAFOAM at Cantire/PartsSource/NAPA and follow the instructions.
  21. Yes you should pursue the issue with dealership. It could be related to a faulty ignition system, not many owners know that if you push and hold the Start/Stop ignition button while in Drive that the engine will shut down - could be related.
