Yes I used it on all the outside black trim and roof rack plus the windage tray under the wipers . I also did the black door threshold entry trim at each door entrance.
-
My previous car was an '07 Caliber sxt all black and for 5 years I also used Mother's Back to Black and found it worked but had to apply semi annually to keep the black trim the way I liked it , hopefully this will work with less work.

As I said in post to Rolly only time will tell with regard to durability, been 4 days only but I like the look and am hopefull of success.

Rolly the package comes with everything you need including nitrile gloves, applicators and instructions in English/French (in case you live in LaSalle lol). There are warnings regarding painted surfaces but as a shaky old fart I managed to avoid any mishaps. It's a small bottle but it goes a long way as I still have about 1/2 left. I was out in the rain this evening and it sheds water like a ducks back , guess I'll have to see if it lives up to its advertising.

It's long been a problem not only specific to MOPAR but the black plastics used on exterior trim items tend to fade in time to greyish blacks. I have just used a product sold as "Wipe New" detailer and the blacks look better than when my DJ was new. It's not the cheapest way to do it nor least time consuming but if you follow the instruction to the letter the results are excellent , now to see how long it lasts , the manufacturer says about 2 yrs

Did you have voice recognition before you swapped radio? If not then the possibility is that you have no microphone installed or the mic is not software or hardwire connected correctly.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your DJ.

Yes that certainly improves the overall looks of things. I was going to buy a DJ in 2010 but the crappy silver dash turned me off - definitely better looking.
-
According to my copy of '11 DJ parts list the number is 1LR01XDVAA for shield trim folding passenger seat.
-
Hi and welcome. You don't really require the sensors in your winter rims - at first the dash alert will be on but after a number of kilometers it will ignore lack of sensors. The only annoying thing is the added symbol to the display.

Let's face it something vitally wrong with your DJ. Your dealing with Chrysler directly with regards to a resolution and that's a plus on your side , you may have to take a firmer stand and demand a replacement or refund after reasonable effort has been made by Chrysler and the dealership. I would think that "Lemon Laws" if availiable to you will be justifiable.

Down shifting around third gear kicks or jumps more than often
bigtsr replied to pdaddzy's topic in Engine & Transmission
Unfortunately not all service departments share your spirit of what's right - if you read posts you will find that some are or appear to be plagued with laziness and a genuine lack of customer care. The reason I suggest printing it out takes one of those concerns out of play and shows that your an informed owner with concerns that require addressing. I spent 34 years in customer service. -
The logical things would be warped rotors , disc pads hanging up , bent rim and tire with distorted/broken belts.

Print it out and take it to the dealer makes your case more believable. -
The shift lever locking solenoid is activated by the brake pedal switch , possibly it's intermittent - listen close the shift console as you step step on the brake pedal. There is an locking solenoid bypass built in the shift console , check the owners manual for location.

The plastic cover on my wifes side broke also, I looked at it and decided just to drill 2 holes in the plastic and looped a heavy duty tiewrap around the support piece that held the broken plastic piece. Covered the tiewrap where it shows with a piece flat black mastic tape. It's a vehicle not a work of art.

These posts have a familiar ring to them , I would suggest both should check with Chrysler to see if TSBs are up to date on these DJs. Possibly the wiring TSB hasn't been done.

Deep Tint Sunscreen Glass
bigtsr replied to lnghrn67's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
The DJ as offered here in Canada all come with deep tint glass in the rear passenger/cargo area, the windshield, drivers and front passenger windows have a lighter solar tint. Having said that there is the one base model CVP (Canadaian Value Package) that all windows are light solar tint only. -
I would suggest another dealer before pulling up stakes, it maybe just the dealer but it sounds like definite steering gear problem.
-
I would suggest having the battery load tested-2010 DJ the battery if it's the original could be 4 yrs old and average life is about 3 yrs. If you can't move the shifter it's because the shifter position locking solenoid is not receiving power either battery is dead or brake switch failed - there is a manual override for that solenoid - read the manual.

No sweat , first year I had DJ I didn't even notice it being there.
-
I don't know if the 2012 and up has it in the evic but in mine a 2011 SXT the evic shows hours-minutes-seconds in the trip menu and it starts timing when you set the trip odometer,I have used this method myself.
-
If you must know average mph you could set the Trip odometer at the beginning and write down the engine hours shown in the EVIC when start the trip. Simply divide the trip odometer milage by the change in engine hours to give you average miles per hour.
