I find it hard to fathom why the EVIC display (not hand calcs) for some DJs is so poor with regard to L/100km. I have to believe that both geographical area you drive in and your personal driving styles lead to the poor showings , possibly the fact that you have AWD is also a mitigating factor. The best evic result I have had was a non stop 320 km drive on the 401 in cruise at 105kph with a good tailwind and the readout was 7.2 L/100km. My driving is 95% city in and around the west end of Lake Ontario (Hamilton-Burlington-Oakville) and never reads worse than 11.7 L/100km. Makes me glad I have FWD only - of course I am an old guy and tend not race around a lot.

Your welcome always nice to see someone new from my home area, I have a sister and nephew in Tecumseh. You can use search function for other threads relevant to your question.

Why so negative on Kumho? Have you had a failure? They are a soft formula I know, you can see that when you turn on asphalt while going slow or stopped as they heavy marking. You will be switching to mandatory snows soon anyway maybe the Kumho will last another summer.

Welcome to the forum. The questionably accurate EVIC mileage readings are often a subject here, one factor this time of year is the change over of fuel formulation from warm wx to winter gas it does decrease your averaging of mpg/L per 100km. The algorithm that computes these figures does not factor the above. Remember your driving AWD not FWD version so you have to compare apples to apples when reading other peoples gas consumption. The fuel gauge question has been flogged to death here and there are some that seem to be resolved and others not, mine varies from fill to fill and really I have got past it after 2 years of ownership and always fill to 1st click off of pump.

Welcome to the forum. If it did not come with nav the only Dodge upgrade is expensive. You can as several members have done buy a replacement unit from Ebay or pick up from auto recycler a proper nav unit and replace yours. Do a search of the forum threads for discussions on this as this has been a popular topic.

I am sure you can find many places in TO but Action Truck Superstore has them and their brick and mortar store in Mississauga installs them , just Google the name.

Andrioid and the USB
bigtsr replied to mkatona's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Appears to be a standard complaint resolution letter. On some systems of android (my HTC runs FROYO 2.21) you must have the usb cable plugged into the fone first and the fone must be on. When you plug into the actual usb such as laptop symbols will appear on the main fone screen and by touching the symbol it will give you options i.e. for charging only use as a disk drive and I assume you will have to do as I do when connecting to laptop and select disk drive. You may want to try this method. -
Tranny temp shows in the EVIC display.

Andrioid and the USB

I have not tried to use my HTC Incedible S via the the DJs usb port but I have used it with my laptop. Having said that in order to have it recognized as a DISK DRIVE I had to turn on USB DEBUGGING via the menuing. What make/model cell are you trying to use? -
My intent was not to "badger" the op but to create the possibility to think out what was asked - an accident like that has too many variables to be contemplated as "normal". Every car has weak points brought to a head by how fast, how slippery and road surface issues.
-
Supposedly the best selling crossover in Canada eh!
-
"Is this normal?" I have a smart ass answer but I'll refrain.
-
When did they supposedly start using engine displacement for ECO on the DJ Pentastar? Sounds like bs to me - I know the v8 had the capability but not the DJ. I know mine shifts into 6th gear at approx. 63 km/h or about 40 mph and if I don't coax it to downshift while trying to accelerate at that point it lugs and makes a funny noise and that is the norm - I can live with it.

Anyone Have a problem with the car not starting?

Is it the original battery and have the battery terminals ever been cleaned or tightened? -
Not if as has been said with regard to larger brake rotors on 2013 models - you need a minimum of 17" rims.

Welcome to the forum. Seems that quite a few of us have migrated from the Caliber to the DJ.

Injectors are more of a loud clicking/ticking and a knock is totally different.

Vibration with unknown cause

Sounds highly improbable that you would not find a cure going thru 16 tires. Who paid for these tires? Were they dynamically balanced? Why would they change 4 at a time when 2 at a time front then rear might have isolated? -
Well mine has been ready fall/winter for a while I use NU FINISH polymer took keep it polished up. http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/gallery/image/1206-cleaned-and-polished/

"but the same amount of brake pedal input on the Journey will launch you through the windshield!" I brought that point up to the brake specialist at my dealership after I burned out the right front rotor during a panic stop right after I picked up my '11 DJ. He said that in his opinion the amount of "brake boost" set into the DJs was one of the reasons for so many failures. Mine was a defective rotor which was replaced and brakes have been fine for over 2 years including a couple of hard stops.
-
My '11 DJ had a pronounced intermittent clunk when going from park to drive or reverse but as the mileage went up it has decreased to not even being discernible and I have being driving it for over 2 years.
-
Sounds to me that the "clockspring" is the problem as it connects all the steering wheel controls to the data lines while the brake pedal does not go thru it.

Welcome to the forum. You don't say how many kilometers are on the DJ. As far as maintenance goes a good rule of thumb is to follow the owners manual with regards to what should be done at any given mileage mark. If you don't have a manual they are all downloadable at Chrysler/Dodge Canada website. My '11 DJ SXT is over 2 years old and has nothing done other than oil/filters at my dealer. As for seized parts in the suspension or changing fluids in an '11 model I think they're rubbing their hands together.
