    Dimmer Control

Could be. Or maybe they made the change mid-stream. Doesn't sound like it did much, so I guess I won't miss it
  2. What kind of pricing have you been seeing for the extended warranties in Canada? I ended up buying the Chrysler Maximum Care warranty package with coverag to 5 years/60k miles for $500. I don't usually buy extended warranty plans, but that seemed like a good deal to me.
  3. In case anyone's interested, the Whispbar S45 cross bars fit the Journey perfectly and look great! I'm still not sure why the Yakima fit guide doesn't say they'll fit the Journey.

    Dimmer Control

I guess Chrysler figured out that it wasn't needed because the 2012 doesn't have a second dimmer control. Mine only has a single dial.
  5. I don't mind having to "resync" after making changes to the iPod. But mine seems to be "resyncing" every time I turn the car off and back on. For the first 5 to 10 minutes of every drive it re-catalogs the iPod, which is already getting annoying and I'm only on my second day with it. Any idea how to make it stop doing that? Does this have anything to do with the "Music Info Cleanup" option under settings that you can turn on and off. I've tried turning that on and off, but it doesn't seem to change any behavior. Any idea what that's supposed to do?
  6. Mine seems to get power to the USB port any time I open a door. Right after any door is open, I can hear my iPod's power chirp. Not sure how long it stays on after the door is closed again.
  7. Thanks! I installed the mud flaps, bug deflector, winter wheels/tires, and lockpick today. So far, so good!
  8. Even the Mopar one requires the removal of the hvac controls because it's self contained. The factory screen has a different housing that also integrates the hvac controls. Your best bet is to see if you can find somebody willing to extend the hvac wiring and relocate the controls farther back.
  9. Mine came from the factory with the rear screen and integrated rear climate controls. The directions for the aftermarket Mopar screen say that you have to remove the rear climate controls before installing the screen. I guess they expect you to decide whether you want the screen or the rear climate controls if you go aftermarket.
  10. Yeah, that's what I thought. It really is standard on the Crew and R/T in the US, but it needs to be added as an option in Canada even though the documentation says that it's supposed to be standard.
  11. I would guess the 2011 version doesn't currently have the capability to figure out the voice tags that would go with each song. But that seems like it would be more of a software update than hardware.
  12. I don't see why they couldn't. I know it was questionable whether or not the 2011 version had the needed hardware. But since the 2011 already does support some voice recognition, I would think they could expand on that functionality with a software update.
  13. Right. I thought the issue in Canada was that even the higher trim levels weren't coming with BT even though it was supposed to be standard, no?
  14. I think that's only an issue in Canada. All of the 2011 and 2012 Journeys I've seen in the US have had Bluetooth and voice recognition if they were one of the trim levels that were supposed to come with it. There is no separate $300 option for it in the US.
  15. Yeah, the blackberry from 2011 is much darker than the new blue for 2012. The 2012 blue is much brighter.
  16. He was obviously wrong. Unfortunately, a lot of sales people will say anything to make a sale whether they know the answer or not. The 8.4 was available to order starting in early October with builds starting November 1st. That's why they're just starting to arrive at dealers now.
  17. I finally picked up my 2012 Crew AWD today. It took 2 months from order to delivery, which doesn't seem too bad. I got every available option except the smoker's group and the leather seats (I don't like leather). I haven't had time to play with everything yet, but so far I'm loving it. The voice command works very well for Navigation and music playback, which was one of my big concerns. Tomorrow, I'll play with the rear seat entertainment to see how that works. I'm also planning to put winter wheels and tires on it this weekend along with the mudflaps and bug deflector.
  18. I saw one of the new blue ones at the dealer today while I was picking mine up. It's definitely a bright blue. I kinda like it, but I went with Storm Gray instead.
  19. I received my 2012 Journey Crew today with 8.4N. I can confirm that the 2012 does support Voice Command for Navigation and music playback by song, artist, album, playlist, genre, etc. I haven't put it through it's paces yet, but so far it seems to work quite well.
  20. Looks like that's been remedied. I picked up my 2012 Crew today, and the trailer tow prep package now comes with the plastic adapter plate for the 4 pin harness and a rubber cap to protect the plug.
  21. I just got the car so I tried it. It is smart enough to recognize podcasts and not start them over. Haven't tried an audiobook yet.
