  1. In the 2011 4.3 uconnect/Bluetooth you go into settings and "display" to change from US to metric in NA models.
  2. I had the disappearing oil problem but that was on a new 1985 Plymouth Voyager and it was the valve guides that were defective in the Mitsu engine they used. It used a liter of oil every 700 kms, dealer told me it was normal but I disagreed went to another dealer and sure enough a TSB was in the system.
  3. Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your new DJ!
  4. Common complaint among many DJ owners. My personal experience (based on my DJ) is that it shifts into 6th gear at about 63 km/h or around 40 mph for fuel economy and if you accelerate slowly without either double tapping or a solid push of the gas pedal it will lug the engine to achieve the speed you want. I use manual mode sometimes in the city and run around in 4th gear in traffic where our limits are 60 km/h / 40 mph.
  5. I would say it depends on how you define an "incline". My garage is under my house and the driveway goes up 4 feet in it's 40 foot length and my DJ will roll or move backwards if I don't apply the brake while in drive.
  6. Tis sad but now you know why this things come with wheel locks - just a bit harder to steal.
  7. I have only had to use roadside assistance once since 1984 have always thought (I may be wrong) that it was only covering mechanical or tire problems. I agree that from your description she could have done a better public relations job with improved communications skills having said that maybe she was having a crappy nite because of the storm. The trucks dispatched for this service are contracted independents and unless it's vehicle related they can and usually do charge.
  8. The way the EVIC algorithm works with regards to DTE is that it is based on the previous fillups L/100km. If your L/100km is good then the DTE will reflect a higher figure. Mine is generally 600 or better and after a long hiway trip I have seen 710 DTE.
  9. I dare to say it must be full. If you overfill too often it can lead to failure of recirc system which in turn will give you another pretty light in the dash display and money missing from your wallet.
  10. EGR will cause those symptoms however so will dirty or defective intake/fuel runners.

    Poor Journey...

Yes we need fire/ems guys but I think some are jaws of life addicts. lol
  12. Crawl under the back and check for muffler drain on the side you are getting water from then measure to that point on the non draining side - could be plugged with mud, rustproofing or undercoat - clean out and test.
  13. I was of the opinion that the AC compressor only activates when you have the AC or DEFROST cycle selected although DJs with auto climate would do it with regards to previous settings I suppose.
  14. dbrophy1 I am sure you realize that is US mpg and not imperial.
  15. You can rent tools. Inquire at Cantire,PartSource or Napa stores.
  16. Sounds as if the mixer doors in the air path are jammed. There have been reports of the motors failing in the past.

    Poor Journey...

I'll bet the driver didn;t fair very well better than the DJ.
  18. As Journeyman425 states "if you ain't moving and burning gas it throws ratio out of wack". Warming up the car is nice if your climate requires it but todays engines really don't need it, it's we humans that need it.
  19. Both my mufflers drain as I have crawled under to check. Despite what some people believe that's what they are supposed to do, if one of the drain holes is plugged/covered (i.e. undercoating) it is ok to clean out the drain hole as it will make the muffler less prone to failure.
  20. Possibly it's the traction/skid control applying the brakes to correct your direction of travel. Have you tried turning it off then doing the same type of driving?
  21. Welcome to the forum. Yes they had white gold as an offering in '11 -enjoy.
  22. One would think that if the problem moves from vehicle to vehicle that the cable/IPhone are the reason. Goto a dealer and try it on one of their demos/showroom DJs.

    Leaking Sunroof?

"all sunroofs leak" = sorry service dept. It could be as simple as the drains in the sunroof gutters are blocked and the dealer should know where they are and test/clear them - take it to another dealer and call Chrysler National customer service to open a complaint file.
  24. Hey Terry after you get your federal seniors card it's legal. Wes
