" The only issue i have with the 7 pin connector is that the running lights only come on, and stay on, after pressing the brake pedal. Not a problem so far as i only tow during daylight." Did you use a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter? Princess Auto has them for around $6.00.

My rig - using towing capacity to full capability
bigtsr replied to joe8918's topic in Hauling & Towing
I know what Chrysler says the weight of DJ is but in reality has anyone here put theirs on a public scale in vacation dress? (minus towed unit) -
I have been out in the new DART and either by my perception or the reality of its size I would think this means the DJ will be downsized.

The lettering is held on with 3M automotive tape and it is advisable to use the floss you may want to pre-heat the insignia with a hair dryer on low heat to soften the tape then use a product such as GOO-BEGONE to remove the residue from tape.

Yea and stay away from that big ditch they're digging up around Howard and #3 filthy big hole to nowhere. LOL

WeatherTech Mats and Cargo Liner
bigtsr replied to forcedintoit's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Yes I have the same on mine but have not been over to WeatherTech office as of yet to get it resolved, maybe this week sometime. The other thing is that they are losing shape where I step across threshold going in and out so I will bring that up also, maybe take it out of the DJ and sit it in the sun will reshape to original as most plastic molding have shape memory. -
Quite honestly wasn't advocating the rocking of the DJ everytime you fill up but more to establish the fact that either it does/doesn't help. Just a starting mark when you complain to Chrysler, again to indicate poor ventilation.

Too bad they repaved Tecumseh Road east you could test bump and jounce roadabilty to your hearts content. Congrats on the new DJ

Nobody has answered the question regarding wether if you move or rock these particular DJs with the gascap off can you put more fuel into the tank,it would seem to me that if you can this would show filler/tank ventilation might be the reason.

Just as an aside Princess Auto here in Canada is selling the 4 pin TO 7 pin adapters for $4.99 in their latest flyer.

In the past that has been the standard brake warranty on all cars I have purchased from Chrysler. The exceptions occur when they have known problems such as on the 09-10 models when they extended the warranty. If you have a good relationship with the dealer (I have dealt with mine and known the service mgr since 1985) you can most times squeeze a little more out of them by not acting like a jerk,be reasonable but firm with the facts at hand. Brakes are consumables and everybody drives and brakes differently.

Right accessories for 2012 black journey r/t
bigtsr replied to Chris1276's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Enjoy the new DJ. I would guess the accessories to add would depend on what the DJ came with in the first place and what your personal tastes encompass. Automotive specialty shops are always nice to browse through before dumping a potfull of cash on a new vehicle. Try Googling 4WD shops in your area or visit websites such as Action Truck,Canadian Tire,NAPA Autoparts, PartsSource etc. Black trucks or SUVs look great with chrome accessories. -
I would think that if you had the nozzle in and the pump hit auto shutoff after the 8 gals it would be a tank ventilation problem as well and that the fuel guage is reflecting that problem. Once you moved the DJ did the guage change? Did you happen to notice the DTE miles at the time after it was supposedly full?

Minor annoyances are a part of ownership you have to live with or adapt. Some people don't wear seat belts because it annoys them-God bless! Some DJ owners live in large metropolitan areas where stopping at a red light with rear doors unlocked rewards you with a gun at the back of your head. Whatever turns your crank go for it-minor annoyances LOL.

Have you looked at the space around the Pentastar? With the headers built into the heads it will mean a major rework of the exhaust path and there is not a lot of room once you get past the firewall.
-
This has been discussed before and may be wrong but I believe it would be cost prohibitive. Items such steering wheel controls/clockspring and rearview mirror/microphone assemblies are required .

Are you looking to add Uconnect to it? What year and model of DJ?

Ziebart is reasonable with iron clad warranty,my '07 Caliber was as good as the day they did it when I traded it on the DJ after 5 yrs.

WeatherTech Mats and Cargo Liner
bigtsr replied to forcedintoit's topic in Accessories, Modifications
I bought mine from Action Truck who have offices in various cities here in Canada. I only live about 3 miles from WeatherTechs Canadian hq but the seller Northern Performance which is the same building wanted $10 more for the same product as Action. -
Journey vs Equinox
bigtsr replied to Serg_403's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
Yes this is the case in cold climate zones. -
I believe the 2.4 is still based on the World Engine used in the Calibers. If so possibly look for a wrecked 2008-09 Dodge Caliber SRT4 and salvage the turbo system,it was rated at 283 hp.

Big brake kit to repace crappy OE brakes?
bigtsr replied to biturbo's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Crappy brake systems withstanding I believe the majority of problems reflect where and how you drive. The 5yr old Caliber I traded on the DJ was at 75,000 km on original brakes/rotors all around and still had 25% left on the least worn. Best I ever had was '92 Caravan SB brakes not done til 105,000 km. I lost a front rotor on the DJ due to an emergency stop when a woman blew thru a red light,it was replaced along with the pads at 10,000km was checking it today and it has nice even wear and surprisingly little brake dust at 12,500 km. A mechanic at my dealership says he believes that the brake assist on the DJ is too aggressive set and that's why they are noisy during aggressive braking and cause excessive wear when used some owners. -
Where can I find Nerf bars journey 2012 Canada
bigtsr replied to ebud009's topic in Accessories, Modifications
Look under 4 wheel drive shops in your area, many have the ability to order in this equipment or see if you have an Action Truck dealer in your vicinity as they sell off road parts. -
Let's face it dealers/salesmen will wiggle every dollar they can from you. I bought mine at the end of the '11 model run and it was brought in from another dealer and all the discounts were applied that the signing dealer gave no extra involved. Now possibly I can see freight charges being applied say from Edmonton or Calgary to Peace River it's not local transfer or maybe you should pick it up at source and drive home yourself if possible.
