bigtsr replied to tahirjadoon's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
Well you can go this route for example http://navtv.com/product/196/uci-11c.html?forceShowProduct=1 or you can go to Canadian Tire and buy either of the the 2 add on units that they have on sale this month. One is wireless for $119.00 or a hard wired version for $89.00. Wireless are also availiable from China for abt $59.00 CAN on Ebay or ChinaDirect. -
Can someone measure their fuel door on their Journey?
bigtsr replied to Tom Compoli's topic in Lounge
2011 DJ fuel door measures 5-5/16" across. -
Journey or what?.................
bigtsr replied to erbch's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
Both my sisters have 2011 Escapes mainly because of the fact one gets employee discounts. One is FWD and the other is AWD I have driven both and while they have some nice features they both have horrible ride quality and so-so finish on the interior. In the end you pays your money and you takes your chances no matter what you buy. -
Welcome and congrats on the purchase.

Missing Body Wiring Plug for Trailer Wiring Harness
bigtsr replied to cutlass65's topic in Hauling & Towing
The tow wiring plug on my '11 DJ SXT V6 is right above the drivers side muffler exhaust tip attached to bumper support. -
I'll lay you odds it's the DEALERs idea of normal. I ran into that with a new Caravan I bought as it was using a liter of oil every 700 kms,the original dealer said oh that's normal. I found a dealer (service manager) who said it was not and checked turned out it was out on Service Bulletin about valve guides in that particular engine being bad and Chrysler paid the shot. Never have had another Chrysler with problem of oil consumption like that or like yours.I still use the same dealer and serv mgr since 1984.
-
Your either leaking it,burning it or have bad valve guides/rings.

In the 2011-12 the active oil pressure is part of EVIC display if your want for not checking it physically try leaving the EVIC on oil pressure. This is possibly the reason for no idiot light.

EVIC Nav display
bigtsr replied to redtomatoman's topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
By EVIC screen do you mean the one in the cluster or the 4.3/8.4" display? -
I don't recall exactly who posted but they had the clunk/bang shifting into gear from park and they said the dealer found bolts on the tranny not torqued to spec and misaligned. When I first got my DJ it would do it occassionally but it has disappeared as of the last 3-4 months. The brakes have not given me any problem up to almost 10000 kms but when I picked it up new the first thing I did was bedded the brakes then again I have always faired well with regards to wear/tear on brakes.Could be my method of drivimg.

The dealer window sheet with all the standard and optional equipment listed is probably as close as you'll get to actual line gate build sheets. At one time they always stuck a copy of the actual build sheet under the rear seat cushions but with with modular just in time contracted out build assy that's not going to happen now.I had the euipment at Chryslers in Windsor that sorted/collated the build gate sheets at the truck plant.

After oil change light reset bad mpg
bigtsr replied to jakesclark08's topic in Engine & Transmission
Well I don't know if you caused this but to reset you set to RUN with no start and depress the pedal, again they may have reset the EVIC mpg and it will take time and milage to get your averages down to readings you had before as it takes longer for averages to go down. -
Come on now-your living in Disneyland!!! Beautiful pics, too bad we couldn't all live there but it would be a bit crowded lol.

Hi Rolly welcome to the forum. I am originally from Windsor and have many(really a lot) of relatives who work for Chrysler van plant,I spent a lot of time there as a supplier tech in the 60s.

Backup Camera Stopped Working
bigtsr replied to Olaf L.'s topic in Audio, Infotainment Navigation, MyGig, UConnect, etc.
It may be worth while to just check the wiring as it may have become intermittent because of hatch opening/closing. If it comes and goes most likely cam is good, there can be just wire fatigue involved. -
Looks as though there are quite a few of we DJ owners who previously owned Calibers, drove mine for 5 yrs and the suspension work needed (2k) was what prompted the trade up-loved the CVT. Overall after 9000 km I am happy with DJ even the the gas milage has improved slighlty after the 8000 km mark. My daughter recently took delivery of a '13 Mazda CX5 which has all the nice features you mentioned such as blind spot, backup cam and rain sensing wipers plus 7.8/100km in the city. We recently drove it into TO and back and take my word for it the car is almost identical to driving the Caliber same feel with nice enhancements.

Yes I don't believe you will find readymades for the built in booster seats at least at this point in time. I would Google "dodge journey+custom seat covers" to start with and as Steph points out local might be better with regards to measurements and trial fittings, probably not going to be inexpensive.

As a sidenote try reading the PDF at this URL http://www.fleetchrysler.ca/en/pdf/2011_Police_Upfitters_Guide.pdf While I realize this is referencing the the Police Charger Vehicle it will give you a lots of info on the Pentastar V6 and many other items peculiar to Chrysler electrical systems.

I believe the CCN is commonly known as the instrument cluster. Google "dodge journey+CCN (cab compartment node" and you will get quite a few references to the subject.

Looks great especially in those surrondings, afraid my garage floor doesn't even come close to yours-enjoy the DJ.

As I said in post#4 the hooks are removable and movable, it took me 15 minutes to move the one closest to drivers door to one hole position-really a piece of cake.
