    I checked my DJ today for rust in those spots and found none,motor mounts still black shiny paint after 1st winter. Could be as mentioned re sea transport from NA.

    Holy crap Batman!!!!! You know most people will never some of that plastic off. The motor mount is not an unusal circumstance and while I have not checked my DJ I have seen it on other cars I have owned. The seat framing is supposedly painted(not necessarily rustproofed) before assy by subcontracter for seating. I am going to check mine today.

    Today was the very first time I've carried anything of bulk or consquence in the DJ. Walmart had a good sale on Scotts treated topsoil in 42.5 liter bags and with the 2nd row still up I was still below the headrests with 12 bags(510 liters). Great space in these machines and it did not drop height very much.

    You hit right on with your computer comment,the TIPM or Totally Integrated Power Module doesn't like current flows the system does not expect. I think your best bet is direct from battery via switch to lights,if you insist on integrating to existing switching then use a relay powered by that switchline current to apply power directly from battery to lamps. Haven't done this myself but had a Dodge Caliber for 5 yrs and it was the same generic beast when dealing with TIPM and current flows.

    From the pics of the new Dart I have seen on the net it uses a Fiat based engine and not the 2.4 World Engine which is Hyundai,Mitsibushi,Chrysler hybrid.

    Good to hear you have it resolved. What causes the most frustration for owners is the repeat trips,most dealers don't stock many of the odd once in a while parts in an attempt to hold inventory,storage and finance costs down. New vehicle parts are destined for the assembly line and with just in time delivery only a very small % make it to parts inventory reserve at any given time.

    The screen assy is just that "a screen". The radio itself is just behind HVAC hard controls in the center stack on the 4.3" and I assume the same would hold true for the 8.4".

    Sounds as if your build date is right on the cusp of the elgibility for the update,you should always bring a print out of the info you have aquired as a lot of the dealerships have not seen the actual problem and only have heard abt it. The build date is located on the label at the drivers door look for M(month) D(day) H(hour). Mine is a June '11 build and have experienced the problem as of yet.

Maybe some members need this as a solution. http://www.chinavasi...r-view-cameras/ I don't want anyone to get all tense abt Chinese products but they are a fact of life nowdays and have been for many years,I have dealt with the seller in the past and received the product I bought quickly and as advertised. The price shown is in Canadian dollars which at the moment is par with US dollar.

    Mine has the new style grill and bumpers and it's a June '11 build SXT/Pentastar.

    Always an anxious time waiting for the new wheels, fortunately the one I bought was on the lot. The longest wait I have ever had was buying my '07 Caliber in April of '06 as I had to wait till middle of August '06 for delivery.

    The pop/clunk has been reported before and mine has done it the odd time but very infrequently so next time I'm in for oil change I'll mention your solution. I don't put on a lot of miles about 600-700 a month is all I do and being an old guy I tend to drive moderately with inconsistent outbursts of speed lol. Love the DJ ride,acceleration and room after 6 months of ownership.

    Good to hear your gettting results. Always a clincher when you can do a comparison with similar vehicle that they have for sale. If you find a good dealer/service treat them like gold because if you go by forum posting they can be far and few between.

    You don't say why your seats are bad! Is it your type usage or is it bad panel assy(stitching)? I think that under warranty that they should be given the chance to repair before full blown replacement. If you don't get satisfaction with the repair then you have got them nailed for replacement seating.

    First time I've heard of it. Almost sounds as if the shifter assy or the the tranny shifted to one side. Mine is as smooth as silk.

    I don't have that seat option either,I believe it is only standard above the SXT i.e. CREW,RT

    I don't believe it exists on 2011-12's I have not seen it todate and I manage to squeeze out some very good mpg's out of my DJ. Page 274??????? Must be a Euro handbook printed in all the languages because the one I got has under 100 pages.

    They do have a good how to video on their site with regards to taking the dash apart to get at the radio.

    In these computer controlled cars the codes refer to what are known as"sales codes". They turn on the accessories that are controlled from TIPM (power distribution computer/fuse box) so if the car didin't come with fogs the TIPM is reprogrammed to supply power to them. Ain't computers wonderful!!!!!!!

    This was just for this tank which I filled up Feb 14th at which time I reset the evic to 0,it said at that time DTE=598. When I went out yesterday am it was 10.1/100km and I do admit coasting down 2 hills to get that reading . It was 9 C and wind was abt 2 km/hr. If I get carried away with right foot that figure goes up like an Atlas rocket.

    I was out yesterday and drove across the city (abt 14 km) I hit all the traffic lights and was super conservative on acceleration letting it shift at 2k rpm When I got to the Home Depot lot this is what the l/100km read so took a pic with my el cheapo cellfone. Max speed 60 kph(abt38 mph)

    My '11 SXT works exactly as drb227 says, 2 quick presses and don't release the 2nd one.

    "If they have enough complaints" You had better find another dealer or start calling Canadian customer service directly that sounds like a cop out. Maybe they got 2 defective RTs awds all the more reason to try another dealer. Certainly doesn't seem right to me.
